It's worse phone service
December 21, 2021

I get it free but at least I expected a decent phone. 20 replacement phones later. I don't have a normal phone like a Samsung. Sucks I can't afford a decent plan or nice phone. Use to having a phone that doesn't work fast, no space, slow data. It's hell. I can't have a nice phone now. Can't afford it.

I was approved, got an approval letter, and its been over a month, haven't received a phone. On top of all this crap, Ive called numerous times to assurance wireless and they are rude, give me the runaround, hang up on me, even the managers hang up. They lied several times. They say so many different stories. They are a nitemare to deal with.

All phones they have sent me have been almost unusable. I buy refurbished phones, for years, they work. Only changing when Assurance says it's not compatible with their latest BS. Recently I got the sales pitch over my 3 year old phone, what a mistake! #1 new phone, 2+weeks wait, no one could hear me, OS was bad, loaded with bloat wear. Returned, #2- after waiting a week+, sent UMX U683CL can't pull a signal unless it's using another hub, going outside! Then it wouldn't charge! OS to blame, I'm so done!

Horrible.
December 9, 2021

The one star is for the cheap price. My phone was stolen and two weeks ago, I called and was told that I'm eligible for a once-a-year free replacement phone and it was being shipped. Also told I would "be reveiving an email pertaining to my order shortly". I checked my order status about 10 days later, and no orders. I call and was told the order didn't get approved because I wasn't with them for a year yet. So I pay for a new phone, and they charge my account. Two days later, still no email. Also no order history in my account online. I call again and the only thing I can get out of these people who are mainly just reading off of a script is "no worries, all you have to do now is wait". Well it may be "no worries" for them, especially after they took my money, but I use my phone for work so it's kind of a worry for me. Never again...

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Repeatedly promised results that never occurred. Told different answers each time contacted. Waited over a month for phone delivery

Number 1 worst Lifeline program for America! I've been with Assurance wireless since 2019 and the only phone I've been able to use is there $#*!ty UMX which has Malware built into the O. S intentionally done by the Chinese who manufacture them. Tax payers money is going to China in return for compromise devices that pose a security issue for millions of Americans who use this $#*!ty company as a Lifeline phone every day.

Nice customer service, but aggravating
December 2, 2021

Many months ago I purchased extra data. The top-up plan was 2 gigabytes for $10. Mobile data stopped working in a day or two, which would be impossible unless I was watching videos all day. It typically takes me a week to go through 2 GB.

I could see from my data usage that I wasn't even close. My bank was charged the $10 but Assurance never credited the 2 gigabytes to my account. I called customer service 3 different times to get it resolved. Each time they would credit a dollar to my account to appease me.

I found this very aggravating. I got ripped off for $6. They could look at my account, see what I paid for and check it against my data usage. Simple, basic math. I gave up because I got tired of calling. One positive thing I can say is the customer service agents are very nice, but they never did solve my problem.

A month or two later, I bought the same data package: 2 GB for $10. It worked this time, but a week later I signed up for Emergency Broadband Benefit, which gave me unlimited data. I didn't even bother trying to get a refund for the $10 because dealing with customer service is such a hassle.

Zero Rating
November 23, 2021

Customer service is in Phillipeans. You cannot understand them and they do not comprehend anything unless it is written in their script. I have spent 5 DAYS trying to get my old phone number ported to my new phone. All they can say is I must have a third phone for them to call me back on in case there is error or disconnect. If I had a third phone, why would I need Assurance Wireless phone? NO PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS AT ALL!

It is very great
November 18, 2021

Assurance Wireless is one of the best lifeline company to be in. As a customer, I have experienced good treatment from them since day 1. I talked to a woman in the Phillipines named Shina or China and she was so great. The phones are great along with the service and they can even give you an upgrade for free

Tears
November 14, 2021

The worst experience ever! Going on a week with no phone, no help, and no way to port my old number to a new service. All any representatives do is paw you off to someone else with no resolution! On hold for hours just to get another person who doesn't seem to care at all. Worst experience I've had with humans- truly a company that needs to be take out back and shot. They are doing more harm than good!

Been waiting 35 days for replacement phone. Called again today, got another lie and story not heard from the last 3 people I spoke with. Got fake tracking number from last person that assured me my phone would be here today. NOT! SO NOW IT WILL BE ANOTHER 14 TO 21 DAYS TO WAIT. ASKED IF I COULD PAY TO HAVE IT FED EX, WAS TOLD NO WAY TO DO THAT. UNBELIEVABLE!

Poor service
November 10, 2021

While i'm tempted to, i don't fault the csr's for their poor service. They are employed in the phillipines. I've been there while i was in the navy. It is no wonder why a/w outsources there. Labor costs are extremely low, govt regs extremely lax, training as minimal as possible. There is no aacountability.
A/w is a company that thrives on govt funding.
I've checked their website. They are owned by verizon, sprint.
This should say something about verizon & sprint. Does bait & switch come to mind?
My phone crashed earlier this year. They sent a replacement. I sent the defective one back.
Later this year, replacement phone crashed. They claimed they never recieved the defective phone from earlier, hence they couldn't replace thus one.
After numerous lengthy, stressful phone calls (from an alternate borrowed phone) the issue was resolved. They admitted (this is true!) they had received the phone. So now they could send a replacement for the current defective phone. This was in mid-september '21. Then they say covid is preventing them from sending the replacement. Then they say replacement phone should arrive soon. Yet they refuse to give a tracking number, saying r. P. hasn't been shipped yet. (covid).
In closing, boycott assurance, sprint and verizon (as sprint & verizon own assurance). Don't fault the csr's, as they are just trying to earn a living, and are paid slave wages and are untrained. The corporation heads are at fault.

Rip off
November 4, 2021

Purchased an I phone 7 directly from assurance, they charged me $275. Shortly after received an e mail from them saying they would no longer be supporting my phone but would be replacing it with a cheap android phone. Assurance ripped me off for $275. They won't refund my money or replace it with a comparable phone. They just sold me a piece of crap they knew they wouldn't support for above market price. I am filing a complaint with the state Attorney Generals office.

I have had this company for at least 10 years. The first few years it was great. Then customer service and the phones they were sending out got worse and worse! Cut to Oct 2021, I cracked the front of my Coolpad completely. I called to replace and they swore they would send another updated Coolpad. 2 years ago they were sending out these horrid phones that you couldn't get WIFI IN YOUR OWN HOUSE! They said they knew these phones were crap. Guess what they sent me?! I now have a phone I cannot text 1/2 my people on and can't get wifi in my own house! You also cannot get Netflix and many other reg apps everyone needs! This is being sent from my old broken phone which thank God, I can still use for wifi but can't call out now! Do not let them see you a UMX PHONE!

Slave Phone
October 30, 2021

Assurance Wireless provides a slave clone phone to the unknowningly general public(black phone) and a master clone phone (white) to the Mafia-Taliban domestic criminal network terrorist operative. The master clone phone has total capability over the slave clone phone and with cyber attacks that cause spooky operation, multiple account and software operating system changes that keep the slave relearning how to operate the slave clone phone. Sending important emails to outbox that will not send and can not be recovered. Queued is another cyber attack that prevents sending emails that also go to the outbox. The Mafia-Taliban operative uses "Near By Share" that is undetectable by antivirus software. You have to use the share feature to detect the shared device (master clone phone) and sign it out.
