It is the worst company.The AC stopped working some time in April for my rental property. I have contacted AHS and AHS sent United Air Temp technician to fix the issue. Technician mentioned that there was some wire issue and he said it got fixed. After the technician left my tenant called me and mentioned AC issue is not fixed. I called AHS again they sent same company technician again and this time technician added 2 LB Freon liquid and he charged me $280, the issue was not fixed after adding the Freon liquid. I called AHS again, this time they sent a Cool Factory technician. The Cool Factory person mentioned he cannot do anything and replacement is only the option. Issue started 45 days ago and It is almost 2 weeks since Cool Factory technician visited. And I am calling every day both Cool Factory and AHS and their answer is report is pending at AHS authorization department and I will get a call back from the authorization department.
And I am calling AHS for last two weeks.So every time I call AHS I need to stay on the call for 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs.It is too hot and my tenant is not able to live in the house but AHS doesn't care.
I Hope no one will sign up for AHS after reading this review.
When you have a company that takes your money and provides no avenue to escalate or express grievances, believe me there is reason management hides behind offshore customer service reps. Two months to repair a refrigerator, unending and conflicting stories. Still waiting!
Increasingly expensive and each year they cover less. Substandard contractors and absolutely horrendous customer service. It's a nightmare to get calls answered or returned and you're on hold for hours if not days.
Customer service is the worst I have ever seen in my 74 years. Was told by a AHC agent my contract did not cover our hot water heater. Which was strange since I had my policy in front of me that clearly states Hot Water Heater is part of the contract. I question the integrity of American Home Shield.
Please stop using these people. Horrible service. Never on time and poor technically. Installed a new air unit last Sept in a terrible manner (took over 8 hours) and it went down in less than a year. Now waiting for service for an hour past the 3 hour window given.
Paying a monthly fee for a warranty you expect the company to do something! This company will pay for nothing to be fixed or repaired or replaced. We had the best coverage you're supposed to be able to get... we pay a monthly Service contract fee and then pay $75 every time there is an issue that is covered under our warranty. You would hope they cover the rest. But you'd be wrong! They will find every reason why they do not pay for items very clearly stated as covered in your contract. Worst customer service to boot! I was put on hold at least 6 times over the course of a 1 hour and 58 min. Call trying to ask about cancelling my contract. I think they were hoping I would give up. This company is the worst.
THEY ARE UNREACHABLE! OUR DISHWASHED HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR 3 WEEKS, SINCE 5/22/2020. SUPPOSEDLY THE REPAIR FIRM IS AWAITING PARTS FROM AHS. THEY REFERRED ME TO CALL AHS FOR A STATUS, AND EVERY TIME WE CALL WE'RE IMMEDIATELY ON HOLD FOR HOURS! LITERALLY HOURS!
WE WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE RENEWING OUR CONTRACT WITH THEM.
IF I COULD RATE THEM WITH ZERO STARS I WOULD!
I filed (and paid for) a claim in October of 2019 when I purchased my home. Its is now June 2020 and my stove and refrigerator still don't work properly. The original contractor came out and said that the refrigerator needed to be fixed and the stove replaced. AHS tried to dispatch another contractor a few days later for a second opinion because they THINK BLACK BUSINESSES ARE INCOMPETENT. AHS hasn't done anything but give me the run-around for 10 months. These "parts" have been in the mail for 10 months. AHS is HORRIBLE! Don't do business with them. Spend your money elsewhere. Look at this old crap they've been trying to fix...
You end up paying twice for all service calls, because nothing is covered. So, you pay the deductible, or service fee, plus the technician fees to fix the issue. Don't waste your time or money with it.
They are not covering anything, you pay for 90% of the cost if you repair through them if you hire contractors you pay less.
They are collecting the money and each time you call to take about the issues, you have to have wait for ours no matter which department you call, the only department would answer you is the sale department, you call, it's not because of COVID-19 all the time anytime.
There are lots of uncovered costs.
Don't waste your time and money.
March 27 2020 I made an electrical claim. Iam still going back and forth with them. They claim one day ot requires access which 2 of the 3 electricians they've sent out for diagnostics told us it did not that it's a simple wire replacement. The next day they tell me o we dont replace electrical wire. They promise me call backs from supervisors to resolve this issue. To date I've received no call backs. Bit I've called numerous times. Put on hold an hour plus been hung up on and lied to repeadedly. They are fraudsters and will take your money. Run from them dont waste your time or money. I just filed a complaint with the BBB today.
6 weeks still no refrigerator in fact its still broken. Just went out and got a new one. This is the 2nd time since 2018 non refrigerator for 1 month then now it 6 weeks. They will do nothing to help me no compensation in fact they say I owe them money since I broke contract. I wonder what the higher ups would say? Do they care? My appointment was cancelled so much foe weeks at a time even though all the parts were here. One person said they should have given me money for a new one, because they spent more money on parts than the refrigerator was worth, that was a repair man. I have dropped my policy. I turned in a request on May 21,2020 for my air conditioner, the contractor came out May 22, told us we needed a new unit. I contacted american home Shield on Monday 25th. Got no answers then called contractor got no answer, it's now June 2, I still have no answer from ash, I'm in okla. So the temp is 95 degrees I finally called another contractor to fix my unit on June 1 and they are here today June2 to replace my unit. To say the least AHS has terrible service and apparently the contractor they were using was just as bad! I would never recommend this company to anyone, Very unhappy Jo Roberts
I wish I could give American Home Shield a Zero or a Negative star rating. Bad service... bad phone rep... pay a lot and get very little... just a few minutes ago I called to ask a question; the phone rep suddenly says, "Oh s#$t. I accidentally just cancelled your service." I asked him to undo since my policy had not yet run out. He said he can't and without saying another word put me on hold for 20 minutes at which time I hung up. AHS = absolute scam.
9 days w/ no AC 80-85 degree weather w/ no end in sight. RUN LIKE YOU ARE ON FIRE FROM THIS COMPANY.
Worst customer service. Every time you call them prepare to be on hold for 50-60 minutes, if you're lucky you wont get disconnected after being on hold that long and have to call back in and start all over like it did with me. 2 hours jut to get a call status.
I only have AHS because the warranty came with my newly purchased home. In the ten months having the warranty, I've had to setup six contractor visits to service my HVAC. With one exception, the contractors that came out had no clue what they were doing and pretty much just said "that will get you through to the next season" when they were done. Today, I had to schedule another contractor to come out (first time turning on A/C this spring and of course it didn't work). They can't come out to service the HVAC for a week, so I call AHS and have to wait an hour to get someone on the phone. I'm told there is only one contractor to service the area and "that's just the facts". So I'm forced to wait a week with no other option than hiring someone out of pocket. I will definitely not be throwing my money away renewing my account with this thieving company!
Recently March 3 had a microwave problem.the guy came out never showed up again. Called ahs when I finally got through 2 days 8hrs of trying they sent a reputable guy out. June 3rd still no microwave. You talk to anyone there. A few years ago my ac needed work.the guy they sent tried to charge me 100 a lb for r22 which would come to 1400. 00 could have used a substitute like mo 99 at 20a lb. Said they would not do it ran him off the property got a local guy who brazed the pin hole and loaded it for 450.00 bucks. I have had as for 10 years and going to choice. Ahs has went to hell. No customer service.
Please do not buy this warranty i had issues they gave me run around hold for hours every time diff story and then i called because i was super upset wanted to cancel the warranty the person i talked agent id ******* name carol i think you guys can listen to the phone call i made around 4:30 Ca time on 5/26/20 she told me there was a charge 34 dollar to cancel the warranty i had paid for 12 months and used only for 10 months when she told me the charge i was gonna ask her since i am not getting any money back for 2 months left i rather keep it but she cancelled it when i was just asking her why have to pay 34 dollars to cancel which was not disclose when i was talking abt cancelling it anyways plz DO NOT BUY THIS HOME WARRANTY I had to pay them 125 and for repair 216 for 5 mins repair and i was told i would get some refund from ac company and might get deductible back i didnt want to get it done free i wanted to be fair
They would not fix stopage we dont do that kind. But still collect the $75.00
Was on hold 1.8 hours for cancelation and they charge an admin fee to cancell
