The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Booking.com needs to do a better job of reviewing their properties that they list. I booked a duplex apartment at 34 Quai Michele Fere in LeHavre France. No where in the description does it specify that it is on the fourth floor with no elevator, kind of important! I found this out the day before my stay and had to cancel because of my daughter's physical limitations and the amount of luggage we had. They would not refund my money. I then went back and translated all of the reviews and saw it in 2 of them. That's not the way this info should be displayed. They should force this type of info to be in the description of a place that they are advertising.
I booked the hotel and then had to cancel for personal reasons.
It was a free cancellation. Cancellation email said it will take 7-12 days for a refund. Its been 24 days and still no refund. Contact centre is overseas and they neither care not take the ownership at all.
Booked a taxi through booking.com to pick me up at hotel at 1am for flight at airport, taxi didnt show up contacted booking.com, sent evidence of trying to contact taxi with the replys it was not them that had to pick me up, had to give booking. Com time to investigate after 2 weeks they said taxi company had sent evidence of being there therefore no refund not willing to help me the customer who is £313 out of pocket as i had paid upfront and had to get hotel to try and arrange another taxi for me (thanks to 15 Santiago in Seville for doing that) have contacted them again to be told case was closed but they would reopen and get back to me! Week later still nothing from them ive contacted trading standards and citizens advice WILL NEVER USE BOOKING.COM AGAIN absolute shambles of a company no respect for their customers
You can get some good deals on travel when you bundle your flight car rental and hotel with this site. I've only used them twice and was satisfied. If you're not needing a hotel or car rental you can find a better option on your own. It can give you some great ideas on activities to do at your travel destination.
Well somehow I called Holiday Inn Express Phoenix AZ. And got transferred to these THIEVES! THEY BOOK MY ROOM AND CHARGED ME $30+ DOLLARS OVER THE WALK IN PRICE. DON'T USED THESE THEIVES WHEN I CALLED FOR HELP BECAUSE THE HOTEL CHARGED MY CARD AS WELL. THEY PUT ME ON AND OFF HOLD FOR 20 MINUTES THEN TRANSFERED ME TO SOOMEONE THAT COULDN'T SPEAK ENGLISH AND JUST GAVW ME A HEADACHE.
I CALLED THE HOTEL IN PHOENIX EXPLAINED THE ABOVE THRY CALLED THEM GOT PAID AND THEN ISSUED A CREDIT TO MY CARD. I STILL HAD TO PAY OVER $30 FOR THE NORMAL PRICE. AND WAS TOLD NOT TO USED BOOKING.COM AS THIS HAPPENS OFTEN
THEY ARE THE BIGGEST PICESES OF I HAVE EVER DELT WITH.
Reserved hotel via Booking.com and after booking it turned out that the hotel has restrictions that were not mentioned in the ad and inappropriate for me. Spoke with Booking.com manager and he assured that they will cancel without any fees. Still charged me so paid $112 for nothing, just for misadvertising
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! I booked a hotel room through them and when I got there they were overbooked and had no room for me. I contacted them right away and was assured I wouldn't be charged, but I was. It has taken over a week to get a response to get "approval for a refund" and that will take up to TWO WEEKS to recieve for accommodations I never used.
On 3-Jun we missed last train from Portsmouth to London and given it was Jubilee weekend we couldn't find any hotel in the town. So we decided to take the train to Guildford and booked hotel for the night for £111.60. It was near midnight and I just went straight to Booking.com thinking that I am covered by their "We Price Match" policy. Soon after booking my wife showed me >20% cheaper price for same hotel and room type. On reaching home I called them on 4-Jun and their customer service tried to turn me down saying that the policy only applies to future bookings. I brought her attention to their website page which nowhere said such terms. Then she put me on hold and agreed to send me a link for me to submit screenshots. After submitting screenshots booking.com came back asking me for links to show the full terms of boarding. Come on how could those websites show terms of bookings for past bookings? I explained things logically and clearly that they have all the information including terms of bookings as it was lowest room class that I booked with booking.com with no cancellation allowed and meals. So any other website has to offer better than that + there was only 2-3 rooms available with that hotel on that night - go and check with hotel or your own records. But they kept emphasizing that they need weblink and I should have come to them before staying at the room, which is not possible because I booked 1 night for 3-jun around 23:00, i. E., after booking start time.
Tried multiple times to reserve a hotel (various destinations in Europe). It is always denied and they keep the money. I get an email that ends with "we are here for you" and it is a no-reply message. No one is here for you. This is a scam.
Booked a hotel that was not at all what was portrayed on web site. It was unsafe. While hotel authorized a refund and booking spoke to the hotel mgr I was unable to get my refund. I called booking and asked for a supervisor. Their agents put you on hold for long periods of time if u insist on a supervisor and after about 10 min they hang up on you but they can't help you and refuse to transfer you to someone who can.
I booked a hotel in Larnaca Cyprus through the booking.com app and they charged me accordingly then proceeded to sub contract the booking to a partner company bedsonline. When i arrived at the hotel in good time i found no reservation for me. Numerous emails and phone calls to booking.com who asure me the booking was confirmed and was maybe just stuck in the system. I ended paying for a hotel twice and booking.com refuse to refund the money as they claim the reservation was made. I personally will never use their booking service again. Please be aware people.
Customer services are absolutely useless, using the chat service you get a different agent for each reply and no consistency. Make a booking, get given a price then have 130 dollars added on after confirmation. Avoid at all costs
The customer service give the false sense of giving you help but they actually do not do anything. The promise of cancelling my hotel for a night was promised to me and then after 24 hours, before i checked in, emailed told me to call the hotel. What is their job then. The priceline/booking.com lost me as a customer for almost 20 years. Horrible experience.
Don't use this site. Accommodations are not what are advertised. Car insurance is very bad. Rental service did not accept insurance and we received no reimbursement from booking.com.
Booked a hotel through them and showed up, the lady at the counter said that booking. Coms payment was denied and there weren't any rooms left we couldn't get ahold of anyone so we gave up and booked through someone else. 2.5 weeks later and lies from them saying they sent emails to the hotel but we called the hotel and spoke to the manager. We are currently on hold with them and they have hung up 3 times on us know. The manager on duty told us to tell them they can call them and the manager said the do this all the time. How do you buy through an online site and their payment get denied and then customer service is in another country and they play games all the time.
Wanted to stay in London for Jubilee bank holiday so booked 2 nights 2nd, 3rd June 2022. We made this booking in Feb 21 Booking.com unfortunately booked us into a property that wasn't available, which we didn't find out about until we were outside the property on 2nd June. They then sent us to substandard hotel that was so grubby we left after one night. Now B.com have relinquished all responsibility of refunding us for the night we didn't stay and just keep sending the same repetitive email passing us back to the Gresham, who are now telling lies about the situation. Won't be using them again.
In fact if there is provision for giving negative rating, that would be most appropriate for the kind of services offered by Booking.com
Not at all professional, stay away from them if you do not wish to land into trouble, humiliation and problem at eleventh hour.
I booked a flight to New Orleans for my fiancé's retirement trip; I paid 1100$ to Booking; the day before leaving I realized they had changed the fight from CRW to CHS; I called and they refused to change; instead they made me pay another $$1600; having no choice with other money invested in room etc… after getting it changed & paying another1600$ they continued during the trip to send misleading info to the CHS; even told me there was a delay of trip while boarding for Charleston wv; it was Charleston SC; the total trip was a disaster as far as getting there and back; too much to write but many more misleading messages along the way; avoid this company!
This company has a new way to make money out of people. I booked a reservation for the weekend, and they canceled it without notice. It turns out that now they charged me a fee for a cancelation that I did not do. It was more than $273 that they won't refund because the reservation was canceled, which I didn't do.
I called customer service and they just repeat the story and insist on saying that cancelations cost a fee. I called three times and finally a supervisor called me back. He promised that I would receive all my money that I should not worry. But it was a lie, because I only received the difference in fees for the reservation. They kept $273 and argued that it was because of the cancelation. I called a 5th time to customer service and the person who is not in the United States told me that I couldn't speak to a supervisor anymore. He stated that I should just let it go because I was not going to receive the refund.
This company has the power to justify fees and keep your money. BBB won't allow me to file a complaint because apparently the company needs to be accredited. This company is not affiliated to the BBB which unfortunate. I am filing a complaint to the US Consumers Bureau instead.
Watch out with BOOKING.COM as a travel agency. They use your information, contact the hotel, book for you, and then cancel the reservation so they can keep a portion of the money.
Be careful with booking.com Their mojo is: "sir, contact the hotel directly" and it is not true.
Recently we were looking to book an entire villa for a weekend trip to Lonavala. I have used Booking.com before and was happy with them so I tried to book again. This time after I booked the villa and received the confirmation but no payment was taken. The caretaker called me and said it was confirmed but he would send the payment details later. He did not send it for a few hours so I called him to inquire, he said the property I booked was already booked by someone else and showed me other options that weee not half as good. The same was experienced by others who tried to book. We wasted a lot time waiting for the payment details meanwhile we lost on other deals.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
