I rented a book, received the book and now it's not showing up in my account to return it. I have contacted customer service multiple times and not received help. I ordered a Saxon Math book. I understood that it was pretty used, but I didn't expect it to be falling apart and have pen answers written in the book to all the beginning questions. It is in pretty terrible shape, I wish there had been a clearer description and pictures to show what condition it was really in.

Do not send your books to Books Run. If Books Run scams you, file a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General. World Of Books and Powells are honest and reliable alternatives. Books Run is your worst bait-and-switch fears realized.
Here in my experience in a nutshell:
Books Run offered me $45 for 10 books and 1 book set (5 new books). This was a very low offer for the books. For example, the Sarah J. Maas book set = $19! I sent the books in. Books Run refused two books, changed the offer to $33, and sent me an order dispute that I needed to pay them $26 to have the two books returned. If I accepted their order dispute, I had to pay $26. If I refused their order dispute, Books Run keeps the books. This is how they scam customers out of books. I contacted them 4 times in the course of 5 days through their portal and through their email. I notified them in each I wanted to cancel my entire order and I wanted all my books back. Books Run ignored each notice and never responded. I also noticed they did not send a Shopper Approved survey for my order. They avoid low ratings by selectively sending surveys.
Books Run finally sent an AI-generated response to me, which was signed by Marie:
We apologize for the delayed response caused by the high season we are currently experiencing... Please be kindly advised that the fact that you contacted us via email does not mean you may disregard the order dispute and still expect the items to be returned to you, as the action and response are to be stated there from your side. Contacting us via any other means other than directly in your order dispute does not confirm any of your actions in the order dispute itself... At this point, according to our Terms and Conditions (section "Buyback", subsection "Shipping and Returns"), the items of your order are no longer eligible for a return under any circumstances, since they have been processed and paid for.

They said the book I purchased from Ebay and sent to them was a counterfeit, but they would not give me any money or even return it.
