I made a trip but a family emergency came up and this was unforseen circumstances. I asked to cancel or even move the date. They did not budge. This was a big purchase for me and unfortunately with family circumstances I had to choose family over a vacation. I lost out on the trip and money. No compassion or just money hungry. I will never book here again or recommend. I usually use hotels.com and I will continue to do so.
I've had the worst experience booking through Agoda.com. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, our hotel booking in Italy was cancelled. However, Agoda has taken nothing to do with it and says it's between us and the hotel.
I wanted to check the terms of use when I made the booking through Agoda in February 2020. After numerous phone calls over the last month and the worst customer service I've ever dealt with including being told that I would receive the terms of use within days and the manager should be phoning me back after this phone call - none of this happened and I still haven't received the terms of use. They seem very reluctant to hand them over which I find suspicious.
After booking through Agoda. The property I reserved a booking at failed to answer their phone after at least 10 calls back to back... I then waited another hour then called again. I also spoke to Agoda regarding this property and their response was that I had to wait till check inn time which was 7pm at night however, the email received from Agoda and the property was that I could ring ahead and request an early check inn. The problem was Agoda couldn't even reach the property. Because of this I was forced to stay in the local park as I couldn't even check inn after 7pm as no one could be reached for me to even get into the building.
Absolutely disguised by the service received and I will not be recommending Agoda to any of my friends and family. Minus 100 for service
This was my first time booking with them. Everything was going well until I went to book the room. I was met with a Message questioning my identity and informing me I had to send a picture of my card as well as a picture of my DL in order to be "verified" I was confused and honestly a bit offended since I had never had that issue before but ok I did it. Once I upload the pictures I am met with another message telling me it can take 24hrs to verify... This was a last minute booking after I got stranded traveling. I immediately went to hotels.com signed in and even got a rate $10 cheaper. Flash forward an hour later I see that Agoda attempted to take the money out of my account (I personally keep my cards locked while traveling so they were unsuccessful) I contacted customer service, this booking that I was trying to get but never actually booked was cancelation friendly btw, I was informed that they went ahead and booked it without verifying. I explained the situation to the agent and was told, sorry no refunds. So after arguing for a bit another young lady got on and helped to clear it all up. I am giving 1 star because this was highly irregular from the beginning and hotels.com took me 2 minutes to book with no problems at all. I will not use Agoda in the future.
Flawed system. BEWARE you will still be charged! If you choose your hotel and put in your dates and the number of people, you MUST hit the search button even with the hotel information below. If you do not hit the SEARCH button, your dates will not change and if you hit "BOOK THIS HOTEL" which is the green button below, the dates you put in at the top of the screen DO NOT CARRY OVER and you will book a room on the date originally in the form. THEN if you have booked a room that is non-refundable, you will get the dates in your confirmation and they will be the WRONG DATES! If you get in touch with customer service 20 seconds later, your still SCREWED as you will still have to pay for the wrong dates. Now, to make matters worse, you can't contact customer service as you can with EXPEDIA or HOTELS.COM or other reputable services which gladly fix the booking errors. You have to start a chat with a robot and go in circles until you choose "other" as your main issue and type in "customer service" (a joke I can assure you) and then it will give you a chat with a person who will tell you that you are screwed and were stupid for using Agoda because they want their money and will bend you over to get it.
I reserved a stay in Nashville, TN through Agoda at 121 Hotel. I drove 13+ hours from New Jersey and have not slept for a whole day until late that night. My mom was in the car with me and both she and I were exhausted after a long drive. Upon arrival, I had received an email sent just hours ago saying my stay at 121 Hotel was cancelled. We stayed 4 hours in the car waiting for this reservation to be resolved, for Agoda to rebook our stay.
Note that I had previously confirmed check in, submitted my ID, and had gotten a confirmation email for my extended stay before this cancellation occurred.
Then, Agoda overcharged us. They have hidden fees and even when you add all the hidden fees together, it still doesn't add up to what they charge you, hence the overcharge.
I called 121 Hotel 4 times and called Agoda customer service at least 3 times to re-reserve my booking that was mistakenly cancelled for me by 121 Hotel. Also, Agoda had false advertised their suites. They claim that the suite is 635 square feet, but when I called 121 Hotel (after re-reserving with them directly after the mistaken cancellation), they said that there are no suites at 121 Hotel that are that size at all (booked or not booked). All together, I had experienced terrible customer service. One of the Agoda agents shut the phone in my face on purpose. Every agent I spoke to was not able to resolve the problem I had. Since Booking Holdings owns Agoda, I ask for your company to step in and compensate me for this horrible experience Agoda had me go through. I have lost extra money, time, and effort.
If I had to choose between booking through Agoda or spending the night in a casket with a corpse, you'd bet your $#*! I'd be snuggling up to that cadaver having the deepest sweetest slumber of my life!
Not only do they deploy misleading and dishonest pricing strategy (showing pricing without taxes and fees and having different pricings on different platforms ie app vs desktop). Their customer service is disturbingly bad! The customer service rep who served me named Ida was either completely dishonest or was trying to play the ignorance card on purpose. She not only refused to honour the price match request which was 100% valid and clear as days by using one bulls*** excuse after another, she also wasted hours of my time. She had absolutely NO idea what customers service means and is an absolute disgrace to the hospitality business and booking platforms everywhere.
I swear on my life I will never EVER use Agoda again and will tell every single soul I know about this atrocious first-time experience in dealing with you. You can expect this negative feedback on every single platform you have and I will also be following this up with Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) to investigate your unscrupulous ways.
Booked, then realized we could not use the hotel we booked at... and cancelled.
They billed us instantly, and now tell us it will take them 30 days to process a refund.
NEVER AGAIN.
*Booked a property though Agoda for the 1st time.
*we started developing Covid symptoms 2 days before the trip and tried to reach out to Agoda for cancellation of room.
* customer care service is worst and took almost a day to reach out to them.
*Meanwhile property agreed to refund saying we have get a buyin from Agoda as well.
*Now comes the real hustle trying to reach out to them and explaining our whole situation due to Covid.
*They refused to cancel and refund even when we reached out to them like 2 days prior to checkin.
*they were really not cooperative even during this whole pandemic when situation is not in our hands.

This is a scam - we reserved for 29th - 1st and sent them the email showing it. They changed the reservations to the 30th -2nd and said the email was google who changed it not them. They said I should contact google for my reservations! We can have $10 for inconvenience when it cost me hundreds for another room for the night they took from us.
Cancellation is a scam. I booked for the xmas and cancelled two weeks prior. No refunds. Don't waste your money on this. They just sending idiotic survey emails how they do blah blah blah.

We booked a mountain place on Agoda and got a confirmation, however on check in day, there was still no check in info despite my multiple messages over several days requesting the information. There is NO customer service---no number to call, only online chat which was consistently unavailable. When we went to check in, the property had no record of our reservation, as Agoda had not properly submitted the reservation to them. So, at 4pm, we suddenly learned that we had no place to stay and there was no reaching Agoda customer service. Very frustrating and completely unreliable. In making inquiries, the property manager said this was the second time this week that she knew of, that had happened with Agoda. I will NEVER use this app again.
The swindlers operating Agoda have implemented deceptive ways to rob the customers of any opportunity to cancel a reservation. The booking I had showed 'Partially Refundable' I click on it and it opens a help page where chattting is the only option. But it's with a bot! Click on 'Cancel Booking' and it says this booking cannot be cancelled, please contact customer service by phone or email. Clicking on the link for customer service opens a page that does NOT have any phone number or email address. All links lead back to the chat service which leads back to the chat service. Sneaky! I searched the net and got a UK number for customer service. Moral of the story - NEVER book through Agoda and get a lawyer ready for a lawsuit if you do book from it.
Deducted money from my bank account without me booking not even an email was send to say where my money went I'm frastrated cant get any people from the company agoda to help or respond to my email
I needed to cancel my booking due to ending up in hospital. They denied refunding me in full even with a compassionate request and medical letter. I asked to speak with management high up- never get a response or any assistance. No one helps to resolve issue. If I died I do not think they'd refund either- its disgusting
Agoda didn't remit our money due my property for almost a year now, I already sent emails but no avail, I am property owner in the Philippines
Agoda booked the wrong room for our trip and then after a long drawn out email and live chat admitted their mistake and said the hotel would upgrade us free. Unfortunately, this was a lie as the hotel knew nothing about it. We paid an extra 300 to get the room we had already paid agoda for. Agoda customer service couldn't care less! Will never use them again. Please book with someone else!
Terrible customer service, more over you feel like you are saving money but the chances of you missing a flight or your booking getting cancelled are far too high.
I booked a flight with them and ended up missing the flight, because they put in dummy details in the system hence the airline had no way of contacting me, agoda did not contact me as well. Hence I did not know about the flight change.
Now the customer care says I need to wait 3 months for a reply.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
