Wrote a review for a contractor on Bark.com. It was uploaded but when I checked again after 10 min, it was removed. Now I understand why seeing that contractors pay money to be on the website, ofc the reviews are controlled to reflect the best interest of the contractors. Just warning customers to be careful when using this website to hire for their next project. I lost thousands of dollars because of them

JL evolution LTD did a bathroom remodel. Please see their finished work. They refused to refund me claiming they did the work (regardless of what quality they left it). I consulted with other accredited bathroom renovation groups and all said these guys are not professionals and have no idea what they are doing and probably just followed along a YouTube video. There were over 10 major issues identified including wrong materials used, wall not installed properly. Plus other minor issues. They basically destroyed my bathroom and charged me $1,000 for it.
Yet on Bark, they got a 5 star rating and my review for taken down immediately after uploading.

I have been trying endlessly to STOP RECEIVING SPAM from your callers.

If they do not stop calling me, I will be calling the police.

Nowhere on the website does it allow me to cancel my account or remove the phone number or email.

Please REMOVE my phone number and email IMMEDIATELY!

I selected Thomas Betts & Co Limited to create an en-suite in the Victorian farmhouse my partner and I bought in 2020 from a local magazine, having seen a range of his advertisements. Little did I know how critical that choice was to be.

Nicholas Fuller who heads up the company is one in a million. He has a prodigious knowledge of historic properties and a deep understanding of how these can be brought back to life and made to function efficiently in the 21st century whilst totally retaining their authenticity. His attention to detail is superb and he will go out of his way to source the perfect item to ensure that it is in keeping with the period of the original building.

What makes Nick so unusual is that he is a man of his word – what he says he will do, he always does. He is only prepared to 'do the job once and do it well' which makes the finished product not only look stunning but ensures that behind the scenes everything has been properly done, is structurally sound and responsibly restored. He is not capable of being anything other than a true professional.

Furthermore, Nick is a man who likes people and whose philosophy of life leads him to want to be positive, supportive and kind. During the renovations of our property, which have lasted a year - through no fault of his own - Nick has proved to be a wonderful friend and support to me during the illness and subsequent death of my partner. He has been empathetic yet practical, advising me on a range of decisions yet encouraging me to make my own choices by giving me well-reasoned arguments and clear options. I could not have continued with this huge project without his support. His workmen respect and admire him, his prices have been fair and reflect the cost of a job well done.

The renovations are now complete, the house is sold, subject to contract and I have everything to thank Nick for. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Bark is a SCAM

Yes, they send you boxes, but just try to cancel your account! I waited until the 5th month of a 6 month subscriptions, and cancelled. Instead, they renewed me and told me I can't cancel for another five months. I say this is FRAUD!

Total scam

I perched starting package, but after I used it they start to charge my credit card without my consent. They guarantee that from first pack you will get a customer, but the quality of leads is poor. The support is awful, always hang the phone and don't want to listen. They don't want to understand what is your problem just gives you script answers.

Problem solved

The company is miserable. They just want to charge you high amount without providing any services. I was given a discount of 30% by Miss Deeksha on phone even after I requested so much to her to provide me 50% discount. But she said that 30% is the best she could give. In the meantime, I received a message for 50% discount link. I subsequently questioned bark executive why I had been charged higher amount and to refund the excess amount. But he refused to help me out.

Update:
After conversation with manager of Bark, we were able to come to a compromise and sorted out the issues. No issues anymore.

Because this may not be clear when you sign up. You are paying for leads whether you get hired or not. There is NO GUARANTEE. You will not get your money back if you do not land any business. Your account will be refreshed 1 time with 90 credits. That's it. How much are credits? On average about 10 credits. You have between 18 and 20 chances to land a new account. YOU PAY BARK WHETHER YOU GET BUSINESS OR NOT. BARK GUARANTEES THAT THEY WILL GET PAID BY YOU REGARDLESS OF YOUR SUCCESS.

About one of every five leads is an actual legitimate consumer that initiated a search which puts me at $300 spent for two legitimate leads. Where they're getting the other false leads is unknown to me but it deserves an FTC investigation nomination. This review is based solely on my personal experience with Bark and the stats as well. I sincerely hope that other people have had more success obtaining leads than I have. I feel like a chump who got ripped off and I'm not at all liking the humiliation.

As a lead generation company this service is horrible! You loose credits on leads even if they don't respond or contact you back. Attempting to get a refund or a credit is a joke. Honestly the worst experience I have ever had! I truly will not use this service again. Be forewarned! Don't waste your money! The leads they provide are either fake or didn't really request to be contacted.

Horrible customer service. They promote a get hired guarantee. It is a scam. Never get anything from Bark expect bad leads and bogus phone numbers. Absolutely no hires from that the elite pro so asked for my credits back, I was told to get lost in nice way. I feel that I got ripped off by this company and I will never recommend bark or use them again. They are a scam.

Not worth the money topped up with the starter pack said it was 51 pounds for first time, didn't give me the discount phone and they just blamed on vat asked for a refund told me no they don't give money back. Just be careful with this as they are only out to grab money didn't help me at all. Would of given 0stars if I could

We looked into about 20 leads with their "if you don't get a sale we will give you credits back" promotion. We used all 100 of them and not one lead closed. Of the ones that did answer, most didn't know why were were calling. We only had one potential sale but fell through due to "not the right time". We are in pest control company so I have a hard time believing these issues can wait.

Customer service suggested I call the clients. Thanks like I never thought of reaching out to them...
