The overall reputation of Ashley Madison is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to the prevalence of fake profiles and perceived scams. Many users express frustration over the high costs associated with the platform, which they feel exploit their desire for genuine connections. While some customers report occasional success in meeting partners, the overwhelming sentiment is negative, highlighting concerns about financial exploitation and inadequate customer support. Despite its established brand presence, the company struggles to address these critical issues, leading to a lack of trust and a recommendation to avoid the service.

Complete disappointment/scam... just spent credits for sending messages... this is a one way communication, after somebody winked and you sent lengthy messages to get to know the other person, the only response back is " Hi there"
All women in those pictures are fake... I hope the government do something about this... is a complete scam... Watch out for the $19.00 cancellation fee.
This web site is nothing but pure unadulterated BS. It's a scam and a fraud. The government needs to take these people down and jail. DO NOT EVER SIGN UP. The profiles are mostly fake and you will get no responses.
Horrible scam...$49 for 100 credits. You get bombarded by robot accounts that you have to pay collect to read. Comments from robots direct you to xxx sites or other dating sites. Complained to Cust service... get generic response back as they must send TONS of these responses daily. Oh. And they charge you $19 to delete account also. Run dont walk from this scam
This site is terrible, I would recommend using Hookups.ws
If I had the choice, I would give this site zero stars. I registered and started receiving messages from men thanking me for favoriting them. I never added anybody to my favorites. When I checked the sent box, there were pages of names of men that I supposedly sent messages to. There were either prewritten wink messages or messages saying they were on my favorite list. This site is a big fat SCAM! Men, don't be fooled by these people. They send out fake messages making you think a woman is interested only to get you to respond (and waste your credits so that you can spend more). I received many wink messages and favorites too but I am wondering if it's also part of the scam to get me (women on that site) to write to the men. WHAT A SCAM! Don't waste your time or money with these money hungry people.
The site is only semi-legit. There are a lot of fake profiles and clusters of profiles in certain locations. As described by others, they use a token-based charge model and entice you to spend them quickly and often. Want to contact a person (that may be a fake)? 5 Credits. What to prioritize that message? 5 More credits. Want to do real-time chat? 30 credits. They tell you flat out that your profile will appear on page 90 of the search response unless you pony up another $30 per month. The other kicker is that a credit is not a dollar. A credit is $0.50 (at the introductory rate). Therefore that little get-to-know you message you send is $2.50 (or $5 if you want it sent priority). The women that are real people tend to get overwhelmed by all the horny guys and tend not to respond (positively or negatively). So you spend down your balance and get very little in return. The site is deceptive. I get chat requests the minute I log on from everywhere in the country except where I live. If you accept, there goes $15. I did not sign up to have sex chats with hookers or robots. Can you find someone on this site? I guess. I didn't. From my initial 100 credits I got only one real response and it was a rude negative. At least it was something...
Mainly fake profiles here my peeps. I did meet someone who was nice but the site- unlike others who charge a monthly fee eats up your credits Don't waste your time or money. There are plenty of other sites (including bars) where you are better off. It really is pretty much a sham and scam designed just like a slot, keep putting in your money and you might... just might get a hit.
Never been on a site like this before - I am finding it very satisfying - its free for women to be on the site and if you don't mind being inundated with $#*! shots and requests for your pics its working out well...
It just depends what your expectations are...
I asked Ashley Madison customer support why so many of the women on their site were fake (Same women listed in many zip codes) including the one they use to entice you to join. They explained they are "Angels", "Angels are meant to illustrate what being part of an online community is like" they explain.
As soon as you join, you get a message from an angel you are supposed to think is a real person. You have to buy credits in order to read her (fake) message. Then when you purchase credits you receive a bunch of unsolicited messages from single young ladies from all over the country. These messages deplete your credits in a hurry. You can block these messages, but that blocks messages from everyone. If you buy more credits, you have to pay an additional $19.95 a month to receive any messages.
These folks are very clever.
Hi, without spending a cent, I can see this is a scam.
10 or 12 dollars a month just to be in the top listings,
I guess you would be if you hate your money that much.
Then, to cost you just to contact one of their fake profiles most likely
Posted by the company itself.
If you are willing to pay a little to be on a site, no bull, real people
No added charges, full access to the whole site, then I do have a site for you.
I am in no way affiliated with this site, except I have been a paying customer for probably 7 or 8 yrs.
Approx $159 canadian +tx for a whole yr. Gets you a gold membership, which lets you
View all profiles, send winks or flirts, or better yet unlimited messaging. If you are traveling, you can even look up tons of profiles wherever you're going. The site is full of real profiles, and some fake I'm sure, but I have met singles and couples that I had good experiences with. One thing that I find amazing, is that you have full access to profiles full of full on homemade videos of the members. Some are absolutely steaming hot. Singles, couples, threesomes, gang bangs, transgender and on. I believe I have about 4 or 500 in my favourites list. There are bronze and silver memberships also, but I go for gold.
My membership has expired on my favourite site, and I decided to check to see what else was available. I heard about ashley madison and thought I would check it out.
Without experiencing the site I bet that a lot of members would attest that the block of time or paid messages you have forked out for, get no results, and when your allowable messages are getting down to almost nothing, then, mysteriously you get a bunch of women contacting you. Then, you buy more time so you can contact them back, and then they disappear. Yrs ago I experienced that on those fake phone sites.
You could spend 30 or 50 bucks a day.
As soon as I push submit review, I am going to
adultfriendfinder.com
And gladly forking out the money for another yr.
AM is clearly a huge scam. Many of the profiles are fake, and their purpose is to get you to send messages and use up your credits so you will buy more. My advice, stay away.
It's not a complete scam. I met someone and had a great affair. I am currently on my second try on the site and I'm talking with two different real women (still haven't sealed the deal). That being said, there definitely are a lot of fake female accounts on the site. One problem is that AM has an affiliate program that pays the affiliates for female profiles generated that are active. This encourages the affiliate to create fake female profiles and actively try to suck the tokens from the guys. If you are able to see past that, and have enough money to not miss $50, this site is worth a try.
I personally can attest that this site is nothing but BS, if you want to really hookup then go to XratedSingles.com
Absolute scam - I don't even know if there are any real women there. After 5 days I posted my picture and I am in great shape both from a finance and looks point of view 42 year old male. In my commentary I made it very clear what are the benefits of contacting me. I did it on purpose, as I was curious if anyone at all will respond. Nobody did for a week, except a scammer with a picture from a porn site, where the logo of the site was still at the bottom corner... Foolish me - offloaded 100 usd to buy credits, but serves me right - should look for reviews online next time before I pay!
Watch out for women who are always online and always ready to answer your email but never reply - they are sucking you dry. Amuse_me and Martin_Victoria837 are ones to watch out for.
Mainly fake profiles here guys. I did meet one woman - long distance - who was sweet. We had a few phone conversations and traded friendly texts back and forth for awhile. I was supposed to visit her but had to cancel twice because of work and personal matters. We remain friends. But overall there are a ton of scam postings trying to get you to spend more money. Don't waste your time or money. You are better off doing things the old fashioned way and hit the bars. (Or knock on your neighbor's door when her husband isn't home. Maybe she'll invite you in for "a glass of iced tea" ;)
It really is all spam and maybe even a scam. No one sends a message that isn't a collect message trying to rid you of your credits so that you'll buy more. And when you respond, you are met with dead silence. Minimum credit purchase is $50, so you are deeply out of pocket from day one. Feels a bit like a slot machine, except it never pays out. Stay very far away.
I put up my profile, bought my starter tokens and sent winks, messages and photos. I'm 60 and in great trim shape. I'm educated, traveled, "moneyed" and have lots of interests. I got VERY, VERY few responses. Most responses were canned comments suggesting I send a message (when I already had)! Of course sending messages cost yet more money. I was so frustrated, I created a fake 60 yo female profile, with no pictures, 150 pounds, "undecided" position, and no other specifics. I posted this fake profile. To my surprise, my fake profile git dozens if winks, messages and photos per week. Every time I logged on (in her name) shed gey bombarded with a deluge of winks, messages, photos and nude shots! Thos gives you some idea of the male to female ratio in the Philadelphia region. I'd have to say that based on my (multiple) experiments, the "AshleyMsdison Male/Female ratio is worse than 10:1. He'll, I'd rather spend the money on a very attractive professional escort than waste my time with the AM crap!
Also, one woman who I did actually meet told me that she got do many messages, photos etc, she couldn't go through them all!
AshleyMadison us a rip-off for guys! For women that are "giving it away" on AdhleyMadison, they can afford to be VERY, VERY, BERY selective!
Another comment, so many if the women are so over weight, they make my wife look good!
Don't of it! It's a rip-off!
Don't waste time on this site. All the profiles are fake, I even came across 3 profiles with pictures of the exact same person. They send you messages that you have to use credit to open, only to get some lame question like "r u online" then you respond and never hear from them again, until after your credit runs out then all of a sudden your mailbox is filled to bursting with superhot chicks... but of course you have to pay more money to open their messages. Trust me guys just get a beer and go to a bar or club. Total scam
Ok another waste of time you won't meet anyone on this site and WARNING do not give your credit card details they are thieves.
Answer: Guys, it should not be so complicated to reach out to a girl for a hook up! You can find thousands of them on https://j4l.com/402007 They will contact you themselves, you don't have to put in any efforts if you want to have some fun time online. Or you just need to travel to them but it will be very rewarding, exciting and, what's essential, safe and SECRET experience!
Answer: Cops won't entrap you on AshleyMadison, they don't care. But you wife probably does. Often, she is worse than cops! Lol It's impossible to stay anonymous on AM - it's a well-known site. If you want to keep your affair secret, look for a safer platform, e.g. http://J4Love.net I had two affairs through their service. It was safe, private, unknown to the world and tremendously hot!
Answer: Kind of expensive because they charge by credits. There are cheaper solutions (vm, saphrina, some aff sites)...
Answer: Well, basically you purchase credits and you spend them every time you message someone...
Answer: This site is free for women, which i believe is a big problem. That is why many "professionals" join and try to make you join other sites, cam sites, etc. On sites like vm, saphrina, etc women usually pay as well which is good for the quality of the female profiles. But i guess if you are a woman you should rather join AM.
Answer: The question shouldn't be is it real, but is it worth it. If even one man/woman managed to have an actual affair through Ashley Madison, you could say that it's real. If for every 1 real affair/hookup there are 100's or 1000's of fake users to slog through all the while you're giving them your hard earned money... does that sound like it's worth it?
Answer: If it walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck what is it? Going to church has gotten people laid more than Ashley Madison.
Answer: Bill, this website is not owned by Ashley Madison. If you need to contact them you can call their toll free number 1-866-742-2218. Good luck!
