Heather held my hand throughout the process, making everything easier. She came up with great options and checked in at my pace — supporting me without overwhelming me. What a wonderful experience.

My younger brother, who is 60 years old with some physical and medical issues since birth, fell very ill with COVID recently. He quickly deteriorated and developed pneumonia. The only sibling who lives nearby got him admitted to the hospital. But this sibling works full-time and has their own family to take care of. He could not be his brother's 24/7 caregiver after he came home from the hospital.
I live more than 2000 miles away...how can I provide help to my ill brother, now soon to be discharged from the hospital but unable to care for himself yet?
I found A Place for Mom online, called the number, and that same day was connected with an adviser. Within 24 hours the adviser had emailed me with the name of 4 retirement facilities in my brother's city that would accept respite care for a limited time. One of the facilities reached out to me that day with a huge amount of information about their facility, including pricing. We scheduled a tour for my ill brother and several days later upon discharge he entered The Redwoods for 2 weeks of respite care. My brother is steadily recovering but has now decided to retire early. And, he is seriously considering returning to this facility as an independent care resident when he retires!
Turning to A Place for Mom during this family crisis was the best thing we could have done! From more than 2000 miles away I was able to quickly find a wonderful facility for my brother where he could safely recover from serious illness.
My advisor has been very responsive, checking in by phone and email as our family navigates this crisis. I can say the same thing about the retirement facility. It has been such a blessing to have caring, knowledgeable people helping us during this difficult time. This helped to significantly reduce the stress our family has been going through. I would highly recommend A Place for Mom for anyone needing help in handling a loved ones' illness or pending retirement.

Very helpful in getting someone quickly to sit with my Brother

A Place for Mom provided lots of support and lots of options when deciding to place my parents in assisted living. Vanessa was very attentive to make sure I had answers to all of my questions and what to do next at each step.

That made a process that can seem overwhelming much easier.

This company was efficient, professional and caring in helping me find a memory care facility for my husband. I will recommend them to anyone looking for assisted living or memory care. They know the right place for the loved one.

My personal advisor was absolutely fantastic! From fine tuning the list of places that fit my parents criteria to following up constantly, she was a lifesaver! The "MySearch" tool is wonderful, allows you to drill down into the places that are on your list, view their websites and then schedule tours. Each step of this process was so easy. Even when I had to cancel or change dates, my personal advisor was always there to assist! I can't recommend them enough to help you through a difficult process.

This is my second time using this service...first time for my step-father who was diagnosed with dementia and now for my mother who I want to have a more active life going into her 90's. Carly was kind, helpful and listened to my needs.

That led me to Justin T., my kind-hearted adviser who went straight to work to help my dad. He was genuinely warm and efficient. The first recommendation was a perfect fit and I was grateful my father was in good hands when he passed.

They have been so helpful in my search for living accommodations for my father! And there was no cost to me! They send numerous texts with helpful information.

She followed up after my meetings to see how they went and if I needed her to find other places. Informative emails are sent with articles pertaining to senior care and what to look for when choosing a community for your parent. It really made the whole experience not so overwhelming!
