We used Agoda's services to book a hotel so that I, a child with extreme chronic illness, could receive intense medical treatment at Boston Children's Hospital. Despite canceling the reservation and being within the cancelation window, when I was told to move locations to receive life changing surgery Agoda refused to refund a $1,000 bill for a hotel that we were not staying at and lied about it multiple times. We need that money to pay for my surgery and yet they refused to return it!
I booked a room through Agoda stating 13th oct to 14th October and it clearly states that i have one day booking. When i went to hotel they said its only 3 hrs booking. Where in the world hotels book for hours. At least Its not allowed in Dubai on hotel license. Instead of facilitating, their manager called and said there was no point of calling you but i called. And they have put the blame on me that I didn't check before booking whereas i did and i have screenshot. I have already filed a complaint against hotel and Agoda at Dubai Tourism Department and will continue to put this on every platform
Please beware of the utterly low prices shown in this online hotel booking platform (Agoda). I have no complaints with the hotel or stay there.
I had specifically booked a delux room with agoda, pleasantly surprised that the price listed for the delux room was much economical compared to other sites. While Agoda goofed up and submitted the receipt to the hotel to book a standard room. While this entire issue was brought to notice to agoda, time and again 2 weeks in advance, agoda choose not to take any action. Agoda made empty promises saying they will refund the extra fee should we upgrade the rooms, but nothing happened, and all their customer service channels are faulty. I have wasted so much time in chatting with their chat agents, who have no clue how to deal with such issues and are absolutely incapable of providing realistic solution. Agoda also has some multi level travel agency system, where they make the booking through travel yatra and travel guru, everything is so FISHY
At midnight I booked a room thru agoda at the extended stay America aurora Denver. I was tired and on crutches and in a ton of pain. I paid on the site and upon arrival I was told the hotel was closed. I was able to reach them only to be turned away because they were overbooked. I've still not received a refund and I've called several times only to be told they will call me back. Nope. Guess I lost my money this time but they've lost a customer.
First and last booking with Agoda. They bait and switched our room. Said it was an "upgrade" (from queen beds to full). If we had wanted a refrig and microwave, we would have booked that room. We wanted bigger beds for 4 adults. No compensation or solution. When I told them I was going to submit a less than favorable review for the non-approved switch, they basically implied that they filter out bad reviews so go ahead. I believe it! Never again! Do not trust them with your money!
Big scam! It said free cancellation and pay at hotel. Right above where it asks for credit card details it had said your account will not be deducted at this time in green letters. I thought they would deduct money once I got to the hotel, but nope after a few seconds it had been deducted from my account. When I called them they said I should have read the conditions, I told them I had and this is what it had said they told me I should have taken a screenshot before making the payment.
Usually on Agoda, if you go to a hotel you would still be able to view the rooms and deals that was offered before and see what conditions they had it for, but when I went back to look at it, they had dissabled this function for this hotel.
They did agree to make the cancellation, but made it sound like they moved a mountain. Now I have to wait upto 30 days to get my holiday money refunded back to me.
Didn't receive any apologies was just basically told I'm lying and I should have taken a screenshot. I pointed out they hadn't even apologized she said sorry you feel inconvenienced but it's not our problem.
Made a mistake on our booking and we lost our booking dates an amount of the money paid.
The hotel did confirm to Agoda and myself that Agoda made a number of mistakes. However Agoda avoided any responsibility.
Based in Hong Kong and will take up to one hour each phone call to NOT get an issue resolved.
If you use Agoda, you risk loosing money. Go direct to the hotel.
The worst experience in booking a hotel. They changed the dates of our booking immediately after booking. We have screenshot for confirmation when we booked the proper dates and then got an email confirmation stating dates for weeks ahead. We immediately contacted them and were told to wait and hour. No change after an hour so we reached out again and the customer service kept saying nothing could be done as they do everything through a magical third party who was out of the office at that time. How are you customer service yet unable to answer any customer concerns? After being on hold for an hour and nothing coming from it we talked to the hotel and we're able to change the booking in minutes. They then claimed that their magical third party made that change. We informed them it was us and if we were to be double charged we would report it. This service is SHADY and HORRIBLE. DO NOT TRUST
I had booked a room at the Signature Club Resort near Bangalore Airport through Agoda booking. This was my first time using this service. The booking was done well in advance in July for September and it was confirmed. I showed up at the hotel only to find out that the booking was cancelled by Agoda. Apparently they had issues charging my credit card and they sent emails 2 days prior to my arrival at the hotel. I didn't have access to my phone or my email while traveling. And there were no issues with my credit card. When I called customer service at a later date, they confirmed that they have the correct credit card. So I don't know why they cancelled it. It was unnecessary expense and headache for me. Expense traveling from the airport to the hotel (only to find out the booking was canceled) and then spending time (while very tired) to look for another hotel nearby and spend more money to reach that new hotel. I didn't know anyone there nor I was familiar with the place. And this is why I had arranged everything ahead of time. I will never use Agoda booking ever again.
Online, Agoda showed the room prices in Singapore dollar, from $123, so i chose the $138 room.
Up to the payment page, Agoda still show the total cost in Singapore dollars SGD $454.14
But after i made payment, i realised i was charged SGD657.28.
That is az price difference of SGD203.14. For a 3 day double room stay!. My setting is clearly in SGD$. When asked, Agoda accused me of changing the setting to SGD only after I had paid.And at first, Agoda suggested that maybe i never put my setting to SGD. When I said I did and show Agoda the screenshot, Agoda then accused me of changing it to SGD only after I paid. Agoda even said that this cannot be used as proof. I took a screenshot of every page as i was scammed by Agoda before in the past. Agoda always show a lower price than its competitors, but after you make payment, you then realise the price Agoda show is actually really in USD $ or EURO but shown in $... USD, even though you set it in SGD. The numbers are the same, the currency is not.

I booked an apartment with Agoda through booking.com for 4 nights in Rome, thought I was all sorted. I randomly checked my junk mail on way to airport, only to find they had cancelled my booking, with no explanation whatsoever. I tried to call them, and they put the phone down. I arrived in Rome at 7pm, thought I'd go to apartment in case there had been some sort of administrative error, there was no one there to meet me, couldn't get access to the apartment anyway. This was very scary to find myself alone in Rome with nowhere to stay. Fortunately I met some wonderful kind locals who helped me out, and I found accommodation in another hotel. I still have had no apology, and they said I had cancelled the booking?! Why would I do that? Very poor service.
Agoda show us how disorganized they are. After 6 days they cannot solve problem, they stop answer on email and on phone repeat just the same, which is "send us email".
So we recomand it to everyone book your hotels via booking.com or hotels.com. Because if something happen, they have really service which helps you and not like arogant and lazy agoda.
Agoda's customer service had been really disappointing. I booked a property (Agoda Home) through them and the booking confirmation didn't provide any information on the check in procedure, eg how to check in or where to collect keys etc. It doesn't even include any contact details to contact the owner / person-in-charge. To make it even worst, as I noticed these issues after making the reservation, I contacted their so-called customer support and highlighted these issues. The interesting thing is, the "standard company policy" which I found the customer service representatives had always been referring to when they respond is that they'll respond on the issue within 24-48 hours to my email. Now I can certainly be a witness to say that even with the ridiculously generous timeframe that they had asked for, they didn't even answer the queries. As my trip is literally happening the next day, I called them and guess what! They said that they weren't even aware there was such a request to check on those things. Then all they did was throw me the contact number of the property and asked me to contact them myself for all queries, eg when I checked whether linens and towels were provided! I honestly don't know what they are paid for (commissions) if they can't even perform their responsibilities as agents! Agoda used to be good and I had made many bookings through them previously but I read some reviews in various languages and all had pretty bitter experiences with them. Anyway, good luck to you all who consider using their service because after this bad experience, I probably would book through the many other online travel agents elsewhere. After all, travelling is supposed to be a happy journey, unfortunately I felt that the many glitches caused by booking via Agoda was definitely not worth it.

They refunded part of a cancellation but the Agoda dollars are not taken at many of the hotels in their site. The website and payment system is clunky. Why would you ever use this site? Go to Expedia or Hotels.com or just call a hotel direct and use your AAA discount. This was a mistake.
It is INDEED A SCAM COMPANY.
They duplicated my 2 bookings into 4 bookings, deducted money twice and are now not even accepting the responsibility of it.
They are putting the onus of cancellation on hotel which is not fair.
If hotels refuse to cancel, they will simply STEAL my money.
They are scammers, If you are incorrectly charged from the hotel, they will blame you and charge you. Agoda and the hotels are abetting and complicit. Never trust them.
The payment system is a scammer and it does not need any confirmation or verification n to deducted your $ and worse they don't allow any refund
As a hotel owner, Agoda is the worst OTA on the market!
They charge higher commission than any other agent, but they undercut the other online agents and even pay up with their own money.
For example: When I sell my rooms for 800 THB/night on every online platform the same, Agoda will through in some "vouchers" and only charge 513 THB/night. This is 150 THB/night less then what we even get paid from Agoda, so they are literally paying from their own pocket in order to steel customers from Booking.com or Expedia. Dirty Game, Agoda!
When asked about it, they don't care and so we do not sell rooms on Agoda any longer.
I would NOT recommend Agoda to anyone as they play dirty and their platform is one big cheat.
Agoda is a scammer! I hate agoda. Everyone do not use agoda! They misinformed the hotel that I have completed my payment, the hotel charged me with the rooms.
Answer: I didn't know that? I have had the best deals from them and I find them very helpful.
Answer: I don't bother making lists just search for where I am going and select the best deal for at least 1 mth before its needed and keep track of prices

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
