Experience with Bark

The site itself is very good, however they need to do a much better job screening the potential clients. We waste and spend a lot of money on credit to contact thses people and they are not seriuos about hriing or just want to find out the cost of hiring a Investigation/Detective Agency. Also there 4 short screening questions are not good and they are givin options they should have like, If they have chosen Surveillance, Child Custody, Infidelity you then can not chose REMOTE on the next question as you have to be in the field for those cases. Which allows you to get a lot of unwanted leads. I have 158 responces they we have made and only gotten 4 jobs and we have spent over $1500 in the past 3 months on credits, as it cost so much per credits to respond AND it different amount of credits for each potential client. This site is a very good idea, but need a lot of tweeking and a little cheaper..

Waste of time

Most leads are complete time wasters and most of those replying to potential clients, are agencies just after another quick and cheap monthly to tie into a contract. There are much better options out there. I got the starter pack and they renewed it after I had nothing from the first lot of credits. I got nothing from the second lot either. If you try to make contact with someone and they never reply to an email or pick the phone up, you are still charged. Don't waste your time.

Many non responsive leads for the price

I just experimented with Bark spending a discounted $1400 roughly and out of that and a lot of fast connecting to people who report they are ready to hire or it's urgent, got approximately 7 people to actually have a time to talk with me and two became clients. 2 are interested and things came up.

Maybe 1 in 8 actually connect back.

Either the leads are too expensive or perhaps there needs to be another way to find out of these leads are actually viable.

I am trying it for a little longer, but it is expensive for the results and connectivity. I immediately call, then leave a message, only two people ever picked up right away. I send a text after the one click email goes out with a link to my calendar.

Quick and easy

I posted looking for a handyman to do a handful of jobs around our new home just after moving in. The app was easy to use and I was contacted within 5 minutes of posting my job. The worker was great and I am very happy with the whole experience. Will definitely continue using Bark to find trades people.

Almost no response

The quality of leads has gotten worse for the last year. I don't mind if they went with another photographer but, I usually get no response at all.We,pros, pay for a lead and I think that we deserve to get a response from a potential customer. They even don't try to communicate with me or negotiate the price...nothing. If they knew how to communicate, they would get a better offer from me but like they say, if you don't ask, you won't get it. If they went with another photographer, at least they should tell me about it.

I think if Bark continually improves, it will be a good source of business. Occasionally there are too many contacts that are inaccurate. Phone numbers are disconnected or emails bounce. My experience is still To Be Determined.

Over the course of my time with Bark, I have received very few referrals. The times I have reached out, the person was not a good fit or was not ready to do therapy. I have yet to have a referral convert to a client where my own networking efforts have a conversion rate of 95%. I was then very unnerved when the points I bought, stated to be without a deadline for use, were suddenly given an expiration date. I was told, "We can change the conditions of our policy". While they "graciously" re-instated the points, I found this to be a betrayal of trust. I do not intend to buy further points, for obvious reasons.

Have not landed a project

I have already responded to 45 leads since December 2024, and I have not had one hire as of yet. I tried different approaches to respond and can't seem to get a contract. When I call customer service representatives are helpful but now, I am wondering does anyone get hired via Bark? If it is free for clients to post, then they are not very serious about their requests. Anything free people are not vested in it. There should be some charge for people to be serious when they are posting their requests. It is somewhat unfair to have service providers pay but not the business owners requesting services.

Not much different than the other apps

After buying credits to be able to place my information on the leads that they provide I did get some actual people on the other side of the phone which is better than other apps I've tried. Extremely disappointed

I had seen advertisements about Bark and decided to give it a try. I find that 75% or more of the leads are garbage. The other 25% of leads feel completely overwhelmed because the vendors in my category swarm them like flies on honey.
So it's not a very positive experience for the leads looking for the vendors.
Then the worst part is that Bark advertises very low prices, as if we work for them and that establishes a low expectation in the mind of the customer! Then when the lead gets our legitimate price they are surprised and discouraged.
I've spent a good amount of money with Bark to truly see what it was all about and I can tell that Bark does not care at all about the users or the vendors who are on the platform. As long as Bark is making money. I will not be staying because it is such an amazing waste of my advertising dollars!

Quality of leads and service dropping

I get significantly less bookings through Bark as I did 12 months ago and use other platforms more so today. This is due to lead conversation dropping; more unresponsive leads, more leads that did not know they were placing an ad for services, more general enquiries rather than genuine opportunities.
As a DJ, it would be useful to know if a client/lead has booked a venue. There was also some great info on lead regarding their budgets for the project, this was great at identifying the right type of lead for a business - sadly this was removed.
