My name is Sharon and both me and my child have suffered with PTSD, potential Down syndrome and potential Autism. Lauren was just peacefully doing her math homework, and I was very proud of her! Until, she started to get everything wrong, and smashed her school Chromebook in PIECES. My family's relationship is now crushed into pieces and my children don't even have dinner with me anymore! I thought it was autism at first, so I called an Exorcist to cast out the demons inside of her. She even googled "How to shoot my self with a '30." She also is dressing very black, and even dyed her hair red (as you can see below). Please delete this app, you are the reason why my daughter wants to shoot her self with a '30!
This software makes me wanna drop out and become a blue collar worker for the rest of my life, it does not work at all and it is ridiculously expensive
The program is only good at making students want to turn into demons. It is a nightmare to understand explanations + examples and the problems in Algebra 1 is already hard enough for an 8th grader, but ALEKS has to increase that by over 9000x. This is one of those times I prefer physical paper. If I ever find the creators, I will not hesitate to force them to fix their program. (+ It's bugs show no end.)
I HATE this app it is a living nightmare to me and it helped my suicidal thoughts and my intrusive thoughts rise through the roof 10/10
Aleks is so annoying and a pain in the put I couldn't say anything nice about this program even if I tried I highly recommend nobody use this program unless they hate themselves.
After doing work on Aleks i immediately wanted to kill myself and blow up América this is a better material to learn Spanish's then math
The ALEKS platform was detested by every student in our class this summer. Explanations of material were superficial and often unclear. The system is balky, constantly dropping students trying to work on it. ALEKS knows this history, but seems to have done nothing substantive to correct it. Customer service varies greatly: from efficient and cheerful to incompetent and rude. ALEKS is a total nightmare for students and professors alike.
This site is terrible. The main thing i hate about this is that the explanations are more garbage than a dumpster from nyc and the examples usually have nothing to do with the actual problem you're trying to solve. Also, they require you to do a "knowledge check" every few days/weeks. When I tell you no one wants to do this i mean NO ONE WANTS TO DO THIS. Whats worse is that they charge money for this sorry excuse of a site. If youre a teacher reading this, please just use khan academy. Its free and they actually help you learn and dont kick you down (like aleks does).
Totally waste of money as it is unorganized and not helpful to kids at all. DO NOT recommend at all.
Does not help at all with its examples as they give problems not related to the actual question. It is overall terrible
If you're an Admin/Prof/Teacher reading about ALEKS, please take my advice and don't use this program.
I have used ALEKS for 2 years now in college, and I can say with certainty that ALEKS was the least enjoyable part of my classes. ALEKS has the most bothersome answering system I have ever come across. I could spend half an hour on a prompt and write the correct chemical equation with no imperfections but still be marked wrong because I had an extra space in between the + sign and an element, or better yet it could be written in a supposed "wrong order." Even if you truly get an answer wrong and ask for an explanation, ALEKS gives you a hard-to-follow "step-by-step" process that looks like an out-of-touch schizophrenic professor wrote it out, I mean robot. Sometimes, when you spend "too much time" on a prompt, you can be subjected to Mentally draining knowledge checks. Your student's grades will suffer after the first week of using ALEKS because they want to avoid sitting in front of a laptop trying to answer the same prompts they were stuck on for the past three nights. It was rare that I genuinely learned anything while using this "program" and it was a nightmare for me and my peers, hence the review bombs.
2 much time, 2 much effort, 2 much nonsense. Your students will hate your curriculum.
Aleks is so amazing that it gave me mental health issues. *eye roll* aleks is the reason why i want to flush my computer down the toilet. It's also the reason why i had to pay a two hundred dollar fine for breaking my computer. :) (im using a different computer to write this review)
Many students have a hard time learning from aleks. It's ridiculous how when you get almost through one series of problems completely and you make a mistake on your last one you have to go back and redo at least three more. For example in chemistry if something has two different chemical names and you don't submit the right name you have to start all over again. It's the same way if you have spent tons of time figuring out math problems all the work you had done doesn't count anymore. It's a poor inefficient learning source that is hard for students to excel in. It could be helpful by changing a lot of things but unless you are just trying to make your students hate the subject not a good program at all.
While doing a topic goal, I came across a certain topic that explained something that contradicted what the answer was. For example, it said that all whole numbers are rational numbers, but in the explanation, it said, "There are rational numbers that are not whole numbers." It also stated that all whole numbers are integers but it also said, "There are integers that are not whole numbers." In the same topic, you would put negative fractions and decimals into the rational numbers section, but you also would put numbers with repeating decimals, which are irrational. Integers would just be negative whole numbers when they should just be whole numbers as they have no decimals right? The last thing they got wrong in this topic is that they never explained the Venn Diagram correctly. Apparently, the diagram was supposed to be in order and the answer was wrong if they were not in the right spots, but guess what, they never told us where to put each label! The only thing said was "Part A is incorrect" and they never even gave us an explanation in the explanation! All it showed was a picture of the diagram saying "Label the diagram" but it never said in which order! Overall, this website is just not good and it makes me just want to give up on math, even though I personally like it and it is one of my favorite subjects.
Literally one of THE WORST learning websites I have ever used and its used by crappy colleges that don't want to actually teach. They give vague, unexplanatory explanations and then throw you stuff that is so off course you want to bang your head into a wall. This website is literally going to make me go bald over stress. I spend hours on this stupid website that OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT HELP ME LEARN ANYTHING If I continue to fail my exams. Study more? I DONT HAVE TIME! ITS ALL WASTED ON THIS STUPID WEBSITE!
I have to use this for my chemistry class for whatever reason and it absolutely SUCKS. It doesn't go over anything and will mark me wrong and make me restart EVEN IF I have the correct answer. It's so infuriating and should be shut down all together.
Hello, I am a student at a school with an option to take a course called "math pathways" based on the "ALEKS" program, I've been in this class for 2 days, (traditional math was not working out for me this year) And I absolutely LOVE this program-hear me out before you come for me, I just started (2 days ago) so I don't know for sure but I have become so much more motivated, sure it has its moments. However I have improved my quality of work after starting this class. I would like to add i have Attention Deficite hyperactive disorder (ADHD) so that could influence my opinion, my pie below.
Answer: Because the ALEKS program is literal hell and we people are just showing our hatred for it
Answer: Most likely.
Answer: Yes deal with it
Answer: Because people want to commit suicide in an original way, and ALEKS is the best way.
Answer: I don't think so but believe me a class action suit would be an improvement
Answer: I paid over $150 for this sumbi**h, I expect it to work
Answer: No i do not think the website owner has issued one but I think the feelings for aleks would be "down the toilet"
Answer: I realize this reply is very late but in case for anyone who needs it: -Let's say you're learning how to use long division. They have 3 questions in it. You master the first one, then go on to the next one. You get the second one wrong, guess what? They punish you and take back your first answer so now you have to answer it again. -How fun! And don't forget the useless knowledge checks!
