The overall reputation of Ashley Madison is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to the prevalence of fake profiles and perceived scams. Many users express frustration over the high costs associated with the platform, which they feel exploit their desire for genuine connections. While some customers report occasional success in meeting partners, the overwhelming sentiment is negative, highlighting concerns about financial exploitation and inadequate customer support. Despite its established brand presence, the company struggles to address these critical issues, leading to a lack of trust and a recommendation to avoid the service.

This site is packed with some very cold women who must believe they have a golden $#*!. Return emails are rare and more often as not, the rejection will come with little or no explanation. I am very polite and try to act like a gentlemen and all I expect in return is a little courtesy. I may not be the handsomest man or the cleverest but there is no need to be rude. Perhaps the women on this site prefer to be treated like dirt. BTW, the one star is for the members of AM not AM itself.
This site is packed with ugly old men that lie about their age. Some even post pictures of younger men to get a first date. Thinking you won't realize the person on the profile and the one that showed up are totally different. There are lots of cheap men, flakes and dogs on this site too. I moved to the single's dating site and I'm having a much better experience. The men are all young and available and they want to meet ASAP. They don't mind I'm married. There are a lot of young men that just want sex no strings attached, they have their own place, they have more time to see you. They can be more flexible around your time.
I have used AM for many years. It is not a scam. I have yet to come across profiles that weren't real. I have been to scam sites in the past. When a man creates a profile with no information and no pictures and gets dozens of responses within a day, you know it is a scam.
I have met roughly about 6-7 women over a 10 year period on this site.
Well, as usual this site is probably a lot better for women, than it is for men. My wife have had a profile on AM for about 6 months or so and with great success. Shes been on dates with 15-20 different men so far and have not had a bad experience yet. She have also found her now regular steady boyfriend through AM and I know she have recommended the site to some of her friends as well.
A scam. Expensive and the only 'dating' site I know of that charges you ($19) to remove your profile! Seriously. Then, if you tell them that you are going to do a charge back they threaten to expose your profile, photos, and e-mails to your credit card company to "prove account usage". Avoid this place like the plague.
To ADL Media -- Yes, I backcharged you AND I will sue if my information is revealed to anyone or any entity.
Ashley Madison seemed like a great concept however yet again it is another site with a bunch of fake profiles. I would recommend DateorPlay.com they are 100% free and don't bog down your email with a bunch of spam.
Costs $68.00 to join, then they rebiull at $19.00 afterward. What you DON'T learn until you go to delete is that they ALSO charge $19.00 simply to delete your account. Not to mention 95% of the so-called "members" are actually site-owner-controlled shills who send come-on messages to get you to keep renewing your membership.
I am a very attractive woman. I talked to many men on this site and they are all the same. They're all douche bags. Most are not what they describe.
My issue is that I was trying it out and browsing around. I couldn't get on a lot, for obvious reasons. Then I got on one day and had all these messages from men saying, "Nice pics" The site had sent numerous access keys for my private showcase to random men. I had only added two private pics at this point, not sent the first one. It was at least 20 guys who got pics of me that I NEVER intended to send out. Has anyone else experienced this?
The whole site is a scam. Just google Ashley madison scam and you'll find out all about it. And even if it was legit it's totally morally reprehensible anyway.
Ya know, I can deal with the fake profiles and all that. That's a pretty common practice. What I can't deal with is the trickery. These are some of the things they've done to trick me:
1) When I broke down to buy some credits, I clicked on the 100 Credits option. Well, when I checked out, the 500 Credit option is there (yes, I am sure I clicked the 100 credit option). You have to unselect it and rechoose the 100 option.
2) They automatically added a $19 charge for "Mobile Anytime". Whatever the hell that is. Bottom line, something I didn't want. But I caught it before I checked out.
3) After I sent my first email, I looked in sent items and noticed a flag under Priority Mail. I didn't think nothing of it, but come to find out, when you send an email, it automatically checks that Priority Mail, thus charging you double the credits to send the email.
4) Your credit history does not update as you use credits. I'm assuming this is so you don't loose track of how many credits you have.
5) I've heard a rumor that as soon as you're out of credits, it automatically renews on your card. Don't know if that's true, but buyer beware!
It's little double-cross/trickery stuff like this that will make me never visit this ridiculous site again.
I think it has some merit, I've talked to some nice women there. Yes, folks are there to "cheat" if you like that term... I doubt however if many are there because their emotional and/or sexual needs are met.
The software badly needs an upgrade, as it is pretty user un-friendly, very clunky as opposed to some others of the same genre.
Their business model sucks big time IMHO, They very annoyingly ding you for credits all the time... a then you have to buy more instead of just a monthly fee.
They treat us like children so very unimpressive.
Total expensive crap! You'll get a chat request from a hot looking babe that wants you to go to her private room on ym. When you get to her so called private room she accepts all major credit cards for her to put on a show for you. This site is nothing but scam city.
I was registered on ashley madison but it didn't convince me at all! The credit system is bit crazy and it costs a lot. Now I'm subscribed to Casual club from last 6 months and I've to say that it is really worth the effort! Also because it costs less! Hey guys try casual club and you won't be disappointed ;)
I agree with all the reviews below. Ashley Madison has some serious problems. I do not think "online dating" is a good description of the ridiculous things they do.
I was on the site for about 3 years (very careful - I am single and was looking for a single/divorced or divorced FWB situation because I was lonely and had tried the more traditional dating (for LTR) sites (Match, Christian, POF) to find that they are a farce. The Entry cost of Ashley Madison is Excessive considering the support they provide, Assume $100 minimum. To write a person is $5.00 and the system is defaulted to put an priority check mark on the email as priority for an $5.00 ($10 per contact). If a member writes you "collect" and you click on it, it is another $5.00 for them to say, "sorry not interested" because there is no way to communicate it without a charge or blowing the contact off. I found that the vast majority of women who write me were prostitutes, scammers, and "sugar babies". They were quite good at responding to scammers or illegal activities. However, they only returned $5 of the $20 or so it cost me to discover that I was dealing with a Nigerian scammer (most of my membership). It cost me about $300 to meet one nice woman who was married to a husband with borderline personality disorder and needed me more as a friend than as a lover (three hundred dollars to enter the friend zone). I put my same ad on the local craigslist weeded out scam and within a couple of weeks found a woman who met my needs (her husband died in an accident and she needed an adult and a lover in her life as she worked through the issues and I needed someone who understood that I had lost my job and was not financial available (or physically available - I am taking every odd job I can find to eat). It worked much better and we have had considerable respect.
Unless you live in a major urban area, Ashley is likely to be a waste of time and money (at least for men), the real women looking for lovers are quite small so they have the pick of the liter and unless you are exceedingly tall, handsome and pretty much the kind of jerk guy that always gets laid anyway, you are unlikely to meet anyone worth your time.
Lastly most of the women on here are likely to have multiple partners... wear a condom! The women most men are looking for will pick one guy and get off the site quite quickly.
I'm a woman on the site & in a bad place in my marriage so I signed up was curious. I met men on there who wanted porn star looking women when they are hairy, old & fat! I had on my profile I was looking for a long term affair but men of types who wanted one night stands, threesomes, hit & quit would all contact me. Some men would lie about their age, height,& weight. They would even insult you by not responding to them. I met some men in person most were douche bags! I had an affair with someone for about 1 1/2 he was sweet but a cheater like me where could it go really? I don't recommend this site@ all. P. S I don't cheat anymore life is better. I'm no angel but stuff happens sometime :)
A bunch of pieces of $#*!. Don't waste your time and money. Dont even try to call customer service, I think its a pre-requisite to be $#*!ing dumb.
The site seems to have some real women but many are not real. The company uses fake profiles to get guys to use their points. One way you can prove the site is a scam is that as soon as you cancel your subscription you will get one or more messages from girls where before you might not have ever received one that was self initiated by a girl. The only way you can view the message is if you resign up.
Regardless of the cheating issue, I received a lot of notification with about 90% with private photo and I would say about 95% dont reply', and that reply does not cost anything. A very costly site to send email and why would yo ubuy a gift for some one? Did sihn up for much so no real loss, the only corrrespondence was from a reported which went nowhere
Answer: Guys, it should not be so complicated to reach out to a girl for a hook up! You can find thousands of them on https://j4l.com/402007 They will contact you themselves, you don't have to put in any efforts if you want to have some fun time online. Or you just need to travel to them but it will be very rewarding, exciting and, what's essential, safe and SECRET experience!
Answer: Cops won't entrap you on AshleyMadison, they don't care. But you wife probably does. Often, she is worse than cops! Lol It's impossible to stay anonymous on AM - it's a well-known site. If you want to keep your affair secret, look for a safer platform, e.g. http://J4Love.net I had two affairs through their service. It was safe, private, unknown to the world and tremendously hot!
Answer: Kind of expensive because they charge by credits. There are cheaper solutions (vm, saphrina, some aff sites)...
Answer: Well, basically you purchase credits and you spend them every time you message someone...
Answer: This site is free for women, which i believe is a big problem. That is why many "professionals" join and try to make you join other sites, cam sites, etc. On sites like vm, saphrina, etc women usually pay as well which is good for the quality of the female profiles. But i guess if you are a woman you should rather join AM.
Answer: The question shouldn't be is it real, but is it worth it. If even one man/woman managed to have an actual affair through Ashley Madison, you could say that it's real. If for every 1 real affair/hookup there are 100's or 1000's of fake users to slog through all the while you're giving them your hard earned money... does that sound like it's worth it?
Answer: If it walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck what is it? Going to church has gotten people laid more than Ashley Madison.
Answer: Bill, this website is not owned by Ashley Madison. If you need to contact them you can call their toll free number 1-866-742-2218. Good luck!
