The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Did not provide amenities as stated in the booking. Poor management. Will not use booking. Com again
We recently stayed at Maplestone Hall in Shepton Mallet and had to leave after the first night. Reviews suggested it was clean and staff were friendly. Our experience was the complete opposite. Although Booking.com gave us one night and £20 back, we were told the B&B have refused the refund. We felt the need to let others know there is something wrong with the reviews of this B&B and booking.com have so far not allowed the publication of any photographs, which support our claim. Such a shame because we now feel as though we can't trust any reviews and if this continues, will not dare to trust reviews on booking.com again.
I was Browsing for an apartment suite as I was visiting London in summer, this was a trip I was planning for years. As I was browsing a saw an apartment suite. When I click on it said it was taken not available. S continued browsing. Till I found another apartment suite. I when ahead and booked it. 3 days later I got a notification that I had booked two apartment suites, at different locations and to cancel one of them. I called them and told them I had not done such a thing. They said it was my responsibility to pay for both and they don't have a cancellation policy even if it not my fault. I called my credit card company and we are fighting this matter.
Booking.com misrepresented propertiesand make customers to pay for their false advertisement
Booking.com misrepresented properties they advertise. As a result, I was overcharged for latest stay in South Lake Tahoe.
Hotel Becket Trademark Collection by Wyndham:
Overpriced Motel 6 on steroids. Except no water pressure in shower, either cold or hot. No access to the lake, have to drive to the crowded beach, disgusting breakfast, non eatable. All that for the price higher then nearby hotels of similar services with free access to private beach. If it is not for this overrated by booking.com... hole, Lake Tahoe vacation is the place to be! Majestic and unique!
My endless communication w booking.com to accept responsibilities misrepresenting everything: cost, location, quality of the hotel, did not finalize in any results. Booking.com dies not work w a customer as they should either to control properties they advertise or compensate customer for false advertisement. No booking.com for me anymore!
Horrible don't honor reservations left me sleeping in my car pregnant because they I booked for a night and the person before me decided they wanted to extend without booking online unbelievable
Their advertising is completely dishonest stating that it is "the last room" when it isn't, the cheapest in the area, when it isn't. I have asked them constantly to make sure bookers know it is up three flights of stairs, they won't.! We are looking at alternative ways of advertising our free rooms. They take 15% commission, ring the hotel direct they will almost always beat booking.com price! Awful company that should never be allowed to trade.
Hello everyone, I have a good experience. Staff very friendly. I recommend this service for every one.
Thank you!
I booked a night at "Quiet Stay" in Johannesburg, which was confirmed straight away. We got to the place around 10pm, knocked on the door, called, waited for a while, no one is answering! TOTAL SCAM
I tried to get a refund but they wont do anything, not even answering my messages! Worst customer service ever!
And on top of that I dont even get to write a review for this fake hotel.
Hello everyone,
My sad story.
Two months before actual vacation we (family) have paid in fully for vacation over booking.com
That was May.
And 3 weeks before holiday i have received email where i am notified that my fully paid reservation has been canceled.
I have tried to contact customer service at booking.com with over 10 emails in period of 5 days and no one answered even single one.
After that i have called them and i have recorded every single conversation. To make long story shorter i have more then 3 hours of recorded conversations.
From the first email i have stated that i am not interested in money refund but in holiday vacation.
Since now in the peak of a season i am able to find twice worse accommodation for a three times more money then couple months ago when i was booking my holiday.
From booking.com agents i was able to get help in form of search on booking.com and offering me to pay again for those deals.
Until last call.
There i was lucky to find a agent that openly told me that my reservation is canceled more then 21 days prior booked holiday time and that they, in those cases, do not anything.
That was first strait forward answer that i got and i am thankful for that.
Now i am stuck on a dry land.
I have family that would like to go on a holiday, but all decent accommodations are already booked.
I will get my money back, but that will last 45 days from the moment dispute has started. That is bit past my holiday time frame.
I have email and recorded phone calls that can be reviewed if needed.
Anyone have idea what can i do?
I rented a car through booking (rentalcars.com) and had a miserable experience! I had been a long-time customer of Booking.com and had reached a VIP status but will NEVER again book anything through them again. A big warning to anyone considering them: read the fine print and read everything they send you. Rentalcars.com is a 'scam' and has terrible reviews. That Booking.com associates with such bottom feeders means that they, too, have no ethics or standards. They kept $238 for providing NO service, no rental car as I had to pay the car rental company directly. Stay away!
Using this website for my business trips and when I'm on holidays, for the last 3 or for 4 years, mostly round Europe. Could not remember I had any issues with booking. The amount of actual discount, but not the marketing tricks can be bigger, other than that all fine.
I RESERVED A CAR FOR THE NEXT DAY AND THESE CLOWNS
CONFIRMED IT TAKING MY CARD AND ATTACHED A MESSAGE SAYING THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE CAR RENTAL COMPANY TO
CONFIRM AND IT COULD TAKE 48 HOURS. OF COURSE THAT WOULD NOT WORK SO I IMMEDIATELY CANCELLED THE RESERVATION AND THEY CHARGED ME A 59.67 CANCELLATION FEE. NO WAY TO FIND OUT HOW TO CONTACT THEM ON THEIR WEBSITE
Their "solution" to a flight cancelation was to have me buy a $150 Google Card. Stay away. Not worth the savings.
We booked a 4 star hotel in Scotland. Turned out to be a dump with black mold and bed bugs. We left in the morning and for 10 days now can't get out money back. Hotel is refusing to refund and Booking.com is doing nothing. We can't force them to refund they tell me. They defend the hotel and don't give a damn about the customers. Wrongfully so, it's customers who make their profits, not hotels. Without customers satisfaction those hotels are worth nothing to Booking.com. Half the the reviews are fake and nobody cares. I will think twice now before I use Booing.com again.
I rent a car though then, when I arrive to miami airport Alamo rent car do not accept the reservation so I call booking.com and they said can't refund my money, is incredible but they still my money, becare full guys
Never used this company but getting emails saying I have reservations... W. TF... I phoned them up and they said that "they don't check the identity of people using their site"... Again WTF... so this age of terrorists moving around the world they are potentially helping them!
No money has gone from my account, but somehow my details are being used ONLY on their site.
They didn't want to help, instead they are happy to allow someone to use someone else's details on their website.
BE AWARE YOU COULD BE IN A ROOM NEXT TO A WANTED KILLER, TERRORIST OR SOMETHING EVEN WORSE!
I am baffled by Booking.com and this is the second time they have done me wrong (and the last) but this one is the cherry on top. It's disgusting that they don't care about basic human rights, that they quote their policy of no refunds or cancellations even though my life was put in danger. I was threatened by workers of the hotel I prepaid for when I wanted to leave my luggage in storage the morning of my check-in date. It was so bad that I was in tears, shaking and left on the street. How was I supposed to return to that property to sleep? Well Booking.com believe I should have. They refused to offer any help with this matter, they did not contact the hotel based on my intimidation/harrassment complaint, they did not offer a discount on another hotel, they did not provide a credit, they did absolutely nothing and the hotel somehow has my money while I had to pay another $150 for a nights accommodation I had already paid for at a different hotel because I was threatened. Why do victims seem to have no rights? What a disgrace of a company. To not have in place a procedure that deals with unexpected circumstances like mine is appalling. As a young female traveller in a first world country I didn't ever expect to be treated so inhumanely by a hotel which you pay for services to provide you comfort and safety. Booking.com should be held responsible for advertising properties like this one as 9 out of 10 and having young females enter without a policy to protect them. NEVER USE BOOKING.COM. You will never speak to a supervisor, you will never receive a refund and you cannot complain to the accommodation because they will direct you to booking. I have notified the police and have provided my statement. I hope Booking.com loses many customers because of this review.
I booked a hotel through Booking.com. What a nightmare of a company to deal with. We arrived at our hotel after driving for more than eight hours, only to find the hotel closed.
After trying to find booking.com phone number, I was informed they needed to verify that the hotel was closed. There was a sign posted on the door from a Government agency, notifying of the closure.
Booking.com said they need to give the hotel a chance to respond before they would do anything for me. I was sitting at closed hotel, getting darker with two children.
They informed me they would call be back with a status within 30 min. One hour later I had to call them back.
After another hour being put on hold, I was informed they would switch me to a motel 6. I said that was unaceptable as I was close by this hotel watching drug deals in the parking lot. The lady said that is the best they could do. I informed them of the safety concern for my children and they absolutley did not care.
I did request to put in any other hotel and they refused because the cost was higher. I spent a total of 3 1/2 hours on the phone to no satistfaction and ended up driving through the night to my next destination. I would suggest that you never use this company again. I have booked through them before and was very dispointed in the hotel they represent.
My rent was collected by booking.com and due 15.06. Booking.don t pay it now 4 th. 07
Must inform everyone of their behaviour. Must i take an advocate to get my money or complain against them?
I booked an apartment in London for a family of 5 in April 19 and made an upfront payment with my credit card. 1 week before the arrival date in June 2019, I was told that the credit card was 'invalid" and asked me to update the card details. I did so as told for 4 times using 2 different cards but all came back as invalid. I rang the hotel who refused to say if my reservation was still valid or not and was asked to send them an email. Then 2 days later, I got an email to say the reservation was cancel. This was followed by the email to explain that my credit card was classified as high risk of fraud! Hence reservation was cancelled. They have already taken the payment successfully 2 months ago and then turn around to say my card was a fraud? Blatant liars. I am sure the hotel double booked and decided to cancel my booking last minute. Never booking.com again. If only I can give zero star, I would.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
