I bought expensive triple cell insulated blinds with a white header. In less than a year I have had to replace all four of them and a double blind for the sliding glass door. They replaced the four blinds (sunroom) with single cell blinds, without the insulation and a very thin light weight blind. The real kicker is they don't care and will do nothing about it. I bought the triple cell blinds because of the sun and for winter months. Very disappointed in this company. I have bought blinds from them for the last 20 years, they have reduced the quality of their blinds, the warranty, customer service. I no longer will recommend them to clients.
Ordered these blinds and the estimated ship date 12 days after my purchase date. Ok--Understandable--I still had time to arrange for installation at my new home prior to moving in. The ship date came and went, and I contacted them as I hadn't received any tracking information from them. I got in touch with them and they said it was going to be 1 week after the estimated ship date before it was sent out. Needless to say, they will not be here in time for installation. You would have thought 3 weeks would have been long enough. There is no telling that what they will send is accurate after reading the other reviews...
I purchased custom sheer blinds that do not work. Prior to placing the order, I was very specific when questioning the sale representative Chris who assured me the blinds functioned the same as venetian blinds do. WRONG! Had to fight the company through my credit card. American blinds record their calls and miraculously, they cant find any of my five calls to them. Don use them if you expect a full refund without a fight. No satisfaction guarantee!
The blinds we received were cut an inch short. When we called, they refused to send new blinds and just stated that we should have read their measuring instructions online before ordering. There is nothing written online stating that you should deduct this amount when measuring for the blinds. They did however, offer to place another order and give us 20% off that order. We should not have to waste more money and take a chance of them being cut wrong again, with no guarantee of fitting, on top of the $250+ we already paid. Now we have room darkening blinds that are too short and there is more light filtering in than we had with our old blinds. Do not buy from this company. Many other better options out there.
This is by far the sorriest excuse for customer service that I've ever seen! I've been jerked around and lied to for 3+ weeks and customer service simply passes the buck. No one wants to help address the problem and now they've stopped responding to me at all. There are plenty of reputable blind companies out there, but American Blinds IS NOT one of them. Don't waste your money with them - it will cost you $$$s and all you'll get is frustration! I would not recommend this company to anyone.
The blinds are great but they do not honor the Love It for Less Guarantee. I placed an order and found it for less before my purchase was completed (item not even shipped to me at that point) and they would not honor their policy. Additionally the satisfaction guarantee and policy related to measurement is far less customer friendly than their competition. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I will be replacing blinds for other windows in my house in the near future and will avoid this company for their weak customer service policies and lack of follow-through on the existing policies.
I've ordered from American Blinds several times for my own home and also a rental unit. I've never had any problems. Their site is easy to use and the blinds always come as expected. SO much easier and cheaper than dealing with someone at a retail store!
We ordered multiple blinds from here and where planning on buying several more until from this site until now. One out of the multiple blinds we ordered came too short and they refused to replace the blind after contacting multiple times explaining the situation.
I had no problem with the customer service replacing the blinds. I thought the process was slow, it was still about 2 1/2 weeks for delivery but the blinds were packed individually and well packed. I still do not think I would order from them again. I think the company is in China. I feel I can get better service here.
I ordered blinds from them previously for another house and the blinds and delivery were wonderful. I just moved and ordered four new blinds and I waited three weeks. When they finally arrived they were just thrown in an oversized box. The pulls were not secured, the blinds not wrapped and all the blinds were so tangled we could not even get them out of the box. There was not one piece of packing material in the box. One blind was bent and scratched and another did not go up and down. I can say their customer service was good. They agreed to replace the two blinds but it will be another 3 weeks. I will see the condition when they arrive when I finally get them on August 1. I first ordered on June 14. A long time to wait to get four blinds. I would not order from them again although in the past they were good. Must have sold the company.
I ordered Hunter Douglas duettes for a 4100 sq ft home 17 years ago from American Blinds and now that I am replacing some of them because I had such a great experience with them. This time I ordered Roman shades for 5 windows and 2 doors. I loved the fabrics that I chose, even though I did not have time to order swatches so that was not the problem. I am unhappy that they trimmed the shades down 3/8" from the size of the windows as now they look too small on my windows. On the French doors, the header is so deep that the blinds stand off my windows, thus defeating the purpose of paying extra for room darkening shades. When I contacted them to exercise their 100% guarantee promise, I was told it was my fault because I did not order swatches! I LOVED the fabric, it was the fit that I was not pleased with. When I placed the order, the sales person ASSURED me that if I didn't like the shades, they would replace them but that is such a lie! When I called, I was told I would have to purchase new blinds at whatever discount promotion they were currently offering. The only "guarantee" from American Blinds is that they lie and they falsely advertise satisfaction guaranteed! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM AMERICAN BLINDS AGAIN and highly recommend that others avoid them!
They have a company policy that if there is a problem with your order that customer service should just kick-the-can to the next customer service person until you get tired of calling them or waiting for a call back. They are owned by Home Depot and Blind.com is also a Home Depot company. I plan to avoid all three of them.
Stay away! Great prices, but the worst service ever. I called with a question and ended up ordering on the phone out of convenience. The order was wrong. None of my phone calls or e-mails were returned as promised. They offered the 20% discount to remake my bad product... no thanks. I'm not giving them any more money or rewarding their bad behavior. I have frankly never encountered service this bad before.
Better off going elsewhere. Ordered (10) sets of blinds during one of their constant "sales discounts". All valances were wrong, one blind was undercut. They offer to remake for an additional fee, which means a total loss and the replacement product costs more than the original. They only offer a 20% discount instead of 45% when ordered. No place to stipulate valance return dimension, but it is still my problem according to them. I wish I had not purchased anything from American Blinds.com and will never make this mistake again.
I had order from American Blinds twice before and had good experiences. We are listing our house for sale in the next few weeks, and need to replace one blind. The ordering process was great - no hassle. BUT - shipping was for Feb 6,2017. The date came - no shipping information posted to my account. I understand a day off of shipping - it happens. On Feb 7 I called to check the status and was told the order was on the dock and waiting for Fedex to pick it up and that it would be shipped on Feb 7. I would also be receiving an email update. Today is Feb 8 - no email! I called and was told that the order is on the pallet - and would be shipped today. HA! Maybe it will, maybe it won't! And, when I asked for a manager to contact me about this ridiculous situation, I was told that it would be 24-48 hours before he 'might' call me! REALLY? I guess customer service and 100% satisfaction (as advertised) is just all words and no talk. I will not recommend American Blinds to anyone and rest assured I will not be ordering from them again.

After ordering two sets of double rolls the finished product was horrendous. The seams show and there is no way to fix this. They wouldn't credit me anything back. Now I have to pay someone to rip it down and paint. More money down the drain. I didn't do the job myself and had very experienced people hang it. They tried to convince me otherwise. Don't use this company!
I talked to an associate, measured for my blinds, and ordered them, thinking it would be a great experience. I did not measure properly, without proper guidance, and my blinds did not fit. When I talked to them about returning them, they suggested I donate them to a charity and order new ones from them with a slight discount that was about the price i originally paid. Never, never, never use them.
Absolutely awful customer service. Did not accept any responsibility for late delivery nor did they attempt to do anything to expedite or make any correction to the delay. After receiving notification from them that the package would arrive on the 14th, they acted like they were doing me a favor by getting the package to me five days AFTER the originally scheduled delivery date. Never again! When I said to cancel the order, they refused to cancel as it was now in transit. I'll go anywhere else for my blinds, but definitely won't be coming back here.
I am so pleased with my new powder room! I was in a bit of a rush to complete the project so I thought buying local would be my best bet.
I searched MANY local stores for the perfect wallpaper but was so disappointed. I took my search online, but was only finding designs that I liked but didn't love. Price was also a factor as the area I was covering was small. I didn't want to spend too much for a roll that would end up going to waste. I finally came across American blinds.com and found exactly what I was looking for, plus got ideas for future projects! I was able to get the rolls I needed rushed to me in 2 days for less than it would have to cost to buy the same amount of wall covering from a local store. I will definitely continue to purchase from American Blinds and highly recommend them to all my friends!
We were very pleased with our recent purchase of supaglypta embossed paintable wallpaper. It was used to create a decorative inset on our dining room ceiling, which we finished with trim. The effect is that of a tin panel treatment which fits the style of our 1865 farm style house. We would definitely recommend American Blinds and Wallpaper as a source of quality decorating supplies based on the ease of ordering online, quick delivery, and top notch merchandise.

I ordered nearly $1000 worth of blinds. Received as promised and all but one of the blinds worked and fit well. However, one blind had a non working tilt mechanism. I called and was told a replacement blind would be sent out. Instead I received a replacement tilt mechanism in an envelope with no instructions. I contacted American Blinds and was told that the factory would not send a replacement blind because it was easy to replace the tilt mechanism. I might agree if it failed after using it for a period of time. But a new blind that doesn't work should be replaced with a blind that does work. Worse there were not even any instructions included with the replacement part. I know I could replace it, but I just don't think I should have to.
Answer: Not sure on the brick and mortar site but the man I spoke with lives in Texas, my favorite state in the USA, made me feel even better about this place.
