Despite its notoriety, this site will mostly disappoint those who spend the money to join. Yes, there are a few real women on the site and it's possible to strike up a conversation with a few of them, but overall it's a huge waste of time and, frankly, a scam. You quickly start to see certain patterns in the "matches" that they send you several times per week that clue you in to the fact that the site is flooded with bogus profiles that AshleyMadison generates (the site makes money by charging men to send messages to women, so the more messages they can sucker you into sending, the better for their bottom line). To make matters worse, the site is a sausage fest, so it's difficult to grab the attention of the few real women on the site because they have to wade through scores of crude messages and $#*! pics every day (this tidbit comes courtesy of the couple of actual women I met on the site). Because the customers are all married guys trying to have an affair we keep our mouths shut, but really some AG should be prosecuting AshleyMadison for fraud or some lawyer should be pushing through an easy class action lawsuit.

Look at the reviews you see here. Any statistician will tell you they demonstrate two means. Those being = 1) employees of Ashley Madison posing as reviewers and 2) actual reviewers who are users of the site. As a member of the latter, I am here to tell you AM is a scam, and you can disregard any review over 2 stars. AM hires people (mostly men) to pose as women, post pics, flirt and chat until you buy credits. Then, mission accomplished, all communication ceases. Before you pay, do yourself a favor and post a fake profile of a 75 yr man overweight with an occasional uncontrolled herpes outbreak, and surprise of surprises, you will get "women" beating down your door until you enter your CC.

I can only suggest to any man... find another site... ANY other site. I never recieved any legit communications, even after a month trying and a passle of dough blown.
EVERYTHING cost money, (credits) and the site does nothing to protect the guys that actually fund this joke from the posers that burn up your time and money.
I must say that it was a horrid mistake and I truly hope you don't make it. Please. Find any other site, these guys will fleece you and call it right...

Here is my overall opinion from 2+ off an on years on this site. Although I should note that I was off it for over a year when I met someone I like. Bottom line-- It does have legit women. But its a very small fraction compared to the number of men. If you put in enough effort, or get extremely lucky, you will probably find someone on here. But you will have to deal through lots of blow off messages, weirdo chicks/guys, porn stars, and flakes. To sum up my success. I would say I have probably sent around 100 messages out while on this site. Of those 100, I probably got some for of response on about 20. So that's about 1 in 5 messages where I get response. Of those 20, probably 5 were people who were call girls or porn stars directing me to their site. Of the remaining 15, probably 5 were girls who sent 1 or 2 emails/messages then vanished. Of the remaning 10, roughly 5 of them I spent sometime talking to on my own email/messenger but they even disappeared after a little while, or they were not my type. So of the remaming 5 I got to know 3 of them well, online with a lot of sexy talk-- but we never met for one reason or another. One of the other 2 I met in person, hooked up, but that was it. The other one I met and we fell and love and were together for a year until it had to end. So does the site work, sure maybe it does. But be prepared for a lot of work unless you get lucky. And for the record, I am only 35, I am good looking and in good shape. Not some old unattractive man. Just my two cents.

Years ago I was on AM and was able to meet probably a half-dozen women in person and slept with 3 of them. It took a few months, but I thought that was pretty good. There are probably fake pics and profiles, but those are easy to figure out after a while.

I think your profile needs to be unique and not so much about the size of your penis, but rather what you're really looking for in an affair.

I'm pretty fit, 5'10", can weave a good line or two and I'm sure that helped. I remember chatting with many women (some I never met in person) who were always amazed how crass men where on the site.

So, be cool, don't press and you may find yourself in bed with a married woman whose sex drive is relentless.

Read the reviews that have given this site 3+ stars. I've used this site for 5-6 years, have met over 40 girls in that period, and have had a few long term affairs. My experience is that all of the profiles are real, but not everyone wants to to talk to you. The ratio is probably 10+ girls to every guy, so you will need to understand that your first e mail will need to make an impression, and you really only have one chance once someone decides to communicate with you. My guess is that most guys start out with a wink, or a lame line like "hit me back if u want to hook up", which will not separate you from the masses. Like a previous reviewer said, bring your A game.

Generally, and not that everyone is the same, but girls cheat for romance and affection, and guys cheat for sex. If you're a guy, you need to genuinely care for the people you are meeting, and treat them well.

The cost may be a little high, at $2 per initial contact, but that's just the price of admission, and it's really the best way to meet like minded married people. It's pretty well laid out, and user friendly, once you explore it a bit.

Here's the truth about AM, you can meet and hook up with attractive, married women. BUT (and this is key) you better:
A) be an attractive guy
B) be at least 5'10
C) be intelligent and able to come up with a creative and appealing profile
D) live in a fairly large metro area

If you meet those criteria, you can definitely have success on AM. I've lived in one of the largest metro areas in US and have only been a member for about 4 months. I've met about 8-10 women and slept with about half of them. And they were all quite attractive, a few them extremely attractive. You can do it, but as I said, if you don't meet most or all of the criteria I mentioned above, you'll have a very hard time.

Next, yes, there are tons of fake profiles on the site. However, it's not as bad as other sites I've tried, and unlike other sites, there are a lot of real women on there. AM is free for women to join, which I actually think is a pretty good idea because these sights need to attract women. Anyway, I'm pretty sure AM has paid employees that pose as women and set up fake profiles. They will contact you with very generic messages (like: "hey, wanna chat?" or "are you online?") when you first sign up. They're just trying to get you to buy the credits (and then use them). After a couple of months, I've learned how to spot them and not waste any credits on them (there are about 60-70 profiles in my area that are literally always logged in, 24/7 - dead giveaway).

On more thing you need to know about AM: The ratio of men to women is probably at least 15:1 in most areas. I don't care what other reviews say or what AM claims. This is just a reality, and it means the competition is fierce and you better bring your A-game. You'll get turned down by a lot of women that probably aren't as attractive as you are and some of them are rude. It's just the nature of the game. Tons of women's profiles are simply a list of demands or criteria that you better meet. You on the other hand, as a guy, better come up with a charming and creative profile if you want to get any action at all. When a half way decent looking (or just sounding, bc many don't add public pictures) woman joins AM, they are literally flooded with hundreds of emails. So like I said, you better figure out a way to stand out in a huge crowd.

I had tried this site once before and decided to give it another try, no good, there are very limited local members who's only interest appers to be to chat. The way this site works, you get 100 credits for the initial purhase, which is expensive. Then you get collect e-mails asking you to chat. Each time you open an e-mail it costs you 5 credits. You go through the credits very quickly without ever being in contact with anybody, then you are prompted to buy more credits. I will never use this site again, it's a ripoff.

Have been using this site for 3 years. I have two account on this site, and the profiles are not completely accurate, but I always give whoever I talk long enough with accurate information about me.

I have had a chat with hundreds of guys, with most of them, just once or twice, with many, more than few times, and I have met about 15 guys. I have had sex with 4, but it has lasted very long time (more than 2 years) only with one of them. We lasted long because I was so extremely attracted to the hansome gentleman who accepted who I was and also always consistent with no clinginess or desperation.

Guys stay to the old school of meeting girls... face to face. I tried this site and its takes your money. Women don't pay for anything. Guys have to buy credits, they charge the men 5 credits for initial contacts, 5 credits to show your pictures, and be careful when you write back to a contact because there is a priority check that is automatic and you are charged 5 credits for that.

When your credits are done, and you wanted to contact a person you already paid for, you can't, you have to buy more credits.

I kept sending out messages and only got two replys and the people I met, I would NEVER EVER meet or have a second glance at. This site plays with your fantasy hopes, but crushes your dreams. Its as they say, "buyer beware."

There are a lot of phony profiles, you will receive emails from women that when you respond, it costs you credits and you never even get an acknowledgement that your email was received, everything you do costs more money, the technical issues are frequent while the technical support is non-existent, and overall, the worst site I have ever been on- I met a couple of women, so I know there are good women on the site, but the site itself and the people who run it are scum
