The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

My husband and I booked a resort in Israel, through Booking.com There own policy states if you see it cheaper, they will give us the cheaper rate. There own site had the same resort and same dates cheaper after we booked. We asked for the difference and they would not comply!
We sent them snapshots of the cheaper rate and they kept saying they never got it, however they did!
Unless they correct this we will not book through them again.
I booked through booking.com for a hotel stay In May of 22 I still have not received my credit but it's due to me as i followed booking. Com's cancelation/change policy and they owe me thousands of dollars. I was within my cancelation/change Policy Timeline and booking.com has still as still after several emails phone calls have not refunded my money
After having a nightmare 5 day experience in a derilict hotel supported by booking.com and being treated like dirt, I finally found alternate accommodation. Booking.com will promote accomodation providers who have mould, broken windows, dirty sheets, no lights, no electricity, toxic dust, no hot water, being locked out upon entry, you name it. You can be a dog kennel or drug lab and advertise on booking.com. They have no standards. Look at the reviews and avoid. Book direct and do your research.
Their business model was fraud, and companies like AVIS and BUDGET who accociate with them. My flight was delayed and instead of letting us get our PREPAID 30 DAY rental for only 29 days they cancelled the booking, without telling us, and pocketed the cash.
They owe me money, never answer why, their team doesn't have a clue how the system works. Had to take my property down since they were keeping all the money guests paid!
Prices seem to be okay when you book your room but make sure you check your Resort fees, pet fees, and taxes at the end. Yoi may end up paying two three $400 or more extra on your booking
I can't believe what these gangsters get away with, selling people dangerous flea ridden sub standard hotels then when things go wrong they just wash their hands of it, try anywhere else it couldn't be as bad as booking.con.
They will take you're money. I booked a room a it wasn't a good room the TV and ac didn't work the room was dirty cockroaches climbing on the walls it was not worth $141 for two nights it's been two weeks and they still giving me the run around about my money it's so sad a big company has to rip off homeless people
We made a reservation with booking.com which included breakfast as per their website. We were charged for breakfast. Neither CitizenM Tower London or Booking.com will refund breakfast charged on top of the room rate on our invoice.
We arrived at our caravan to a disconnected unit.
No hot water electricity or heating.
Haven reconnected it, but the boiler didn't work.
Why is booking. Com letting places that are not fit for purpose?
Almost £300 for 3 nights last weekend in October, stay completely ruined by these people. Compensation offered £21.10
Avoid booking with these, cowboys without compassion.
If I could have awarded zero stars I definitely would.
Please consider other letting agents, don't be caught out.
Do not use booking.com
I had the unfortunate experience of using this service and will never book again.
For almost 3 weeks I tried to make changes to a flight I booked online with them only to be told that they couldn't help me to go to the airline. When I called the airline I was told I had to go back to booking. Com as this was the method I booked with. They kept saying they couldn't access my profile. And they were escalating it and I would get a call back. I never received a call back and I continued to call. I asked to speak with a manager and was always told one was not available. This continued for 2.5 weeks. Less than 24 hours before the flight o again called trying to get the dates changed and again was told I had to wait they would call me back. I continued to call and finally 12 hours before the flight they said it could be changed and the cost of the new flight was an additional $200. Had they been able to help me when I initially tried to book there was no increase in flights and the delays resulted in the airline increasing prices. I asked that they pay for the change and they would not. I asked for them to pay half and they refused. I was angry and disappointed as I was trying to make this change for weeks for my elderly mother and the lack of urgency and customer service was appalling.
I made a reservation two months in advance for two rooms for seven days almost 2,000. I received confirmation and payment had no issue clearing. Once I arrived at hotel they had no reservation from booking and after three ours in the lobby with a four year old and being hung up four times from booking including an hour and half hold, I paid for a one night stay for rooms I already paid for! And still nothing from booking!
They simply refuse to post negative pictures uploaded as proof of a bad say. The location in question was Irma Manarola in Italy.
I reserved a hotel and had to suddenly cancel, when I was refunded I killed on the exchange. For Canadians I highly recommend doing business with a Canadian based company. Was so disappointed, will never use again ever.
I have been spammed today. I put a call back request to check the cancellation policy and I got an email stating the booking has been cancelled. I tried reaching and immediately I got a call asking me to add my card details in Booking.com app to process a refund as my booking got cancelled. They asked me to download some app which they claimed to be a booking.com's supporting app and they took control of my phone without my knowledge and were watching whatever activities I was doing on my phone. I realized and Uninstalled the supporting app and they started using abusive language in hindi when I uninstalled the app.
I insist Booking.com to look into this as the customer's data is being hacked using the app and website.
Although the home was fine the beds were unsleepable. One was so hard the springs poked through the thin plastic mattress, the Queen bed was so soft that we purchased mattress toppers for both to even be able to sleep on them. I was told that mattresses were subjective and they would do nothing. For the $876.00 that I paid I believe you could expect a comfortable bed.
Decided to use Booking.com after reading Frommers recent review showing them in number 1 position. For me, Booking.com was terrible. After first pass attempting to purchase 4 air tickets to Cabo San Lucas the system returned a message stating the seats I selected were no longer available after my payment was in the the processing stage, I even went through the ID verification process with my bank. After the message on the seats no longer being available came through I selected OK, and it returned to the main screen, not retaining any of my information even passengers... So I gave it a second try, re-entered dates, passengers, etc. and the system jumped out of seat selection after choosing first two passengers seat leaving my second two passengers with out seats selected. I found not ability to go back and correct this, so I went back to the search criteria and again, all information lost. This time after entering dates, etc. prices magically jumped up 80.00 a ticket, entered all my passenger data again for the third time, and this time when I got to seat selection no free seats were available anymore, all seats were now pay seats were previous attempts had plenty of free seats to choose from. Gave up and went to the AA site and purchased the tickets directly with no issues and the price ended up being cheaper than what Booking was showing. Not impressed with Booking.com, they must have purchased that first paostion with Frommers.
Booked a room no confirmation sent had to contact hotel to confirm which they did then tried cancelling customer service were appalling just kept asking for code and pin I end they took the park meant without my consent then cancelled direct with hotel and have now had to issue a writ
Two hours before we should checkin our booking got cancelled. We are stuck at the airport. Called the hotel, they confirmed they are double book we need to sort it with Bookings.com.
Bookings.com are sleeping nice tonight while we are stuck at the airport!
We confirmed the booking three weeks ago and only got 2hr notice before checkin.
Very disappointing.
Dreadful service, appalling telephone call handlers, and flights were cancelled - on the third time I telephoned the help number. A person whose first, second and third languages were not English asked a series of unrelated questions, missed the point entirely but then decided the cancellations must have been due to '... a poor internet connectivity...'. I asked how I made a complaint. After a while I gave up - I will not use these incompetents again.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
