The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Stayed at a hotel in the west country that was no where near as advertised, so left a day early to get out of there!,, contacted booking.com to ask for the night be canceled and refunded as the hotel was not as advertised and 3 nights we had already been there was more then unbearable, booking. Com just dont reply!
Do these people actually have any way of contacting them? Terrible service and really shouldn't be in business with amount of unhappy customers

I recently made a reservation at a hotel in Rome, through booking.com. I purposely booked far ahead, so that I wouldn't have to worry about it a reservation at the last moment. To my surprise, my reservation was cancelled at the last moment due to an "invalid credit card". I checked the bank and there was nothing wrong with the credit card. It was clearly a ploy by the hotel and booking.com to attract a customer that would pay more for the room. DO NOT USE BOOKING.COM
Title says it all; arrived at hotel after a 10 hour day on the road- looked (and felt) like an idiot... had to continue to drive through to the next city but will not use this agency ever again
Booked a hotel with booking.com because they showed all of the hotels were booked and there was only one room left got into town check game and they had over 30 percent of the rooms left hotel was nasty couldn't get my money refunded because I use booking.com. Your best bet is if you're going somewhere and you check booking.com call the hotel because you can get it at a cheaper price and I have more availability than what they show don't be scared by there a little tactics like the whole town is sold out! Bad business for consumers
I am taking my mom to visit family in Austria in May 2017. I booked an apartment through Villas.com in November 2016. On Dec. 1/16 I received an email from booking.com stating that they had taken over Villas.com but that I didn't have to do anything - all except the owner stays the same.
On April 21/17 I was advised that my credit card on file had expired - on April 21 I updated my credit card information online and was sent a confirmation that I had done so.
Today - April 23/17 I received an email stating that my booking was cancelled as I did not have an up to date payment method. I tried to rebook the same residence but it would not accept my booking.
I called Booking.com and was on hold for 20 minutes. Once through to a live body I was told that it wasn't my fault - that it was there system that wasn't letting me book or rebook. They asked me to shut down the web page, clear my history and cache and try again. This didn't work. Then they asked me to create a brand new account. This didn't work. Then they asked me to wait 30 minutes (?) and try to do all the previous again. I asked them what would happen if in that time the residence I want is taken by someone else - how could I guarantee that I will still have this booking confirmed. The woman said, and I quote, "Yes, well, if you just wait the half hour then try it should work".
I waited 30 minutes, but also searched for the same residence on other similar web booking sites. In 30 minutes... same problem and what a PAIN having to recreate an account etc. etc.
Terrible, terrible TERRIBLE service, customer service... their mistake (by their admission) and no help whatsoever.
I found the residence on airbnb.com. Had it booked and paid for in five minutes with no issues whatsoever. In fact, I SAVED 29% since I was staying for an entire week!
Thank you airbnb.com. Booking.com??? NEVER - don't use them!

My 18 old daughter booked 3 nights in Barcelona as a present for her sister. The room was 100 per night. She received a email saying the Hotel would not honour the room and the room was now250 per night. After 45 minutes talking to a arrogant cocky lady she informed me no supervisor would talk to me. She then put me on hold again, then cut me off completely. This website is a disgrace and needs to be looked into by trading standards.
I booked a hotel via booking.com. Admittedly I was told there would be a 25% charge for cancellation. Fair enough! But I didn't want to cancel, I only wanted to change the date because our travel plans had changed. Booking.com were supposed to have contacted the hotel, to see if they would waive the charge. I don't believe they did this, as others in my party were able to change the booking they had made directly through the hotel without charge. I would never use booking.com in the future. One disgruntled, dissatisfied, never-to-return customer.
Your commercial with the kindergarten teacher is terrible. No kindergarten teacher would tolerate the behavior of those children.
This commercial is offensive, and portrayes teachers as ineffective and weak.
I booked a hotel in Dubai using booking.com but found out two days later the hotel was alcohol free! This was not indicated anywhere on the listing for the hotel on booking.com, so I phoned them and asked for a change of hotel, they refused as payment had already gone to hotel, and hotel refused to cancel (unless I paid full amount of booking fee again - over £1200). Booking.com did not even know themselves that the hotel was alcohol free, the guy I spoke to when trying to change my booking had to phone them to check. Even after that they still refused to change my hotel. I will never use this site again, I am now trying to get some of my money back under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act for misrepresentation of the sale of this hotel, and this is being dealt with by the Financial Ombudsman as my credit card is also refusing to refund me. What a nightmare!
I had a recent cancellation of a booking made through booking.com. They could have easily denied me or approved the cancellation. Instead they blamed the hotel for the fees. I also contacted the hotel who told me they had no control over the booking.com reservation and booking.com was not being truthful by blaming the hotel. I found this to be true after some additional digging. Would NEVER use this site again.
After booking a hotel that looked nothing like the photographs on booking.com they then completely ignored any questions I asked in correspondence after the fact and very soon stopped replying completely.
Would not honor price match guarantee purchase a room through them 4 on a specific amount then check the hotel two weeks later and it was $112 cheaper there they gave me the run-around booking.com said they would try also asked me to send stuff emails links to the hotel had them even call and confirm the price was cheaper and still they blame the hotel inside the hotel should we fund me when I booked through them booking.com in the hotel said booking.com get paid 25% and that my beef was with booking.com and not the hotel and I should use the hotel directly next time isn't that quick
We are staying at St Nicolas Elegant Residence in Paphos. On arrival, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Any requests are dealt with immediately. We stay in a lovely apartment spacious and clean with all the necessary equipment, big fridge microwave, oven, kettle etc. Relaxing view of the see and lovely pool from the big spacious balcony. Huge complex with great facilities, tennis courts, play park for children, sauna, indoor pool and gym. I will definitely return to St Nicholas Residence
Beware of booking.com... we had a very bad experience at a motel that we booked on booking.com. They made this place sound really great and made it sound very popular with "only 1 room left!" and it was their "top pick", etc. Booking.com bamboozled us! The Rodeway Inn in Winter Haven, FL was the motel and it was AWFUL... bed bugs, a strange odor in the room, very old and falling apart, the pool was filthy. We didn't stay in the motel because we were afraid to. There weren't ANY towels in the room when we arrived which we thought was strange but we left in a hurry so didn't think anything more of it until the manager/owner called us the next day and accused us of STEALING the towels and charged us $30 on our credit card. Booking.com sent us an email asking us to write a review on this establishment. I wrote a negative review and booking.com still hasn't published it on their website! If you ask me, booking.com is just as shady a business as the Rodeway Inn in Winter Haven FL. I would strongly advise against doing business with either one.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, no service, booked through booking.com at £80 a night, no breakfast included, one pillow per person, 4 coat hangers in cupboard, have to ask for toilet paper ( no spare rolls) in bathroom and they don't make the beds or clean the rooms. What am I paying for? Shocking and bad beyond belief. Booking.com does its reputation no favors keeping a hotel of this low standard in its list of hotels through which it portals bookings. Carol Theron. Booking no: *******595; 6092.
Do not use booking.com. They confirmed my reservation to me via email but did not make the reservation at the hotel. I had to make my own arrangements after arriving.
They took my money out of my bank account over $1000 without my permission they refuse to refund it very very bad business. For a reservation three months out now I know how come this app and website to make it so much money they're stealing it
One of the better examples how a hotel booking site should work. Easy to use with a clean interface, Used it several times and never had any problems. Five stars!
I booked one hotel in Italy without credit card details (booking number *******969). And when I had to cancel the booking later, I got message saying that 18 are deducted from account. Please deposit my money back.
In another case I booked one hotel with 10% charges (booking number *******933) and when I cancelled booking, I had to pay half of the hotel charge 70! This is not acceptable. In both cases I was not informed about there charges while booking.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
