Mixed results

Was looking for a personal trainer after moving to a new city, got a few matches but only one person reached out to me. So I got what I was looking for but I dont think the platform is one I would use again.

Great service slate replaced and roof fixed SAME DAY as contacting bark. The roofers SCM were exceptional too, the whole apex was re rendered and looks fantastic.

We have been using Bark for some time and appreciate that we are not going to be appointed on every job.
Recently we have been receiving contact details from Bark which are not valid.
The phone numbers are not verified by Bark.
Last week we contacted a potential client and in this case the number was valid. However they had not placed an advert that day but actually over 12 months earlier.
Bark will refund the credits if you prove that the number is invalid, however time has been wasted.
We will not be using Bark again until they can confirm that numbers have been verified.
I was advised that numbers cant be verified as they receive so many

It's patently obvious to our organisation, more so, after running countless checks, that Bark are actively involved in running scam project requests.

It's amazing how many people we've contacted via bark who have no idea their telephone number is on the website, and have certainly not even requested work.

It's our intention to submit evidence as we initiate legal proceedings against them.

Money making scam
June 12, 2020

Bark is supposed to match up clients with service providers. Service providers pay a premium for the leads of about £12 per lead. Very few clients respond to the service providers because they are spammed by Bark leading to confusion and overwhelm. Thus neither the service providers or the clients get their needs met. However, Bark does very nicely out of this arrangement.

If you are in Australia and about to subscribe to this service and you are unsure, read this first.

I never write reviews but I can't express how extremely annoyed I am with this service at Bark. The customer care is great but the actual Leads are either fake or useless.

If you are in Australia and are a service provider, don't waste your time.

Times are hard as it is, why throw money down a hole on a service that not only wastes your time and effort but also tarnishes your brand as you end up calling innocent people who have no idea why they are being approached?

I am surprised how they have so many short answer "happy reviews". These might also be a tactic to reel unsuspecting service providers such as yourself in.

I tried to look for reviews elsewhere on the internet and discovered the facebook ones are switched off- maybe because they can't "fake" those ones.

Such a red flag.

All I really wanted was a genuine service to put me through this tough season and little did I know I was throwing myself into this little charade. Now I am out $520 and nothing to show for it.

I might be wrong, but I know it takes a lot for me to put myself out like this, hope you tread with caution.

I used all the credit in good fortune. Got 12 "leads" but none of them were even close to useful.

This is $520 I am talking about and In these hard times, who has that much to waste?

Do yourself a favour and save yourself the misery.

Either these guys are not ready or they are jokers.

Your brand that you have worked hard to build and the money you have worked hard to earn, should not be flashed down this drain.

If you decide to go ahead and get success, please come and prove me wrong- happy to take this review down, as I think this is a lot of hot air.

Then If you give a genuine review- you are just brushed off like you mean nothing on this earth.

I think that the Bark system is good in some ways but the charging system for leads needs to be changed. It is way too expensive for service providers / freelancers as many of the jobs are not real jobs and it costs money to buy a contact even if they are not serious about hiring. As a service provider I am happy to pay a small amount of money for genuine leads, but often leads/job are posted with very vague information. Some clients are just fishing for a price but not intending to hire anyone. If I need to contact a potential client and ask for more information before I can quote, I am still charged by Bark even if the client does not reply. If a client is not willing to answer questions / discuss the job then I think that these are not genuine leads. In this case I think that Bark should not charge or should refund the credits.
I just purchased a lead and immediately the potential client cancelled their request, it seems very unfair that I should pay for this lead, if I had waited a few minutes then the lead would not even have existed!
