I honestly had very high hopes of making bark another website to get leads from. They suckered me in by stating if I used up my credits and didn't get booked they would allow me to get my credits back and start again. I have been on the website for quite a few months and have spent quite a bit of money and have yet to get booked. Most of the customers never reply to messages or answer phone calls. Many of the leads I feel aren't actual people, and many of the numbers don't work, and I can count on one hand how many people have actually replied. I have other sites I use and the work isn't as frequent but at least I get legitimate leads.

Total SCAM!

This company sadly took my money sent me fake phone numbers none worked! And I messaged their fake emails and received ZERO REPLIES! I called and spoke to the customer service and they gave me the ring around.
They said to email them I tried several times and they said to call them ‍ WE LIVE IN A MESSED UP WORLD WERE THESE PEOPLE SCAM HARD WORKING SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS! Dont waste your time or money! Completely disgustingness!

They reply back with some fake generic lie comment below. The numbers they provided dont work. All of them says the numbers invalid when you call. Please BEWARE ONLY WRITING THIS TO HELP OTHERS

Charlie contacted me within an hour of my logging the request. We exchanged a photo of the work required and he provided a verbal estimate. Charlie attended my property the next day and completed my gutter repair within half an hour. He charged me in line with his estimate. It has since rained very heavily and my issue has been resolved. Excellent work from this young man. Highly recommended. I am a private homeowner.

I used Bark to find someone for some landscaping Kyle Bond Landscaping responded to my request promptly and came out to give me a quote He had a fair price and I hired him to do some stonework flagstone and small wall around my garden He was meticulous in his work I was very satisfied and would highly recommend him

Misleading
November 12, 2022

I recently bought their service to help the requests they sent for counseling services. Called one number which was an invalid number and the second number the guy that answered said he had no idea who listed him on Bark for counseling services -probably a scam. When I called Bark they were unwilling to give me a refund. Please save your money and do not support these scammers!

Regret

Hired 3 "professionals "
None did a good job. 1 ghosted me for $850 I'm going through my credit card to get my $$ back.
One was unscrupulous over charged me big time for $600 should have been maybe $100.
One never returned my texts.
I asked bark if they vet any professionals that work for them.
They answered no!
All about money!

Oh well, I joined a few weeks back very excited, because they guarantee your money back if you don't get a hire. Sounds decent right? As I didn't get any clients before even I could understand what was happening they charged me again saying that "When you make your first purchase it is stated that auto top-up will be turned on, if you would not like this feature to remain on it is easy to turn it off." It took me 30 minutes to figure out how to deactivate it. I am requesting a full refund and keeping their credits as I am not interested in working with them. The customer service rep gave me a short and blunt answer without really answering my refund request. Very disappointed

Worse experience ever ive been on bark for quite a while now as a technician and I follow all the rules in relation to lead returns. And i had specific information from the customer as she no longer wants a job done at all and i was ment to be entitled for a refund for that credit and i spoke to a consultant at bark immediately she was such a rude and unprofessional employee i wished that she gets treated with the same exact respect as she gave. Im so upset i will definitely be taking my business elsewhere i 100% do not recommend this place to advertise ur business as there definitely against you not with u its like i have done something wrong to her. Such an ungrateful person. Please everyone avoid this by staying away

Sadly not cost effective

Credits cost a lot, and you do not only use credits for replies, you use them to contact leads for work etc. The credits go so quickly, and no one rarely replies, we have 55 leads, contacted 12 and had 1 who didn't want to pay fuel charges due to distance. You have to put a lot in, to get little out.

Waste of money and time

If you are considering to spend money to get leads through BARK I would advise you to go as far as possible from this app! After purchasing about 20 leads I didn't get any work through this app, many of the leads that I tried to contact via phone call email or text didn't respond or phone number was not in use anymore. After being present constantly on the app for 3months got 5 responses with NO WORK and notice that it is a big SCAM!

Not a real guarantee

I purchased their starter pack, under the auspices of a "Get Hired Guarantee." I didn't get any traction from my first set of leads, so I took advantage of their so called guarantee. True to their word, they refilled my original credits. I then reached out to more potential customers. All told, I reached out to 16 different customers. No work. Only 2 actually even reviewed my profile. I reached out via email, text, and phone. Nothing.

I then messaged support. Their response to me was that they don't "guarantee work" - which seems fair to me, except that it flies in the face of their "get hired guarantee." It's one thing if people checked me out and hired someone else, but their leads that cost 25-30 dollars should lead to at least being viewed.

Their leads are a joke. The Guarantee is not a guarantee. I should have gone with my hunch in the other reviews and ignored them. But their Get Hired Guarantee is an outright misleading statement. It's dishonest statement. Stay away.

I'll be filing a complaint with our consumer protection service. I know what their fine print says, but to publicize "Get Hired Guarantee" and then to tell you they don't "Guarantee Work" - they can't both be true. I'm also going to try and find a class action lawsuit.

Removing tree
September 11, 2022

Was happy with Bark in terms of website and clearly laid out. Was impressed how quickly they found a number of professionals who could cut my tree down. Was then contacted by one who then was able to cut my tree down. This happened within two days of registering with Bark. Excellent website and service. Will be happy to use them again in future.

Amazing Service
September 11, 2022

So I had been looking to appoint an architect for my self build and decided to give Bark a try.
I selected the architects in my area I was interested in and they did the rest.
Within the space of a few hours I had emails from all 3 architects I was interested in and they arranged call backs.
I got 3 quotes and within 3 days I had appointed an architect for my project and could not be happier with the result.

I have been with Bark since January and have purchased the lead pack and got the free one when I didn't get any orders. So far I have purchased around 30 leads and out of that maybe 7 or 8 asked for a quote. Only 2 were serious enough to get payment started, but ended up ghosting me and withdrawing there lead from Bark.

I wouldn't recommend investing very much in the Bark system. Wasted time and money on them.
