The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I mistakenly reserved a 3-day hotel from the booking.com and realized at the last minutes. I am really frustrated. The people from the booking.com custom services are very professional. When they comfort me, they helped me to contact the hotel and successfully modified my booking.
No customer service once booking is made. Esp. If changes need to be made to your bookings!
Go directly to your desired hotel and book direct and cut out the middle scammer being Booking.com
BEWARE. SO IS PRICELINE OR BOOKING.COM. THEY WON'T HELP YOU IN ANY WAY TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK EITHER. ALL OF THESE MIDDLEMEN COMPANIES THAT YOU NOW HAVE TO BOOK HOTELS THROUGH ARE NOTHING BUT SCAM ARTIST PIECES OF CRAP LOCATED IN SOME OTHER COUNTRY. DON'T USE ANY OF THEM. DANGER. BEWARE.
In May I made two separate reservations through Booking.com for a hotel in Barcelona, intending to pay upon arrival at the hotel, as indicated by the payment options presented during the booking process. However, upon my arrival at the hotel, I was informed that there were no reservations under my name. Arrived a foreign county in the middle of night and I was informed my hotel reservation was cancelled!
To resolve the issue, I immediately contacted customer service at Booking.com and I was informed that my reservations had been canceled (without telling me) because I had not paid at the time of booking. That was in direct contradiction to the options presented on their website, which clearly indicated the possibility of paying upon arrival.
To my dismay, I was also informed that a cancellation fee of $310 had been charged to my credit card. I was utterly shocked by this unjustifiable charge.
Subsequently, I reached out to the hotel directly to clarify the situation, and they confirmed that they had indeed waived the cancellation fee for both of my reservations. This acknowledgment by the hotel only serves to highlight the incompetence and miscommunication on the part of Booking.com, as I should never have been charged in the first place.
Despite numerous attempts to rectify the situation and seek a refund, Booking.com has persistently refused to take responsibility for the mishandling of my reservations and the subsequent unauthorized charge of $310. This lack of accountability and refusal to refund my money is wholly unacceptable.
In conclusion: DO NOT USE Booking.com!
They change your reservation details, we arrive and our reservation does not exist, I book a car at Fiumicino ROME airport and while I was on the plane they change it for Ciampino airport, and I was not able to arrive before the office closes, I was on the phone for two hours with their assistance service, result? ABSOLUTE ZERO! ZERO MONEY BACK!
My flight from Philippines to Singapore last January 2023 was cancelled due to technical issues with the International Airport. I initiated a refund from the Airline (Scoot) which they refund the money immediately. Now I have requested a refund from booking.com since I purchase the ticket from their website. Very frustrating that after 3 months, they still have not refunded the money to me. I have been following up for 2 months but still I am getting the same update since day one. Very bad experience with booking.com. I am not going to book my flights with them anymore and will share this with all my friends and families.

Booking is a horrble company. They have phone support but it a computer repeating ( Please enter your booking number) Over and over again even after you enter the number. Then I found another booking.com website that said the they have 24/7 customer support by phone. But they dont list the phone number on that page or on any linked pages. Dishonest company I assume from a dishonest cuture and country. If I was yoou I would skip The Netherlands.
They must think there customer are stupid.
The booking was confirmed, Booking.com charged my account the entire rental charge. When we went to the check out desk of MEXC in Cancun they would not honor the reservation or payment or the insurance. They tried to charge us more than double the reservation amount. We walked away and then they said they could rent at the reservation rate but it was a new transaction in addition to the amount withdrawn by Booking.com.
My phone did not work so I didn't contact booking.com until my return and then they said it was to late for a refund. They would only offer to refund the insurance.
I will pursue this further as it is a case of fraud and a complete scam.
Booking.com messed up our Family flight booking. 4 tickets with 4 seats = 2 adults, 2 toddlers. They only booked 3 seats and informed us that we can put 1 kid on our lap instead. They also recommended that to have a relative come with us and take care of the kids. Wtf! I asked to modify the tickets to the correct seats and they said the airline is not allowing it. When I called the airline they said they can, they just have to call! I offered to pay it directly through the airline but they said, they need an adult ticket associated with the purchase, which is already under booking.com; when I asked booking.com about a refund and they said it's non-refundable and when I asked the airline it is, but unfortunately, we went through a travel agency that messed it up. Will never use this company ever again. It's a 15 hour flight with a lap kid, like WTH!
Mocskos csaló geci banda, ne foglaljatok itt, átverés a 10% kedvezmény! Nekem sem adta meg a szállás írtam a bookingnak, aki lerázott, hogy nem az ő bajuk. Kurva anyjukat, majd én futkossak az ő szaruk miatt.
They make money and nothing else. No care for their customers and absolutely no care whatsoever for the people that make their money. The Hotel owners.
Its so bad
Should I have checked the reviews for this website before I booked a hotel with them. I canceled my reservations on June 10th. They still have not refunded my money and it's June 30th. They do not respond to emails. They do not have a number that you can call to get information about your refund. AND they website is not transparent about this issue. I would not recommend. 0 out of 5.
I had reserved a hotel through booking.com and I was having issues with check in and my representative was so upset, she reimbursed me and found me a new hotel free of charge. She kept saying how sorry she was for the way I was treated! Thanks again!
Used booking.com for the first time ever, only for them to not only cancel my reservation for a room, but they've also disabled my account and DIDN'T EVEN INFORM ME WHY. I was left on the streets to figure out a last minute accommodation. The hotel in question sent me proof that booking.com has canceled my reservation and not them. It's been weeks and I'm still waiting for my $500+ to be returned to me. They've made every little excuse to not refund me my money, despite sending over a proof of bank statement (which equates to the cost of the room). This was my first experience ever booking with them and trust me, it will be my last.
I have to express my utmost dissatisfaction with the services provided by booking.com company, an experience that surpasses any other negative encounter I have ever endured. Regrettably, as a consequence of the abysmal treatment I have received, I have taken the extreme measure of terminating my account with your establishment.
For an entire year, I have fervently pursued a resolution concerning the reimbursement of two services which I had dutifully remunerated, yet never received. Despite my persistent efforts, my appeals for redress have fallen on deaf ears. In countless instances, I have resorted to electronic correspondence, beseeching your company to acknowledge my grievances. Alas, it is disheartening to report that these attempts have been met with a complete lack of professionalism, leaving me no choice but to implore all potential clients to eschew your organization in the interest of preserving their own well-being and sanity.
The sheer audacity of your company's misconduct is amplified by the fact that I am currently owed a considerable sum of 2000 euros for services that were never rendered. It is with a profound sense of frustration and dismay that I find myself recounting this grievous financial imbalance, brought about solely through booking.com organization's negligence.
I expect nothing less than a swift and satisfactory resolution to this distressing affair, in order to restore a modicum of trust in booking.com. The responsibility to rectify this grievous matter rests solely with this organization, and it is imperative that at they must demonstrate a modicum of integrity and respect towards your disgruntled customers.
Never use booking. Com!. I did not get a confirmation email with my confirmation number and when I found out that I needed to cancel my reservation it was practically impossible to do it. One of the worst customer services I have ever encountered
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Booking.com, and I must say that their customer service was beyond disappointing. It's clear to me now that this website is nothing more than a platform for scammers, with their unhelpful support team available round the clock to assist in their nefarious activities.
From the moment I encountered an issue with my booking, I realized that Booking.com had no interest in assisting their customers. Their customer service representatives were unfriendly and seemed disinterested in resolving any problems. It felt as if I was inconveniencing them with my concerns, and their lack of empathy was striking.
I reached out to their so-called "live support" for help, only to be greeted by unhelpful individuals who seemed more interested in pushing me towards additional bookings rather than addressing my concerns. It was clear that their focus was on making a profit rather than providing genuine assistance to customers in need.
To make matters worse, I suspect that some of the live support agents were actually scammers themselves. Their responses were scripted, devoid of any genuine understanding or willingness to help. It was as if they were intentionally trying to deceive me and push me towards making poor decisions.
Booking.com has charged us for a booking we never made. Ignoring registered letters asking for proof we made the booking, they continued to charge our credit card. They cannot be reached by phone and ignore written requests.
Be warned! This is a totally unreliable, untrustworthy company!
I booked a car and was told I would not be able to drive outside of the state. I contact the customer service rep., explained my problem. She keep putting me on hold, she made me go back to the counter to verify that I was there and that the rental company canceled the car. She stated she would refund me, I asked that I really need to rent a car and this was very important. She keep telling that my rate would go up, again put me on hold to tell me that they would add a border fee. I explained that I was not going outside of the country but to California. So I just said to refund me, than she changes her mind from giving me my full refund to only a portion. I asked to speak to a manager, and she would not allow me to speak to anyone. She said there was no manager on duty. Which I find that hard to believe, when I started to get upset, she would put me on mute and come back to me when she felt like it. I will never book from them again. I am so upset because for me to take the time to write a review say's a lot, This actually is my first review in my 38 years of living.
The website takes the money and sends you to locations that are not livable. Ours had a smashed door no lighting and a crime scene 2 doors down! With no lighting in the room. But then they says its not their responsibility.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
