I booked a hotel through Agoda, and was supposed to receive cashback on my credit card 90 days after checkout. I paid at the hotel, as suggested in Agoda, and checked out as planned. A day later I check my email and it says my booking was cancelled. I called customer care, who are of no use, and told me that since it says the booking was cancelled, I will not receive the cashback. Disgusting by Agoda, I would NOT recommend anyone to use this app or website to make any bookings.

We've been scammed by agoda and our entire pilgrimage went sour. Terrible. This is not the 1st. Time we went to Dubai. Paid in full only to be told that we only paid half and we need to cover the rest. Agoda's site is not safe.
We reserved hotel in dubai. But when we got there the hotel said that they didnt approve the reservation and we had to pay more money for the room, agoda didnt answer to the phone they published and didnt gave us any solution
This was the WORSE service I ever had in many years of travelling! We booked the apartment 3 weeks prior our arrival and the day we arrive we didn't receive any check in details (apartments without reception so should receive info through agoda). We have waited 3 hours with 40 degree and a baby of only 10 months and the only solution provided was a DORMITORY at the same price 3km away, a dormitory really? This website is totally unreliable, unprofessional, at the end we had to cancel everything, we never knew what happened to our booking obviously already paid and we had to book an hotel very expensive at last minute. At the end we paid an apartment, new hotel, taxis to move to the new hotel and even international calls because Thailand customer service didn't work and we had to call Agoda France to understand what was happening. Saying this money doesn't compare the heat stroke of a 10 months baby, this is what makes our next move with our legal representative and just after the press which we are lucky to work with. Customers and friends don't TRUST AGODA, keep using booking, airbnb for your SAFE travel.
I cancelled my booking according to their terms and they did not refund my booking. Avoid this company

I booked a resort with different room type which was superior hill view through agoda.and then I confirmed with the resort just to double check on booking.I got to know that they (agoda) have booked a twin room for me instead of superior hill view. On Agoda website, there is nothing mentioned about twin type bed under superior category.I called the agoda team and raised the query and explained everything about confusion they have about categories. Agoda team connected with resort internally and they raise a wrong request to resort that customer wanted to change the room type to superior (screen shot shared with me by resort coordinator) which was highly mismatched.why would I request to change the room when I booked a right one and the glitch from agoda side. According to the website we did the right booking. But now struggling to get right room for right booking according to their information and mentioned in the website.also resort coordinator confirmed that they have not open few room for online booking still it was showing in Agoda.
Overall, the information displayed on agoda website is totally vague.and lead to misguide. If you book through agoda you have to check and confirm with resort also you just can't sit relax and will end up cancelling bookings.
I booked the a Hotel in Prague. On arrival at the hotel they denied having any booking at all with my name or the booking reference number. They even said they have never received any booking confirmation from Agoda for the booking. I had to call continuously call Agoda support which took me around 10 euro of international calls, 2 hours of long hold & embracement sitting there in the reception area (as there was no booking for me).
I asked Agoda support team to book an alternate hotel. Which they should have done from their end as this clearly seems to be their mistake. But they did not do it. Even though those hotels I could see available in Agoda itself.
Considering the easter holiday most of the hotel prices were high or rest are overpriced for the last minute booking. I booked a different hotel, which initially I asked Agoda support team to book & also from Agoda app (With a higher fare last minute).
I had to take a cab again to the new hotel. Change all my schedule as I was already 3 hour late with all these hassle.
To Agoda credit they paid me the difference. Which they just could have booked on my behalf.
To my credit I trusted again Agoda for the second time and booked from them (In my defence I was booking again from Agoda wishing a full refund from them)
Hope the Agoda team book a hotel and face the same situation. Then they might understand.
They offer great prices and market their products very well; visuals and content are very aggressive and efficient. I was extremely happy with them until they didn't honor a cancellation already approved
It is the WORST customer service ever - recommend you check reviews on facebook and other chats before using them.
Different agents kept approaching, and none knew what the other had written. They Keep you busy and confused so you will get tired and quit while they keep your money against their own policies. After each time one of them wrote; you get 2 emails asking how was the service - it is so absurd and obvios, it is even funny! I am convinced they think we, the customers; are dumb to treat us like that.
After seeing the worst of them; happy to return to Airbnb, Expedia and other more reliable companies with better ratings, which have proven honesty and reliability in all affairs.
Remember cheap things can turned into the most expensive!
I was lucky and found out how they work with a small amount - can't imagine how much money people have lost to them.
I had to change my credit card number as the original was compromised by some online users. I notified Agoda of the change but their system could not update my CC number. In stead they asked me to establish a new account number, to which they would transfer my reservations. This process took several calls and many weeks. But to my horry, when I arrived at my hotel in Japan, Agoda had automatically CANCELLED all my reservations, each and every all subsequent reservations. I made several expensive international calls to Agoda but to no avail. Fortunately, I was able to convince the hotel to allow me to stay in their spare emergency room. I have used Agoda for many years, but now I WILL NEVER USE AGODA AGAIN.
Do not use this company. I tried to cancel in less that 24 hrs to no avail. Agoda was saying I have to cancel with the property (hotel), hotel was saying it was agora I have to cancel with since they are the one that did the booking. After Agoda charged my credit card which is way before the check in date, they sent me a cancellation policy of 363 days prior.
I booked a 2 night trip for our wedding anniversary. I am disabled. My husband became very ill, we were unable to travel, and no allowances were made for us. Agoda did not request any documentation in regard to our circumstances, and did not care in the least about our particular situation.
I tried to contact Agoda through the customer support and cancellation option, but since it was ignored I decided on this approach.
Agoda, it is very hard even to start expressing how disappointed I am. I have been your loyal customer for a long time and never before had experienced the situation like this. Following the info from the application, we arrived at the address of tonight's accomodation and it turned out to be a completely empty and derelict building. We paid for the accomodation in advance through the application with the card. There was absolutely no answer to my email, which I sent way in advance, or any kind of communication from the owner. The neighbours told me the owners moved away to England long time ago and they already had the situations like this for tourists looking for this place but when they tried to call them the phones of the owners were not active anymore. I already had the problem with my card being overcharged for the accomodation in Sarajevo but this brings scam on the next level. But then the real disappointment began. I contacted Agoda's customer service with the hope to find the solution to this situation. The agent wrote it will take 10 to 30 minutes to review my issue and yet we waited for HOURS without any answer! I was already badly sick and they let me and my girlfriend to wait for HOURS in cold and dark! Now my health is completely ruined and I am not able to continue my trip and will have to spend a lot of money for a recovery in a foreign country! I waited for the solution but since none was given I have to go to the police to report this scam.
I expect Agoda to give us full refund for this booking, and in addition to that a monetary compensation for the ruined health and all the shock and trauma we went through tonight.
I have booked collection O ******* Hemadri Residency 2days before journey from KSR Bengaluru City railway station. I have paid Rs.200 for Auto to rich there 3.7km from railway station but after reach hotel the staff asking for additional Rs. 600 per day additional & very rude behaviour of staff please take care what you are booked 3rd class staff behaviour that I do not want to stay free also. After trying to reach Agoda customer service to lodge the compliant there is no option to reach. So don't trust Agoda & don't spent money & time to reach this kind of hotel because they don't bother about you and your family very risky to visit this kind of hotel with family.
It's almost like when you go to a store shopping and looking for sale prices but what they really do is they rack up the price and then put a sale price on there and all actuality you're still paying more and there is no sale on it that's exactly what this aguda site does is a falsely advertise a price click on it and go to check out you have promotions discounts somehow you still paying way more I could have gone to other sites probably paid less they are fraudulent and scam artists
Agoda spent 2 days being obtuse and downright dishonest to make sure they didn't have to repay and keep the cancellation money. Sadly this is policy.
Agoda claims 'no hidden fees', yet they added on a 'cleaning fee' to my hotel reservation that was 50% of the price they quoted.
It said in the website before 7:30pm I can cancel and I tried but the button didn't work. They customer service is really awful and not helpful at all. Please don't trust this website. Super dissatisfied
Repeatedly books wrong dates. Supposably a platinum VIP member but can never get replies on their horse $#*!e chat. Just a rip off app that costs you money because you can't cancel the bookings their cropola system books you. Avoid at any cost.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
