Do not contact these people unless you want to be called 7 times a week. AFTER YOUR PARENT DIES.! I HAVE COMPLAINED 4 TIMES. TO NO AVAIL.
Just a money mill. Stay away
Good business practices. They follow up to check for progress if they haven't heard from you. My Mom is very happy with her new home!
NOT AS ADVERTISED! THEY CAPITALIZE ON THE DEMISE OF SENIOR CITIZENS! THIS SITE IS NOT FREE TO USE! Use your common sense and review the facilities in person. Do not schedule a tour just show up and go to the various buildings in the complex. Pay special attention to drug passes and talk to random staff members and residents. Everything is negotiable! Verify staff drug usage and check if their are any convicted fellow on staff or residing in the facility. Make sure they have plans for emergencies and hard-wired phone lines. Try a meal or two and make sure you have access to a nurse 24/7. I would record all conversations during their sales process and READ THE CARE CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT. Add all your needs to the CARE AGREEMENT and make sure they are in compliance with the state and federal laws! Make sure you check on your loved ones often. Questions, contact me, please. Thx
I started the process of looking for a place for my wife. She has early onset dementia. I filled out the questionnaire and did receive a phone call from initial screener. Call was pleasant enough. She understood what I wanted and how I was going to pay for her care. She assigned me a "case worker" (don't remember exact term used) by name and said I should expect a call within 24 hours. Well, seven months later I am still waiting.
Being a caregiver is stressful enough without the incompetence of other services.
I have placed my wife in a super facility where she is quite happy, the food is incredible and the staff is unbelievable.
My aunt has dementia and had lived with us for 6 yrs. I realized that her behaviors were negatively impacting our young child. She has limited resources and I was having a hard time finding a safe situation for her. A Place For Mom really came through with options I didn't know existed and then contacted us several times to be sure her needs were met! This is a great service and helped my family beyond my hopes!
A family member told me about A Place For Mom, and I contacted them and heard back immediately. After chatting about our finances and location, the advisor recommended some places and after a little back and forth and another round of nursing home options, we found one within our budget and proximity - it was one of their very first recommendations. APFM was seriously invaluable in reducing our stress and making it easy at this difficult time.
They were wonderful. I needed help finding a place for my Step Dad, because he has dementia. It is very bad. I didn't want a big place, I wanted a smaller facility where he would get more individual time with the staff. A place for mom helped me find it. I want to thank them very much for the help, without it I would have been lost.
With the help of A place for Mom we found Red Cedar Glen. My mom loves it here. She is more relaxed more outgoing. Enjoys being around people her own age but if she wants to be alone she can be in her own place.
Thank you for everything.
When my mother needed to go into an assisted living facility, I began searching for information from multiple sources. A Place for Mom showed up in my research. The consultant PUSHED me into appointments with several facilities, including those that were outside the area where my mother wanted to live. I cancelled many of them so as to not waste their time. She called so many times that I stopped answering the phone. We decided on a facility that I visited BEFORE contact with A Place for Mom. A Place for Mom harassed the facility for its finders fee, and when I wrote to the consultant about the situation, she did not have the courtesy to answer my message. She was rude on so many levels.
The search to find a place for my mom was very stressful. I had a small timeframe to find a place with a limited budget. Adam was awesome he listened to what I was trying to do and set up appointments based on my criteria. He made the process less stressful. Thank Adam for an awesome job!
Words cannot do justice to the help and comfort A Place for Mom gave me and my family during a stressful time. I have spent the last month searching for the right' place for my Uncle. He is diabetic primarily but his health conditions have fluctuated so much over the last month that his care needs kept shifting. My Care Advisor, Layton Gaskins, was with me every step of the way guiding me with questions to ask when visiting felicities, checking in on my Uncle's status, adjusting his care needs with potential matching facilities. Layton was a calmness in a turbulent storm. I cannot image going thru this alone and thankfully with Layton, I was not! I highly recommend this service, take the helping hand and find the right' place for your loved one.
We were blessed. Susie provided us with real valuable information for what was available in our area. It was not a hard sell nor did we feel like we're under pressure. All of the ancillary information we got other than care facilities was reasonable, very helpful and timely.
If I had another mom, I wouldn't hesitate to work with these folks.
I have been very pleased with my Senior Advisor, Lisa. She has been there all the way with my first use of APFM and now is assisting me with my next move out of state. The questions to ask and things to look for are very helpful as well as the note sheet. Thanks again APFM and Lisa. Sorry but I do not have a picture right now.
Thank you, Grace! We are so happy to hear Lisa was able to help you out.
They helped me find the right place for my mother, but it took some time, they do not always start with the best cost effective places, but will help hunt it down. Very helpful and easy way to find the right place.
Great to hear!
We were looking for an assisted living facility for my mom who lives in a different state, A Place for Mom was extremely helpful in helping us to schedule many visits in a short amount of time. I would highly recommend them.
In addition, we received an extra $1,000 off as a one-time promotion.
Thank you for the recommendation!
I really want to thank you for all the information, advice and guidance. It was extremely helpful at a time our heads were spinning and getting ready to explode. Dealing with a elderly parent is bad enough but one that has dementia makes it 10X harder. We love our Dad but could not continue to provide the care he needed. Your expertise was perfect timing. You guided us through the entire experience not only with step by step instructions for immediate placement but with advice on financial assistance that is available out there for him. I cannot thank you enough Sheyna!
We are so happy to hear this and we love the photo! Thanks for sharing.
I had been looking for a place for mom for over a year. Was doing it on my own. Mom ended up in the hospital with an infectIon and the social worker at the hospital asked if I was looking for a place for my mom... well. One thing led to another and they set me up with a place for mom! They were so helpful! They found a couple of places with my parameters to go visit and we found the perfect place! Thanks!
We are so happy to hear you found the perfect place!
These very kind people helped me find a palace for my Mom who has dementia and Alzheimer's. She had been living in a very expensive unit in Hermosa beach at 12,000 a month. She always smelled like pee in the other place. It took one week to find the kindest place with the most wonderful caretakers (Agnes & Ron) my mom ran out of money which means I have to work extra to pay for her expenses. At 3300 a month she is getting better care. Doesn't smell and is gaining weight on her frail frame. If I had done this 9 years ago, all that money could still be available to her and eventually to me. Instead I'm using my retirement money to pay for her. I wish I had listened to those commercials a long time ago. Debra
We are happy to hear we could help you out!
Mary contacted me when I first began looking for an independent retirement community here in Bryan. She set up several appointments with the options available here and kept in weekly contact throughout the process. We found a place that my mother and I both liked and got her moved in. Mother has fought the idea of moving for several years but now is so happy she finally made the move. She now says she should have done this years ago. Thanks again for all your help Mary.
This is so great to hear! We will pass along your note to Mary!

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
