Business users beware

As a small business, we rely heavily on on platforms like Bark to secure Leads. It's up to us to connect and convert. Our challenge is that on multiple occasions we've purchased a Lead to only discover it was a scam or the end user "did not want to be called back" or was "unaware I was requesting to be contacted", and that's if they even respond at all.
If you're not familiar with Bark, you pay in advance to contact Leads. Once you reach out to a potential Lead, your account is debited. You can't buy small amounts of credit as they only sell packages so they can ensure you're using the platform for a significant period of time.
This makes it incredibly frustrating when you realize the majority of Leads are not real causing you to chase fake people and thus waste your credits and time.
If you reach out to customer support, they may or may not respond, especially if it's an email. (I'm still waiting for a resolution from weeks ago for another fake lead.) Yes, I have been credited on occasions however, it's time consuming.
Please note, this is not to say you can't find business on the platform. Of the 24 Leads purchased, only four actually responded/picked up the phone with two leading to booked small business since we began using the platform in March of '22.
That means twenty of these "Leads" never responded. Makes it hard to believe they were real since inputting your data is no small feat and the response time was within hour(s) of receiving.
All in all, stay away. Until Bark can verify the users requesting information are indeed legitimate, this platform is not worth the investment of your money or time. (Tried to upload proof of purchase but was not successful)

Horrible.

I wish I would have looked this company up before making any purchases.
They are trying to be like upwork, except upwork credits you back for credits on jobs that they deem scam or unfit.
I made a purchase, got NO leads and was corresponding and they recharged my card claiming I signed up for auto pay. I didn't. I never checked any box saying I wanted autopay and I never got a notification saying I was almost out of credits or out of credits.
Then I get a promo code, so I enter it in the promo area and it doesn't even take me to a checkout, in fact I didn't even agree to purchase credits. They charged my card which should have been taken off of file.
This company is violating consumer rights and they need to have a class action lawsuit brought on them for their lack of accountability and the fact they just think they can charge credit cards without authorization!

Don't loose your money

Bark is application where supposedly helping you to get Clients. My experience with Bark is bad, you have to buy ""leads" and them send to you a hundreds of names supposedly people need the service, which I have doubt if it is true Cause in certain occasions people send me a message to Stop sending a message (just one message). And people never call you or send a answer cause they just one a cheaper prices.
That's what I say don't loose your money and other point is they took a money from my card for leads I didn't buy.

Cold Leads
September 14, 2022

Hi all I am new to bark and spent money on leads. I am at times the first person to reply BUT no clients answer the phone, reply to voicemails, texts or emails?

I have had replies on some BUT no replys have happened a few times and really eats away at your credits, which are roughly is 10£ a reply_ it is throwing money up the wall. Why would clients put out for jobs, you reply within the hour and nobody answers any communication?

I have since thought, maybe I was beaten to it? But I was the 1st to reply and after reading reviews on here, I am not the only person in this position.

Be careful, read the reviews before buying credits. I have also contacted the team at bark. I believe something should be in place that if no-body answer you get credited back after so many days as 5 tradesman could be doing this getting no reply, especially in the current crisis climate

Guaranteed not Guaranteed

I signed up with Bark and paid to receive 80 credits with a "guarantee" to get hired at least once and if I did not then they would credit me 80 more which they did. With that 2nd 80 I still did not get hired. I called and asked Bark about it and I was told that "Guarantee" is just what the platform was called but no they don't actually guarantee that you will get hired. After I used up the 2nd set of 80 credits, I received a message from a lead saying they were interested in hiring me and to contact them. I believe Bark is set up to entice and keep you coming back to spend just a little more and a little more until you have paid several dollars and still may not get hired. I am very disappointed at the false marketing strategy used.

Best caterer

Booked Lili from Elite Kitchen to cater two very important events, my daughter's engagement and my husband's birthday. We, along with all our guests were so impressed with the food, (great quality)from the passed hors d'oeuvres to the mains and desserts everything was top notch. The food was beautifully displayed and organized. The bartending staff were professional and on point. They didn't miss a beat considering we had very large crowds to be served. Lili and her staff are simply terrific. If you are looking to impress your guests... Book Elite you won't be disappointed.

Easy and efficient
August 6, 2022

I used Bark for the first time and I am quite impressed. I was looking to get some quotes from construction companies as I am extending my property (rear extension). On the day I made the request, two companies already expressed interest, by the next day the companies were 4.3 of of 4 sent a person for survey the property within 5 working days and quotes were provided the following week.

Pretty useless

Despite one company showing interest in my posted job there subsequent lack of contact leads me to believe this is an other useless company making promises it cannot keep. Gave them a chance and they failed miserably.

Bogus leads
August 28, 2022

I purchased a starter package with Bark. Have used nearly all of my credits which is about 10 customers. Contacted all of the leads by email and phone, with no response from any of them. One was a customer who apparently asked for me personally to contact them, and got no response. Feel like this place creates fake leads to get your money. Would highly advise against using your hard earned money for this sight. There are several other ways to promote and get business!

Retrofit Landscaping is a lovely team!
They are highly qualified, organized, hard-working, courteous, honest, responsible, attentive, and sweet!
They do a thorough job - are efficient and detailed... want to do what the customer needs/wants and communicates well... come with a trailer full of tools, lawn mower etc.
I highly recommend Retrofit Landscaping - so happy we found them! Their positive, kind, and calm energy adds another layer of specialness to our garden.

Scheme. Stay Away!

The credits purchase scheme is terrible. You buy credits to find jobs. And when you try to contact the jobs, they were already done, and you keep losing your credits. I requested a refund and they denied. Terrible business. They're the only ones profiting. And the jobs are very low paying tasks. I'm starting a charge back.

As a qualified therapist I had some gaps in my private practice and got some marketing email from Bark, which is how I came to hear about them. I decided to give it a go to see whether it was worth it.
It was not.

I have given this feedback openly to Bark and thought I would share it here too for other qualified health professions considering using their platform.

Offering therapy in the way Bark has set it up for potential clients to fill in is set up to fail. Potential clients should not be able to tick boxes about what they think their issue is, but rather to be given a blank space to write a paragraph or a few on what they'd like to work with. This demands of them some real thought, and some actual input of their thinking and time to write this description, which already filters out those who are genuinely seeking help, from the overwhelming majority on their site who are just "testing the waters" but have no intention of following through with a therapy session. Time is wasted following up with people who have no intention of replying.

The way the platform is worded clearly gives people looking for support through a therapist or counsellor the impression that the services are free.
The pitifully few responses I did get (a total of 4 out of the 25 people I contacted) replied saying that they could not afford a therapy session.

Lastly, I was emailed at some point by Bark with the news that I was their "Top Successful Therapist". This is entirely ridiculous. I don't know how I can be called "Bark's most successful therapist" without any client responses, let alone an actual client gained.
Clearly their data analytics is skewed towards placating people rather than providing useful and constructive (and honest) information.

Would not recommend any health professional waste their time on this platform.

The customer service is the poorest that you will ever find. They send you stale leads. I have called leads within minutes of them being sent to me. A lot of the time people have said they already hired someone days back. Their leads are stale. Try telling them about it? Good luck with that. As you can see from all their "standard" scripted responses, they will simply refute everything. Whoever runs this outfit should be investigated for business ethics and practices.
