I placed a large order with Ambiente Direct for furniture for 3 apartments. All of which was confirmed in stock. So having paid, they then told me that the delivery would be split as some items were not in actually in stock. Following a partial delivery of even fewer items than they said would be in the first batch, no further furniture arrived, until I contacted them for an update. I was told that the outstanding items in the first batch had been sold to someone else. I received a one line email from customer services just offering to cancel my order? Not even offering any alternative solution. I had to contact them again to suggest a re-specification of alternative products that were available, which to add further insult were more expensive. These were then promised for delivery to arrive the following monday... I´m still waiting for this delivery over a week later. Customer services don´t respond within an acceptable time frame & you get passed around the doors. I get the impression no one takes ownership of any issue in this company. This was all after my initial payment went into the wrong account as they gave me the wrong bank details... which caused extra work for me to rectify. I now have a half furnished apartment & a very unhappy client. Thanks AB! Never again!
I buy almost everything online and this has been so far the worst experience. Sent me a faulty and damaged item, they only refund if it's returned - so beware, someone is going to receive this item one day! After returning the damaged item, they refunded partially, as someone in the company must have thought that the shipping costs were not to be refundable as well. It's a damaged good, not something that I decided I didn't like! Customer service is the worst and the feeling they leave is that you can't trust them. Never again will I buy on that site.

On the week of delivery DHL contacted me to confirm details
I then received an email from AmbienteDirect asking for an additional 489.20 Euro because it needed to be a 3 man delivery, and would I like to cancel
( I live in a tower block in London, and DHL told me that their driver is not allowed to leave the vehicle unattended when making a delivery)
When I cancelled, they told me that they could not refund my payment until the goods were returned to Germany
I ordered a sofa that was ready to ship. A week later having had no news except for a reciept of payment i tired emailing a dozen times with no reply except for an automatic response. Finally I was able to get someone over the phone who denied I had paid when i had a reciept of payment from them. This person said my reciept was fake. Then said my item was not in stock. When I insisted obviously, this person hung up on me. After all the email attemps, failed calls I had been hung up on? I then called again as I had been debited half the total amount 600 Euros to see what solution they would come up with. The person on the other end of the line told me they had been answering my emails but they were probably in my junk box. TOTAL LIES. Since my item was not in stock and i had guests arriving she offered to find something similar and ready to ship. I agreed and asked for an email record of our conversation. She said she would handle it all and had everything on file. I begrudgingly hung up the phone. GUESS WHAT? I have not had a follow up. NO EMAILS. NOT PROOF OF NEW PURCHASE. NO CANCELATION OF OLD ORDER. NOTHING. NEVER EVER EVER EVER ORDER FROM THESE CROOKS
I did international shopping here. We asked for a certificate of international customs clearance and sent it to the service center, but it was not sent for more than three weeks. I wrote a Certificate of Origin and asked for a signature, but I was ignored. When you complete your purchase and payment, you no longer respond to customer questions. Because of that I paid more tariffs and got courier delivery. The foolish service center does not respond. At your request. I will not visit again.
I have ordered two fatboy bean bags. I have fully paid using my CC. It took the packages about two months (!) to arrive. More than a year later they have contacted me claiming I have an open debit with them. I have checked and it seems that at some point (without my authorization and without me requesting it) they have mistakenly refunded one of the bags back to my CC. I have offered to pay back the original amount using my CC - and they refused. They claim they cannot accept CC at this point... they asked me to do money transfer to their account - I refused. Money transfer is the least trusted way to pay, it is not insured (like a CC or PayPal payment) and the JP Morgan Chase charges me $41 US fee for each wire transfer. So now I got an e-mail from them saying they will contact a collection agency. I welcome them to do so but would like to let anyone out there to know - beware - don't do any business with them. They fail to deliver on time and do not own their own mistakes.
I ordered a light which Ambient Direct claimed was in stock. They deducted my card and then contacted me to say that they didn't have my address. I sent my address and also pointed out that my address features on the invoice that they sent to me. Ambient Direct don't bother to reply to emails, but they did contact me again, asking again for my address. They have not sent my light and I have asked for a refund (many times), they ignore my emails. It feels like they have scammed me out of my money. At best they are a company with woeful service at worst they are cheating scam artists. Do not waste your money with this dreadful company!
I first enquired about a sofa back in April. There service at that time was extremely poor. One person would say it is available and they would place the order, then a month later it hadn't been placed after i chased them only to be told i couldn't order it. Then months later i finally placed the order. Today is November 25th, so 7 months later, it arrives and is the wrong material and colour. Unbelievable quite how useless their service is. There furniture is nice but certainly not worth the pain. Stay very clear and i only wished i'd checked out reviews earlier.\
Do not order with them if you wants your product deliver in the time frame they advertise and even confirm on the phone

I placed an order for two bedside tables in March 2016. Because I didn't check the different colors, I immediately sent an email (it was a sunday night) to make the color change. The following Tuesday (2 days after) I receive a shipment notice of the wrong color. I called and was told that the customer service had "too many emails and thus did not have time to read mine". When I asked what I should do, they told me to place a second order (which I paid for) and reject the initial one so that I can get my money back on the first wrong order. Which I did.
I had to wait 1 1/2 month to get my money back. I called maybe 20 times (Sofia).
Then, I did not understand why the second order I made was not being sent... I called (again) and was told that "the buying department had not yet ordered to the manufacturer the table" (it was stated as "in stock" on the website).
Now, we are May 24th (2 1/2 months later), I received one out of two bedside tables two weeks ago and never got the second one. I called and emailed customer service many times but nothing is being done. I am sure that the community manager of Ambiente DIrect will try to post a comment bellow mine saying that "they are aware blablabla and they are doing the best they can to get my money back" but please be aware: IT IS A SCAM! When you call them they litterally hang up on you because they have too many things to do, and they delay everything to get your money back!

Do not order from this website. They took over 9 months to fill my order for a Tuuci umbrella, stand and cover. The customer service is basically non-existent. I called many times, was on hold for an hour, then disconnected. This happened over and over again. The turnover in the customer service department must be high as when I finally got responses, they were most often from different people. They are full of excuses and lack professionalism. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE. The first time they send me the product, it got lost? How is that possible? At least that's what they told me. Nowadays with tracking, packages that weigh 70 kilos don't just get lost.
Order*******. Ordered a light. Wrong one was despatched and it was broken. Notified the company by email. Took 3 days to get a response, in the end I had to phone them to try and sort it out. Was told that they were aware of my complaint, but that they had been too busy to reply to me! After several more exchanges with 2 members of staff there was mention of sending out a replacement part, but nothing further heard and I have informed them that I want a total refund (as I am legally entitled to receive) and they can arrange for their light to be collected. That was 4 days ago and nothing further heard. I have never had a problem with an Internet purchase until now and cannot believe that an online retailer can be so bad at communication with customers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE APPALLING. I will be taking legal action if no refund processed very soon.
We ordered and paid for two garden chairs over a year! Ago, they have not yet arrived. Apparently they were delivered - which turned out to be false information, then lost, then returned to Ambiente in Germany, now we have been waiting for weeks for a replacement.

We bought a sleeping-sofa, paid almost 800, it said on the website it would be delivered in 3 weeks. After 3 weeks we didn't hear anything. Tried to reach them, but that turned out to be very difficult, by phone and by email. Finally after 1 week someone wrote if we could please send them the order information. We did. It took again days and then they asked more info on the order. It seemed the order was lost? But looking back, this is just a way to make people waiting; they get so tired of it and drop the whole thing or to make everything so blurry that in the end you dont know anymore how it went. Anyway they said now it would be delivered in 2 more weeks. It didnt. Tried to reach them again. After some days we finally got someone on the phone who promised it would be there in 2 more weeks again... Nothing delivered. We tried to reach them, which this time again by phone was impossible, no one picked up. After sending a bunch of emails for some days, finally we received an email saying that they 'had to order the sofá somewhere else, be cause they didn't have it in stock and asking if we wanted to have 10% discount'. We wrote them we want to immediately cancel the order and get our money back. If not, we would take legal action. After few days they wrote our order was cancelled and we would get our money back. When I asked for a proof of that, they just wrote we have to wait a few days and get our money back, meaning today or tomorrow. Today there is nothing on our account, so it will probably be tomorrow... In the meantime we already took legal action. If the money is not there tomorrow we continue procedure and go after them. What a shame this 'company' its amazing it can keep on existing, just like that, a bunch of thiefs.
I ordered a large black Ron Arad Bookworm shelf, which was in stock.
The site stated orders usually ship within 24 hours if in stock, my order shipped within 72 hours. Good enough.
After ordering, I got a order confirmation as usual, then the day after I got another one slightly differently worded. That worried me a little, so I googled and found this site, and then I got a little more worried when reading the reviews.
For what it's worth, I got what I paid for, shipped within a reasonable time.
The packaging was good, additional cardboard box with padding inside.
No complaints from me.
The other reviews left here would make me a bit wary to order from Ambiente Direct again, but then I guess most of the happy customers doesn't bother with posting reviews.

When I was abut to order, I tried their customer service chat to ask a question, went from number two to number one in line quickly, but then I waited for a long time for my turn, and eventually gave up. The customer service by phone weren't any better, gave up that too.
I ordered something here and they never delivered it. Now the 'items is send back to the sender', but they are not available by email or phone. So I assume my money is gone..
On August 26,2015 ordered 3 Bestlite BL9M lamps, order # *******. Prepaid on the same day. At time of order, website indicated availability time as "1 week". I only received one (1) out of three lamps 2 months later. At the time of posting this review (December 2,2015 - more than 3 months later), the other two lamps have not been delivered. Their customer support is virtually non-existent - You can spend hours waiting to get connected to their single customer support line. E-mails are routinely ignored. This is by far the worst online retailer I have ever come across. At best, they are utterly incompetent. At worst, they are simply a fraud and need to be put out of business.
I ordered two bookshelves in May (it said on their sites I would receive them in 1 week), in the end of June half of both bookshelves arrived. I have been e-mailing them weekly since then and tried calling but no one answers. Needless to say they were quite expensive bookshelves...

Answer: My order number is AB00006347 and I ordered my products 29.01.2015. 3 months later they finally respond to my countless e-mails and tell me one of the products is not available anymore and was wondering what to do about my order. I told them that I want to cancel my order and want a full refund, since I also paid my purchase in advance. A person called Mai Nguyen returned my e-mail on 14.05.2015 saying that they have cancelled my order and I will get a refund within 14 days. I posted a review on this site about Ambiente direct and then Christine D. Answered me that her colleague Mai is taking care of my case and I get my refund asap. Today is 17.07.2015 and still no refund. This is just the worst company ever! I did expect a German company to be trustworthy but no. Tell everyone not to have anything to do with these people!
Answer: The way I finally was able to get my issue was resolved was through messaging them on their Facebook page. I had ordered two light fixtures and was short shipped only one. After bringing up the mishap to them and getting no response, then filing a charge-back which was reversed because of the tracking number for the single light fixture that I was shipped I started reaching out to them on Facebook and after pestering them for a couple of months via Facebook they finally refunded me my money. Their Facebook admin was actually quite responsive. I would never order anything from this company again. It was a nightmare to deal with them. Good luck!
