Gayla Dailey has helped find my mom an independent living place, then assisted living, and now memory care! She has guided me through this with many phone calls and arranged visits with the top facilities in Austin. I couldn't have done it without her. Many tears were shed as I had to move mom as her dementia progressed. She truly loves her job and has so much compassion! Gayla Dailey, thank you!
They answered all of my questions and literally took the lead with finding a place that would fit all of my mom's needs. There's no way we could have done this alone.
We were so happy to help you out!
I was at the end of my rope. The hospital would no longer keep my husband and the only places I could find were so horrible I wouldn't put a mangy dog in one. A nurse at one of the hospitals had given me a phone number and I had put it in my purse and forgotten it. My husband's doctor recommended A Place For Mom and called them for me.
By this time, I had only a little more than a week to fine something; and Heather called several places. I made appointments, but none of them were set up for a patient with my husband's problems. Now I was down to three days and Heatherfounde Storey Oaks for me. The manager at Storey Oaks (also named Heather) put everything and everyone in super-sonic speed to approve a place for my husband.
If it hadn't been for both Heathers, I truly don't know what I would have done. I couldn't bring him home because of the amount of care he needed. I just know that God will bless them for what they did for us.
We are so glad the Heather's were able to help you and your family out and that your husband has found a place!
Since moving my wife into Atria Bonita she has continued to blossom in her interactions with her fellow residents. At a previous facility she was not happy and did not interact much with fellow residents and staff.
Thank you for sharing and we are so happy to hear your wife is blossoming at Atria Bonita!
When your looking for a little help it is nice to find somebody that has some of the information that can maybe help you, everybody needs help. Alice the lady that helped me went out of her way to personally contact some of the providers because of fiance problems I had and was able to find me a provider that would work with me and for that I thank her, and i'm sure she is not the only one that works there that would do that.
Thank you for sharing and we will be sure to pass along your note to Alice!
Caring and knowledgeable advisors. The way should be. Best organization around to help with Senior Placement. Thanks again
Thank you!
Melissa was very helpful and provided a large selection of referrals. She was friendly and responded quickly to requests or concerns. We are very happy with Normandy Park Senior Living. It is a wonderful place for our mom. She has adapted and is very happy with her room and facility. Thank you so much!
We are so happy to hear this!
I wish this could be a non profit organization. In future will be unrealistic to dream about a peaceful retirement. Mother's deserve to be placed on a affordable, caring environment.
Staff was very organized, informative and professional. I appreciated their time, experience, encouragement and assistance.
After my mom fell and the dreaded news that she couldn't go back home was received I felt helpless. I knew absolutely nothing about what to do next. Fortunately I remembered "A Place For Mom" commercials and decided to give them a call. I was immediately reassured by Lori that we would be fine and she explained step by step the process I would be going through. Within an hour she had 3 solid communities all about half hour from me. She set up appointments with the sales people and sent me an itinerary. Within 3 days we had a beautiful apartment complete with meals, housekeeping, salon, and all sorts of classes and activities and best of all, loaded with safety features in case of falls or injuries.
Thank you so much for sharing! We are so happy to hear this and to know your mom is settled in her new home and safe!
We had been taking care of my mother at home for several years. We realized that as mere mortals we were no longer up to the task. So I began looking at having someone come into the home several days a week. That was impossible. Suddenly, my mother needed more help than even someone coming into the home could give. I had to find her a placement. I called A Place For Mom, I spoke with Grace. Her name was so appropriate. She was a wash of soothing calm in my chaos-filled life. She helped find the most amazing place for my mother. She is now there and fitting in wonderfully. She is not happy about having to leave her home, but she understands. My mom hasn't fallen, she hasn't been getting up in the middle of the night having delusions, or eating too much or too little. I think this is all due to the calm and serene atmosphere of the home that Grace found for her. I know this is all for the best. Thank you A Place For Mom and especially Grace.
Thank you for sharing this with us. We are so happy that Grace could help you and your family out and that she is in a safe place!

A Place for Mom allowed me and my husband to find a nice and affordable place to live independently but closer to our children
Thank you!
We are so grateful for the help which Jessica Sherman at A Place for Mom gave us when we needed help. We had been in contact for about two years, and Jessica would call every few months to see how my mother was doing. We had decided on at home care for as long as possible.
When Mom broke her hip last April and Jessica happened to call, the timing was perfect. She helped us find several places to interview and choose from. Her gentle and professional guidance was outstanding and she knew which places would be a good fit for my mother.
I recommend that anyone who may need help in finding a memory care unit to call and talk with Jessica just to narrow down the options and give yourself time to do the visits and ask questions. We are very happy with Mom's care at Brookdale in Pittsford.
Thank you so much for sharing this! We will pass along your kind note to Jessica.
For starters, I never contacted A Place for Mom. When I went to a particular Independent Living site, I was redirected to A Place for Mom. The lady I talked to gave me 5 Independent Living places to consider. That was helpful. She also gave me price ranges for the places, which turned out to be very wrong, much too low. I contacted all the places on my own and got the real financials.
She would contact me occasionally to offer help. The last time she contacted me and offering to help, I asked for some references for a particular Independent Living place. She said she would pursue that and get back to me within a week. That was about 4 months ago and I still haven't heard from her.
Meanwhile we have selected and signed up for an Independent Living place.

Trying to find the right senior living facility is overwhelming. Here in Florida there are literally hundreds within a half hour radius. Where do you start? I had very specific guidelines of what I needed for my Mom. Michelle went out of her way to find several dozen places that would fit the bill, then we went over them on the phone and I narrowed it down to a half dozen to go see.
All the places she steered me to were great, and we now have my Mom happily settled only 20 minutes from me, with her cat, in her own apartment.
This warms our heart! We are so happy that your mom and her cat are happily settled!
I want to thank everyone that helped me find a personal care home that was close to me for my mom. When I toured it it was clean and the people seem to be happy there. It is reasonably priced every one was nice to me and I want to thank Natalie for helping me out and keeping in touch with me through the whole process as she knew I was dealing with alot of other things when I had to find a place for my mom to go to. Everyone I talked to was very nice to me and very helpful and want to thank them all for all of their help.

Top notch! Was easy to contact walked me through whole process. Very nice and compassionate. Very knowledgeable about what was available and aware of our budget.
We are so happy to hear this and appreciate you sharing this with us!
Kali was very helpful and professional in her communication. I was able to review many facilities and was able to find the right fit for us.
Thank you for sharing! We will pass this along to Kali!
The service is free, sure but representatives are EXTREMELY PUSHY worse than a car salesmen. They do not have all the information you need to make the right decision. I used them and may I say what a mistake. They are paid by the Senior facilities and I am sure they recommend the one who is giving them the most compensation. Do it yourself!
Beware when you visit these facilities because they are on their best behavior. The Memory Care at Somerby is AWFUL all seemed great and truly it is not. Now to make a move is not so easy as they really should not be moved around.
DO IT YOURSELF!

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
