If an Allstate policy holder hits you and is at fault, just pay your insurance deductible, and have them deal with Allstate. They have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. None of their representatives know what is going on and are not familiar with their own business procedures and policies. They make you pay for your own rental out of pocket and then take more than an entire month to send you your own money back.
I was involved in a car accident where an all state insurer hit me. I have been involved with car accidents before but I have never experienced absolute horrible customer service. My car which was hit, is a hybrid, is now having an error which all state has refused to fix. I had to have a rental car for two months because all state denied every attempt the car shop made to fix my car and all state has denied my car rental reimbursement. I am going to look into suing all state via small claims court at this point if no one gets back to me and helps me out. I thank God I have USAA, I could never imagine have such a horrible insurance company.
Worst website ever. Even worse when you try calling their contact number. When you call, you are NEVER given the option of transferring to an agent, nor do you hear ANYTHING about any kind of insurance. Instead I was subjected to a barrage of automated commercials trying to sell me crap that has NOTHING to do with insurance. Yet another fine example of corporate greed, because you know Allstate is financially compensated for providing this annoyance to their clients.
I had purchased a new home and 11 months later had a leak in toliet Allstate sent someone out took pictures they made additional errors and destroyed bathroom that was not part of the issue. They deined my claim with a generic reason and everytime I asked for information they just stated same script. I asked to be connected with a corporate escalation department to discuss my concerns and I was told they do not have one. I ended up filing a BBB claim but this company has horrific customer service from the Agent to the adjuster and leadership is rude. You are not in good hands with Allstate. I can not leave them fast enough and would not refer this business.
This company hates people! First they canceled my policy for no reason. Then for an hour and a half they couldn't explain what was going on over the phone. They refused to contact the manager. The car insurance policy cost $300! They've never wiped their feet on me like that before! For my own money!
The absolute worst for home owners. Picture of my roof after a hail storm. This is "COSMETIC" damage to Allstate. Looks like my roof was attached by hammers. Agent Dan Brown did nothing to help me.
I hI have had a policy with them for over a year. I used to pay $200 a month, but they overcharged me after renewal without notice. Now I have to pay over $300 without my authorization. Do not buy a policy from this company as they are scammers.
This is for the review of my experience. Was a customer of Allstate for 8 years. Never filed a claim. A hail storm came thru and hit my cars and roof. I filed on one Truck, the other is a work truck so no big deal. Allstate covered it fine. (everyone I have spoken with in this process has been nice, professional, and kind)
Our roof started leaking. Filed a claim. Took them six weeks to come back and offer half of what it will cost to replace my room. (2 roof estimates around $20,000, they offered $9,700 with the possibility, not guaranteed, of $4,700 more) My deductible is $3,500. Leaving me to pay $6,800 after my deductible.
We are 9 weeks into the process. Been on the phone more than 15 times with different people, again, everyone has been very professional, and numerous emails and I still don't know if I'm getting a roof.
Bottom line...I have changed insurance companies, and would not recommend allstate to anyone for any type of insurance.

They make certain to charge you the deductible upfront for repairs even when accident is not your fault. They will gouge you every chance they get if you don't turn in a form on time. My car combusted and was a total loss...it was an act of congress to get them to stop charging my bank account. Never again. Sofia Manchuca out of Horizon City is by far the laziest agent I've ever had.
I signed up for home owners for my new house, they sent an inspector out who said my roof (which is 4 years old) has granular damage to it (note: it doesn't) and there was a "pile of debris in the backyard" which is literally wood leftover that I am using to make a fence. They said the roof needs to be fixed and the wood needs to go away before they can reinstate it. They cancelled my policy. Literally such garbage
I submitted a claim for wind damage after a big storm knocked a bunch of shingles off my roof. Had it inspected by their 3rd party inspected "Hanson/Hansen/Hancock something like that" which also agreed there is wind damage. Had a brittle test, pliability test, all failed and they no longer make my 3 tab metric shingle. They suggested cutting up a standard 3 tab shingle which isn't possible. They also would change adjusters on me ever few weeks so I would have to start the process ALL OVER from scratch with the new adjusted. After it was all said and done, I think they had passed me over to more than 10 different adjusters. This is just fraudulent! It took 11 months to finally get my wind damage covered, after going through over 10 adjusters (they kept moving me around just as soon as I started making progress), and had to ultimately take it to the State Insurance office before they finally did ANYTHING. This company is a bunch of scam artist and they WILL NOT cover you when/if you ever have a claim.
Never received it and tracked it down Post Office doesn't except FedEx...

Stay away from allstate home insurance. Adjustor is a fraud. They will treat u like u are not a paying customer. Accuse u of lying. U are definitely not insured if u have allstate. It's a joke. Tell everybody to look for other insurance company. I have neighbors who had an easy process with other companies. Here I am after so many years with allstate and filed a claim for the first time. The adjustor talks to me like I am lying. How can your own insurance company makes u feel like this? They should have your back. This should be illegal be looked at.
I will never even ask for a price quote from Allstate. The commercials are just for vulgar, nasty and nothing that makes me feel safe watching them. Nothing I want to be part of.
Customer service is horrible trying to set up payment plan lady did not try to work with me needed to make payment on the 16th was told had to pay on the 4th and just made a payment on the 16 lady had no compassion for me just pay us our money don't think I will be renewing my policy in February I wasn't in good hands with Allstate
Allstate held me 20% responsible for this accident even with the video showing I tried to brake two seconds before she came out of the parking lot. In what world does the car having the right of way have fault? And she didn't even stop, look or yield. Their agent also told me police reports don't matter (which supports the video). Unbelievable!
Allstate gives me a hard time when I get backup sour water in my basement, After back and forth for long 2 months they paid $1500 instead $ 10,000 cover of my policy. Every day they came with a new reason to not pay my coverage. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ALLSTATE. NO NO NO NO BE CAREFUL YOU NOT IN GOOD HANDSS
Long story short. Bought a house, the roof leaked in our master bedroom so we called All State. They sent out an adjuster who set up a ladder and checked out the roof. His conclusion was that the roof was in decent shape and that he could not prove where the water was coming from so he would deny the claim. So his answer is just let it continue to leak. I asked about mold and insulation damage, he immediately reacted with "that's not covered". Oh, so now he is an agent as well as an adjuster.
We like our agent and I will be giving him a call, I am sure it will not change a thing. By this time next week I will have changed insurance companies as I can't stay with a company who pulls a stunt like this.
