I own an Automotive shop, been in the business for over 35 years. People, do yourself a favor and get a different insurance company. ANY DIFFERENT INSURANCE COMPANY. Could tell horror story after horror story, but there's not enough room here. One star rating is misleading, should have been a lot less than one.

For six years, I diligently paid for Allstate Roadside Assistance. Last week, I needed to use the assistance. OMG. This company is so inept and worthless, I have to warn everyone! The call center in Dallas, Texas doesn't even have or use a map. I was calling from the State of Oregon, and they kept asking me over and over if I was in Maryland. They could not locate the state highway. They could not locate any towns. They refused to call any towing service. After being left on the side of the road for three hours without any assistance, someone stopped and called Allstate and shamed them for being such a bad company. Allstate abandoned me and my broken down vehicle. Awful company. Awful people. Their employees are totally useless.

READ, READ, READ every single word on your HOMEOWNERS policy. When I first began with Allstate at least 30 years ago, I took out the HOMEOWNERS DELUXE which is what I had with the opposition. Now, 30 years later I have a claim for 6 feet of water in my basement when we were away. A severe snowstorm hit followed by 3 days of torrential rains. The power went out on my total electric home.
Now, my walls are caving in, everything was a total loss, including appliances and hot water heater. (The water pressure outside pushed a window in and obviously, the brand new sump pump shut off) ALLSTATE INSURANCE informed me we no longer have coverage for water damage unless pipes freeze and burst.
BE AWARE PEOPLE... YOU MOST LIKELY DO NOT HAVE WHAT YOU THINK YOU DO WITH THESE PEOPLE.
Now, I can't switch insurance companies because I filed a claim they refused to pay.

Quality lead generator. The people that are transferred for the warm calls are actually looking for auto insurance.

I was appalled at seeing your TV ad with a man laying in the street with fire coming out of his head... then up on a roof! What are you thinking? And these are on at times when children are watching TV!
Anyone who produces these kinds of ads is sick!

I'm in the process of gathering info for a class action lawsuits where Allstate ignores factual evidence in auto accident claims and refuses to pay for the full damages done during the accident hoping we can't afford to litigate. Anyone on here experienced this? I don't have Allstate, but the driver of the other car who hit our vehicle does. He ran a red light. We were obeying traffic laws. They're trying to partially blame us for the accident.

I realized that i haven't gotten a notice of my insurance premium for a while. In 2014 My daughter was in a car accident, my husband died and my mother almost died. I went through a lot emotionally and I was grieving still in 2015. For some reason I must have forgotten about the policy because I forgot to pay it. I had this policy since 1999 and I called the customer services representative who was not very empathetic at all. She was kind of rude and came back at me with very sarcastic answers to my questions. Her attitude was well since you didn't pay it, we cancelled you. She also stated that the company sent me a notice in February of 2015 and in April but I told her that I didn't receive either. Oh well my loss. The customer service representative kept stating that they sent it as if I received it, I didn't want to pay my insurance or mail cant get lost. This is the second time this happened to me and I don't understand why a company can be so cold to cancel a policy that has been held for almost 16 years. I told her that it seemed as if they did this on purpose. She stated that they didn't have any reason, but yet there was a reason but she stated that I couldn't get any of the refund of my payments. This company states that it is a name that you can trust but how is this possible when stuff like this happens? So I get two letters sent to me and that's it. No email, no phone call just hope you get our cancellation. If not oh well. The only times I missed payments were in 2014 and 2015 out of 16 years. WOW this is unbelievable. Their slogan is Your in good hands, Really. Hmmm I am not so sure. I can't tell. They did this on purpose.

I left MA for a few months and took my car off the road, and that included removing the insurance and registration to save money. I had auto insurance in another state while away. Currently looking for another insurance carrier since my insurance increased 27% (Hanover) since I've been away (and no fault of mine...). AllState will not insure my auto if I didn't have 12 months of continuous coverage in MA... I had 33 years of continuous coverage in MA, but have been traveling over the past several years and only use insurance when I'm back in state. So even with coverage in another state and many years of previous coverage in MA, Allstate will not insure my auto. Not the brightest policy considering driving record, continuous coverage of an auto for 3+ decades, 33+ years of coverage in MA, etc.

Knowing this, even if I had exactly what Allstate desires, I wouldn't use them. Many other choices out there. I couldn't even get a quote to see if it was even a viable decision. BUT, they will insure my home - I think NOT.

After 30 years with this company, I purchased a new 2015 Toyota Tacoma and called to have it insured before I left the dealership. I gave them the VIN number and Allstate said the only pricing they have is on an SR5, which is a much more expensive vehicle than my basic access cab. They charged me three times the price than what I'm being charged by Geico today. Being lied to and mislead is a bad business model and I will never use Allstate for anything.

False advertising
March 21, 2016

03/21/16
Has anyone experienced automobile insurance quotes from Allstate and Liberty Mutual as advertised on TV ever day? What I have found out is, they advertise to give savings of over $400.00, which I found out was not true. In my case their quote were higher than what I was paying. Their advertisement is false and misleading the public and should be stopped.

I have a mortgage, I have to have home owners insurance, I don't know why because unless a tree falls through our house or it burns down they don't cover anything. Even personal property you get minimal pay out. From what I have researched this is typical home owners insurance no matter what company. WHY do the mortgage holders force us to basicaly through away our money. I am going to lower all amounts it probly won't pay out. And as soon as I do our walnut tree will probly fall into home...
On the other hand Allstate auto insurance for us has been extremely low. They get things done fast.

Had them for years, then had an accident. They claimed suddenly I was behind on my premiums and said they already dropped me. Because I had an accident without insurance, I lost my licence. Add insult to injury, they finally got around to refunding my six month of premiums they had the whole time. Money sucking bastards is what they are.

Do not use Allstate Insurance! I quit them years ago but my dad continued to use them and had an accidental death policy. He recently passed away at an advanced age, when I went to the agent to cancel they denied knowing anything about the policy and did not offer to help track it down (it was deducted monthly from his checking). They gave me a phone number to call and when I dialed it I got an Allstate commercial and a hangup. Calling after that just rang busy. My dad had been with them for years and I would have expected more. I never was able to cancel it until I closed his bank account (they continued to deduct premium after he died). They are legalized criminals.

Had Allstate life for about forty years. The policy is fine, but like most companies nowadays their customer service access is via a horrible phone menu process that wants verbal responses instead of buttons pressed. But the system does not recognize half the prompts given by my clear and educated MidAtlantic voice.
Very annoying, then finally I get through and I am talking to someone whose foreign accent was so thick I had to ask her to repeat herself many times.

I have been a customer with Allstate insurance for years with out accidents, tickets and I have seen their commercials talking about lower insurance, money back for no accidents no deductibles. I sent them a email and they sent me a letter telling me that not everyone qualifies. That's a big Joke for as long as we been a customer we have not been a risk pay are bills on time no accidents no tickets and we don't qualify that's a joke. I'm looking for a new Insurance company now.
