As a provider, we have used A Place for Mom in the past. Never again though! We had a client who's POA called to double check what was available in our area. The APFM rep gave her our name, then was immediately told by the POA she was very familar with us. She had actually been in our facility before and we knew her. APFM treated that as a new referral and is still hounding us for $3000 plus finance charges! They know what we state to be true, but have been flooding us with invoices, emails and calls. We have been very polite and responsive, but to no avail. Providers beware!

This company words things in ways to screw everyone over but them selves. They will harrass you, sale your phone number to all the assisted livings within the area. You will be called and hounded for months. In the beginning they will even call you up to 14 times in one day. They will use intimidation factors to pressure you into making a decision that will line their pockets with money... NOT to mention... they don't care about the elderly. Once they get your information they move onto the next suckers who they can scam. They also only work with the most expense Assisted Livings in the area, they state that they pull information on each community such as Public Records and Survey Results, however when survey results come out, they rarely act on any of the issues. Your Personal Health Information is shared with numerous people a s well. Save yourself the stress and stay away from this company! I hope to see this company fall on their face!

All they do is selling your contact information to dozens if not hundreds of facilities. You will be bombarded with phone calls. Then they just sit back and collect referral fee when you decide to go with any of the facilities, even if you made your decision based on other sources of information, or years later.
No service of any value is provided. All the facility information can be found online for free.
Actually better information exists on your state agency website or ombudsman website.
It's like you sign up a real estate agent, he just give your phone number to all the sellers on the market to call you. Then you recieves hundreds of calls and handle all the transaction process. He just sit back and collects his commission.

I called & spoke to Claudia Keckler, a Senior Living Advisor. She was so helpful. She took down all the important information & within minutes I was getting the answers I was seeking. Their service is so helpful & within a very short time I was being contacted by a number of prominent and highly reviewed facilities that best suited our criteria. It was so nice for them to contact us because we had already been mind boggled by so many computer searches. How nice it was to have facilities already weeded out & be given a short list of quality places in the part of town we requested. Thank you for helping us quickly and caring enough to follow through to make sure we landed in a place that we were happy with. A++ Service & Satisfaction

I made an initial inquiry knowing we were going to have to get conservatorship and place my mom. At the time I had no idea what her assets were. Later, when we had funds I called back. My name was in a database apparently and because there was indication that we had no money to pay a provider, I couldn't get repeated calls returned. Finally in desperation, I called back, gave a fake name, and indicated there was plenty of cash to pay for care and my call was returned within minutes. When a provider got the referral and called me, I explained the situation & gave my real name & was immediately told that the non-refundable up front fee all memory care providers charge would be reduced by $500 as they wouldn't have to pay a referral to A Place for Mom. Don't be fooled-this is not a charity, it's a for-profit business and they will only help if they will ultimately get paid for their time. If you can find your own provider (and they are honest) you will save money by not having to cover the referral fee to A Place for Mom in the upfront costs.

From my first phone call through to my mother's placement in an assisted living facility near me, Donna Talerico was extraordinarily helpful: quick in picking up on my mother's particular needs and concerns (both medical and social), and deeply knowledgeable about all local options. The best possible placement turned out to be one of the first few she suggested. Furthermore, Donna's concern -- for both my mother an me -- was clearly genuine. I'm most grateful to her!

I greatly appreciate the help we received from A Place for Mom. I google searched several places on my own, then contacted A Place for Mom to see what else may be available. My mother ended up selecting one of the choices that A Place for Mom found for us and we are SO happy with the result. I also appreciated that we didn't get bombarded with calls from multiple senior facilities, just received a few calls from the facilities on the short list provided by them.

When I typed in the website for the first time, in the evening, I got a personal phone call in less than 15 minutes. Within another few minutes I had suggestions for places to tour, and after I made some selections, the tours were set up for me, for when I wanted to go. One of the places was 30 minutes away and I would never have selected it on my own, but it turned out to be PERFECT for my mother. Every time I talk to her she tells me how happy she is, and about her new friends, the good food and the services. She is at Crescent Place Assisted Living in Shelbyville, Kentucky. My family recently relocated to Las Vegas, seven months prior to the move I contacted A Place for Mom to help me find a senior community. The service specialist gave me 5 referrals and most importantly a guide to evaluate the communities. As a result I was able to pick the perfect place. I can't express my thanks enough for the incredible support and assistance I received from Natalie. I have been working on and off with her for over two years. Every so often, Natalie would check back in to see if she could offer assistance, but I never found her pushy. The road to find a good place for my mother has been windy and rocky. At each point she provided a listening ear and advice that was spot on. We had a "false start" with two different placement situations, and thankfully feel that we have found the right solution for mom right now. I consider natalie an invaluable resource and would never have found this memory care facility if it hadn't been for her. So grateful!
