I work on a daily basis with many of the APFM Advisors. They are wonderful to work with and always have the best interest of their families in mind. They are quick to respond and stay in touch with me to see if they need to reach out. Dorothy Walsh is a very collaborative and on a monthly basis, we discuss how to help our families...
Our contact was Missy. I am my mom's only remaining relative. She has dementia, and has fought leaving her home for too long. Missy helped me through this difficult decision from the very first decision, throughout the ups and downs, and stayed with me to the end. I could not have gotten through this extremely stressful situation without her help. Thank you, Missy, and thank you for A Place for Mom. This program is invaluable.
I guess they need to follow the telephone consumer protection Act. I got calls starting at 6 AM, against the law. So annoying! I was sound asleep. Wish I hadn't given them my phone number.
I called to see about finding a place for my mom. The man I spoke with gave me the name of one Assisted Living place and said he would email me with more information and his contact. I never heard from him. I called and asked if he was available, and the person I spoke with said that my case had been closed, that he couldn't help me. He never told me that though.
We had used Care Patrol and had a good experience getting my in-laws into an assisted living with a memory care in Ohio. When circumstances changed I contacted both Care Patrol and A Place for Mom. WOW, what a different experience. The advisor was happy to talk to us and set up appointments, but when we asked about other facilities - silence. Would not answer emails. It also made some somewhat leery that she was in NY and we live outside Washington, DC. When we made the first contact I explained my father-in-law was in the hospital and we might have to cancel to travel when they returned him back to the assisted living facility as hospitals in OH did not allow visitors. Unfortunately that is what happened and I emailed her and she never responded nor did she contact the assisted living facilities she had booked a virtual tour for me (5 of them). I called their 800 number to request to be removed from any further communication and the young lady who answered the phone was very nice and processed my request.
Care Patrol was a much better experience for us. We will go back to them.
This is not a helpful service. Just want to make a commission! You will get a better deal if you contact a home personally.
A 60 year old woman I know called to inquire about "a place for her!" The young man who answered her call asked her for the amount she had to spend for housing each month. When she told him $1200, he said, "Is there someone else who can help?" She said, "Help with what?" He responded "with raising the amount she could spend for her monthly housing." She told him that she didn't, and asked about how much she needed each month to qualify for APFM's help and he told her about $3,000. WOW! It appears that APFM caters to rich mothers only and does nothing for mother's who live on limited incomes. They should add to their commercials that they only assist well-off mothers with $3k or more per month to spend on their housing, so they can avoid getting the hopes up of all mothers with housing needs.
Let me start with they will get right to you. Our adviser Jennifer S. Has been outstanding. Being there for me with my mother. And has continued to give support even after I placed my mother. I give her more than 5 stars. It really does matter that you work with someone that truly understands and cares. Thanks for the good work J. S.
Claudia was wonderful. What a great resource for my husband & I. She was not only informative but empathetic as well. We have forwarded her contact information to others in need as well.
Landings of Huber Heights is a great community for assisted living. My mother has been living there for about 7 months now. She has made many improvements thanks to the wonderful and caring staff! They have many activities and a nice dining room with great food cooked to order. The price is very affordable compared to other facilities. They have also been very diligent and took every precaution to keep our loved ones safe during COVID-19 which is very much appreciated.
I would like to thank the helpful people with "A Place for Mom". They helped us to find a great assisted living situation for our Dad. He is very happy. Thank you again for your hard work and patience with us during the process.
We moved mom into an assisted living home in May. As in person visits were not allowed due to COVID 19, I did a window visit and saw things that were disturbing. I went on line when I got home, filled out a questionnaire about mom and within 2 minutes of hitting the submit button I got a phone call. The people that I talked with were wonderful, set up a phone interview for the next day and we were able to move mom the next week. She is very happy in her new digs, likes the food and being busy. What a relief!
I appreciate the help I received when things seemed so impossible. Dion was very resourceful and accommodating. I consider your organization the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Thank You

It was as if I had a warm hand holding mine for the whole 6 months I was searching to get my older brother into his own independent retirement apartment. Jeannette Williams was that warm, helping hand. She recommended several places and called them. My brother is so very happy with his new home. I'm so grateful to God for her.
When no one was accepting new patients, a place for mom was able to get my father placed for his advanced dementia. They found a place that tested and allowed him semi quarantined, but still getting contact needed. Thank you
I contacted A Place for Mom for assistance and direction in finding a new home for my mother. Stacy really listened to our needs, concerns and budget. We settled on a place she had recommended. I am very happy with the results. It was especially challenging to find an assisted living facility during COVID.
No amount of pleading will get this place to stop calling once they have your number. My grandmother has passed 2 years now, yet this place is adamant they're going to find her a place.
They were no help! And now almost 3 years later I can't get them to stop calling! I have asked to be placed on the do not call list but apparently they don't have such a list.
Avoid these unhelpful people. They only find you places that pay them commissions. Those places May be the worst possible places for your mom. Do your own research. When they call you and you inform them that you placed mom elsewhere, they start telling you how bad the place is and what bad care mom will get there. Sore losers! Unprofessional and unethical. Obviously democrats.
There is a Nationwide Class Action Suit against Brookdale Senior Living. APFM should be included in this law suit!
APFM does not inspect or research these places. They recommend only ALF's that pay them a finders fee.
They are not concerned about your Mom, that TV spokesperson is paid to make you believe they really care.
I paid a $1800. 00 Community fee which I am sure was the finders fee Brookdale paid to APFM. I wasn't told about that fee until the day before my Mom was released from the SNF she was at after a fall sent her to the hospital and she needed to be placed in an ALF.
APFM owes me $1800. 00 for placing my Mom in that horrible facility.

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
