The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Booked a hotel for a week for 500$. They have an option online to have your check in date as unsure in case you are unable to make it your first night due to travel. I arrived 2 days after my check in date and was informed my reservation was canceled and that I would not be receiving a refund. I've emailed and called their customer service and get no emails back. Total scam of a website never use them.
Still fuming months after a booking with them. Deal included a free transfer from the airport to the hotel...when I booked no transport was included...Even when I showed them a screenshot with timestamp showing the deal, they mentioned it was not included...false advertising at best...
I would recommend not using this company. Booked a prepaid taxi for someone, the taxi was time sensitive for them to catch the train. The taxi no showed and only responded later that they couldn't come due to a family emergency and yet still charged my card for the full ride. Reaching a live person to troubleshoot the issue was not easy, once I reached a live person they could not help me. Finally was instructed to email the issue for them to investigate, once we gave them all info and asked if they would get our refund they ghosted us and never responded and did not give the refund. Currently working with my bank to dispute their card charges. Do not use this site, it reeks of scams and poor customer service.
Useless agents who do not listen or support customer needs. When booking hotel the app clearly said I had 23 hours to cancel for free. When I called within this time frame, they asked for 'evidence' of this message so refused to cancel unless I paid cancellation fee. Misleading site and do not recommend.
Dismal customer service. Don't use them! I booked and paid for reserved seats way in advance. They placed my six year old son on all alone away from us on the flight. When I called the customer service they did not help, told me to solve it with the airline, pay for seat reservation again with the airline and try to claim it back. When I asked to speak to a manager they refused to put me through. They don't care about customers whatsoever.
I went to my bookin.com account to cancel a booking. And this was reflected in my account as I completed this. And I was shocked when I went in again to find the bookiing still alive. I promptedly killed it with another cancellation and logged in to my account to ensure that it was indeed cancelled. Guess what, it resurrected and I was charged for cancellation fees. Booking.com insisted that I never cancelled because they did not send out a cancellation email and I did not take a screenshot of the notification of my account that updated cancelled. Please beware that with booking.com, you really have to ensure you receive a cancellation email. Otherwise, you may be paying a heavy price for their buggy system.
We were charged twice for a 4 night stay. We also only stayed 1 night because the hotel room was infested with bed bugs and cockroaches. We were bitten at least 100 times. We informed Booking and sent them pictures of the bites, the roaches and the double charges on my Visa. They kept saying they were not receiving our emails and basically refused to help us. We ended up paying for 8 nights, stayed 1 and were in a horrible room. They did nothing. Expedia would have been far more helpful.
I booked three rooms for me and my relatives in Istanbul from the website. The website gives incorrect information and incorrect pictures, and when I asked for my money back, the customer service employee advised me to complain to the website, and that my money is still on the website and has not been transferred to the bad hotel that I booked through the thief website. The amount I paid to the fraudulent site was not returned. I will suspend the site if I do not get my money back. Be careful when booking from this site because it is a fraud.
Booking.com is absolutely useless! We planned a holiday months in advance and paid them for a holiday home in Mossel bay. On the day on our way we contacted the owner of holiday home to let them know what time we would be there, they had people booked in the place already. We contacted booking.com and they said they cannot help us and we must book another place and pay again. This is absolutely ridiculous, we already paid them R******* and now we have to find another place and pay AGAIN! HOW CAN THIS BE RIGHT! We plan a holiday and finances, cannot just fork out more money to pay again. We have just arrived in Mossel bay now and have nonplace to stay tonight. This is the worst experience I have ever experienced and will NEVER NEVER use booking.com again. Absolutely USELESS
I used this service when I was in Poland they know how to make it look good and rope you into a booking and don't help if there is an issue you are on your own. I was charged for a room I could not get into I stayed in another hotel nearby and was charged for a room I could not use fighting with my credit card for a refund. It's only about the booking, not the customer be careful and look it over before you agree to the room.
I booked a hotel on booking.com, and although it was a non-refundable hotel room, I called the hotel to see if they would make an exception. They would not, which is fine, that's what I get for getting the non-refundable room. But then, the morning of my reservation, I got an email that my reservation was cancelled. And they are now refusing to refund me because this was a non-cancellable reservation...even though they cancelled it... at 8AM when check in was not until 3PM that day... and then said I was a "no show." Baseless claims from nitwits. Actual morons and thieves work at this company. I hope you sink under the weight of your ineptitude, booking.com. Worthless scumbags.
I rented a car through booking.com at San Diego International Airport for a family vacation. However, due to a flight delay, I arrived at the car rental center at 8:30 PM. To my surprise, upon checking my rental receipt, I discovered that the rental car company, Rental Car Café, was not located at the car rental center, and I needed to call them upon arriving via shuttle. Unfortunately, when I called the number, a recorded message informed me that the office had closed at 8 PM. Regrettably, I had not received any prior notification from Car Rental Café or booking.com about the closing time or a reminder for my pick-up. I had assumed that the car rental company operated 24 hours a day, and this information was not explicitly mentioned in my reservation details.
In an attempt to resolve the situation, my family and I waited at the Car Rental Center until 9:30 PM, trying to contact both Car Rental Cafe and Booking.com without success. Unfortunately, we had no other option, and my wife had to rent a car from Payless while I continued to attempt reaching Booking.com customer service.
Upon reaching the hotel, I contacted Booking.com by emails and by phone, but I was informed that there would be no refund. I was instructed to return to the airport the next morning to pick up the rental car from Rental Car Cafe. However, since I had already rented a car, I had no need for another one. I was forced to rent a car from another company because Rental Car Cafe had closed. The closing time was not mentioned anywhere on the Booking.com website or in my confirmation email. Despite this, Booking.com charged me the full amount of the rental fee for a car I never used. This experience with Booking.com has left a negative impression, and their lack of transparency may deter customers. I have decided not to use Booking.com again.
Neighbors have been hiring out there house for party's disrupting the neighbourhood, property damage, littering & drug deals
They take no responsibility for this
Don't use them for anything
Unexpected payment was made without adhering to the specified conditions outlined in the option I selected. I have sent a complaint to booking and never received any feedback
Not impressed at all how hard you make it to do a simple cancellation. I have tried all morning and all you are interested in taking more of my money Sad sad sad
I hired a car on their site on Friday December 8th and it changed the date after booking for some reason. I then tried to cancel or alter my booking and it said I cannot do that. They charged me a cancellation fee of the same amount of money I paid for the car rental. Which is absurd because it hadn't even been 30mins of booking. Im so heartbroken because I lost a-lot of money for nothing since I didn't use the car. These people don't care and like money. Ive deleted their app and never using their services again!
For the mere fact that they've never replied to people regarding their bad reviews or experience says a-lot. I wish nothing but bad luck/failure on this business in future.
BOOKING.COM – offshore multinational company that claims to refund cancellations,
But doesn't.
I found BOOKING.COM a very distasteful company to deal with and does not operate in a transparent or trustworthy fashion.
When you discover your money has not been refunded the 'customer service' centre passes you from one arrogant emailer to another, who deny responsibility, and happily blame you or your bank. You WON'T see your money again.
They will send you a copy of a fabricated refund document which has no banking confirmation on it.
From my personal experience dealing with this company there is a sinister undertone and lack of honesty.
Once you enter your details into the Booking.com website expect to receive SPAM and even have your details sold on to third parties.
You are far better to try another booking agent website and make sure it has an AUSTRALIAN base.
I booked my reservation for a one-night stay (August 2,2023) at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre through booking.com. I just want a receipt for my stay. I am getting such a run-around from booking.com and have yet to obtain the receipt.
Customers: Please be very careful when you reserve through this phony website.
Price gouging criminal. Rather than welcoming guests, the bait-and-switch operation lures travelers seeking a clean room, only to leave them as dissatisfied as Sopranos finale viewers. A simple reduction in charges was all that was needed
Through Southwest Vacations' partnership with Booking.com, I booked The Notary Hotel, Philadelphia for one night. The reservation was for one night, 2 Queens. When we checked in and got to the room, we found 2 Doubles. This was for a girls' weekend and we were to share the beds. We specifically booked 2 Queens for comfort, yet got Doubles. When I called to ask to switch rooms (and get what we paid for) the front desk said they could not accommodate the request. Bummer. Not sure who is at fault here, but it's not the consumer. A reservation should yield the correct reserved and PRE-PAID room!
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: booking.com has horrible customer service. Don't use them.
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: Can you please explain why you think Booking.com is not trustworthy please?
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
