The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

I booked a room in Milth Re di Roma via Booking.com at least 6 months before my trip, however a week before my departure, I got an email from Booking.com stating Milth cannot accommodate my booking and offered me an alternative for over £50 more. At this last minute especially during peak season, it was panic station trying to find alternatives. Furthermore, Booking.com's email stated that I can only file a claim AFTER my trip in which case, I would have to spend all the extra money first before they will "consider" my claim.
Anyway, when I went onto Google review attempting to leave my review of Milth, I was shocked to see a list of other victims scammed in exactly the same way! Even though I'm annoyed but if my cancellation was due to a genuine reason, that's understandable, but it seems it's all a big scam by Milth, yet booking.com is still happy to take bookings on behalf of a ongoing scam! Absolute shameful and disgusting of Milth and booking.com. Avoid both from now on.
Incase booking.com disputes this review, my booking ref is *******611.
Order to get low prices, the Children have been counting days and were so excited and out of a sudden 2 days ago we received an e-mail saying that the hotel cancelled our booking because we had 24h to respond to an email that booking.com has sent about an invalid card, Just 24h!, because we haven`t checked our e-mail that day, we lost our holidays. I have taken an annual leave from work, bought flight tickets and my children are still dreaming about those holidays. When I called the customer service, I have been told that there was nothing they can do, if out of a sudden you receive an e-mail and you don`t respond in 24h, your holidays are gone. They could have called me or use an alternative email or number. I`ll report this to the press. Never ever again Will I deal with booking.com
I booked a stay in Athens thru booking.com. First the date got changed on me (as I was searching which of course I did not noticed as I booked [date booked June 5, wanted July 5]). The next day I alerted the company about the mistake and ask if they could refund me the sum or book me into another accommodation. Come to find out, that the money went to private owner and this guy refused to refund the money (by the way do not book the apartment in Athens called "Welcome Home" - this guy is scammer). When ask how we can solve this problem they said we cant help you, contact the property directly (which I did and the Welcome Home property - no you lost your money). I booked for three nights (and I was willing to pay for one night) and they property is not willing to reimburse for at least two nights what!? In any case, no help from booking.com basic message: We cant help you!
Booking.com are fine until you have a problem. I was overcharged 411.20 euro by Hotel Magic Fenicia. I asked booking.com to look into the matter and they keep requesting the same information over and over again. I have forwarded this on at least 2 occasions, which is a big deal for me as I AM OLD, and have to get help from my grand-daughter to do it. Booking has NO INTENTION of sorting it even though I have been booking with them for years. BE CAREFUL. Carmel O'B
Have written a number of requests to explain why l was overcharged at different accomodations, providing bank statements as evidence.
It seems that the prices differ from the day of booking to the actual day of credit card charges. The taxes addd are very high as well.
I was overcharged by 10 dollars for accomodation l booked a week prior. The extra money was simply taken out of my account. When l asked for an explanation, none was forthcoming.
Contacted booking.com on many occasions, giving all evidence needed.
The matter is still unresolved, 3 month later.

The reps are pleasant and the site is set up nicely. However, if there is a problem or mistake, you will likely lose money. Book directly with the hotel and you do not have third party interference and costly delays in notifications.
Booking.com is the WORST. AVOID AVOID AVOID
It has now been TWICE that I've lost money to them because of fraudulant activity on their part.
They have tons of hidden fees that show up in the most obscure place on their site in order to trick you.
They state a TOTAL price, when in reality there are additional charges after you agree to pay.
They will charge your credit card in chunks so that you don't notice the huge fees on your account.
Their customer service is horrendous. No one can help you. There is no "manager" to speak to. Everything is your fault; even their fraudulent activity.
BEWARE booking through booking.com. It will only cause you a headache and a wasted day.
They do not facilitate anything for you with the hotel. Better off going direct through the hotel or booking through another agency. When I called to escalate my issue and speak to a manager, they informed me they do not have managers working in the call center.
We booked a hotel in Italy with free cancellation up to 14 days prior to arrival and at a price in sterling. I had no credit cards at all registered on my Booking.com account. 17 days prior to departure Booking.com helped themselves to full payment in Euros from an Amex card I had used a couple of years previously to book accommodation in the UK. This was completely unauthorised, and not at all the arrangement booked and incurred considerable currency transaction fees. I never use Amex for currency payment for this reason and was about to either pay in sterling in advance or email the hotel to confirm the Euro amount due to make sure we had it set aside.
I made a booking with booking.com which said Free Cancellation until a specific time and day which was less than 48 hours, when I tried to cancel within the time limit the property owner is charging me the full amount and booking.com is taking the property owners side. BEWARE... They make FALSE Free Cancelation claim on their website booking.com
Booked accomadation via booking.com we had issues with the property so after contacting booking.com for about 8 times I was getting no where so took the amount of compensation offered.
That was a mth ago and after numerous emails too many to mention giving details to where to issue the money I'm still waiting it's now been over a mth.
I would not book though these people and would not recommend anyone else to.
This is this second time this has happened to me with booing.com but it's definitely the last.
Go elsewhere no matter what as if you have any problems you will be wasting your time.
A team of liars and deceivers. They didn't send me the confirmation letter for the booked hotel but they refused to give me refund even though they had officially declared they would give refund. Their customer service is very low and unprofessional, and the CEO or managers' team doesn't respond to emails or claims adequately either. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND BOOKING.COM UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE.
I booked the Swiss hotel in Germany with Booking.com and did so with the assurance that I had the flexibility to CHANGE my booking or cancel it.
As it turns out, SwissHotel took over the booking and said it was not refundable!
Booking.com has a DECEIVING INTERFACE THAT FOOLS CUSTOMERS.
I would be very hesitant to ever use this company again.
I have book a hotel in Orlando Florida Booking.com said NO PAYMENT NEED IT!
WRONG... THE HOTEL CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD
Had a booking cancelled ON THE DAY of the planned stay after I had confirmed my credit card details. I had booked months in advance as I anticipated high demand in the area due to a large concert. Checked with the property and Booking.com had effectively gazumped my booking with another at the booked out property. Property couldn't care less due to zero vacancies anyway and Booking.com was as helpful as a clam full of cold water. Managed to find another better, cheaper room closer to the venue I was attending anyway. The sooner Booking.com and other similar under performers go bust - the better!
Says you can cancel anytime but once you book theres no cancelling, and if you want to cancel theres an insane cancellation fee. It will say low rate booking no cancellation and you can't even change the date, do not use this website!
They seem to have the best deals but when you arrive at the hotel it's a disaster. My room was dirty with a lot of damages. When it came to getting a refund the Hotel refunded $85 but Booking.com charged me $165 a night. The Hotel seemed to not have any knowledge of why Booking.com was charging so much. It's all a game.
Made a reservation one day and cancelled the next. THeir email for the cancellation said I would not be charged. However, I was charged a 30% fee by Kees Vacation Rentals for cancelling. Booking.com said they have to go by the hotels policy and not their own policy!
Rip off.
I came for a holiday to Thailand to relax and Booking.com has ruined what it was supposed to be s nice and relaxed holiday. First I booked in an island with no ATMs and received a confirmation email from Booking.com that my accommodation was paid so I arrived in the island with no cash money to pay for the hotel and when I arrived in the island the property has not received any payment. Thanks the owner was understanding and knew this common problem with booking.com so he helped me nut I could have been left sleeping outside and getting malaria mosquito bites because booking.com did not send the right information. When I called customer support to report my issue there was a very unpleasant lady on the phone. They ruined one day of my holiday. I traveled to other island and had booked a resort in a beach that I love and when I arrived the resort is in a different beach. When I arrived in the resort the property is located quite far from the location and booking. Com support does nothing about it at all. Never book with this site. They have spoiled what it was supposed to be a nice and relaxed holiday and now I am stuck in a horrible place where I did not want to be cause the company did a mistake. I am not rich and cannot take holidays that often and this company has only spoiled what it was supposed to be a beautiful holiday.
You clowns owe me money for canceling... you would have charged me if I was the one who flaked out of the contract... now I have had to pay quadruple the price to get a place in a location near my friends.
What are you going to do about this?

Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
