The company has garnered a mix of feedback, with some customers appreciating its long-standing reliability and ease of use for financing purchases. However, a significant number of reviews highlight persistent issues with customer service, including unresponsive support, difficulties in account management, and problems with payment processing. Many users express frustration over identity verification hurdles and lack of resolution for payment disputes, which has negatively impacted their credit scores. Overall, while the service has potential, its current execution leaves much to be desired, leading to a growing sentiment of dissatisfaction among users.

I would highly recommend not using Affirm. I was never sent the item I purchased and that was in Dec I reached out to both parties to resolve it long story short Affirm will lead you on for months promising you a refund and will never give you your money back. I am now out of $222 and I have been in communication with them for six months and they refuse to help in anyway. Scam! Please take my advice and use Klarna or Afterpay this company is horrible! I wish there was a zero star!
I've used affirm for almost 10 years, And they've never failed me. I've made extra payments to them and my Purchasing level has gone up. Send automatic payments and they will always approve you. So don't believe all the negative reviews. If you make good payments and one time they will approve you for more.
I have used affirm 3-4 time and never had a issue, i always make the payment on time and the loans are paid off early.
Have excellent credit scores and credit history. Even used Affirm once. Recently applied for a purchase under $100. Said I did not provide all the information they asked for (untrue), and used this as a reason for denying my request. It is no wonder they have such a poor BBB rating and all of the bad reviews listed here. I will never attempt to use them again and will never recommend them to anyone else.
Overall a good company. I've purchased from MLB, Nike, Walmart and twice from Best Buy. Never denied... instantly approved
This is a scam. Ad came up in my facebook feed and placed an order more than a week ago. Money came out of my account but no follow-up. Called the helpline no answer.
I was working through the process of purchasing a sofa using Affirm as the payment option. Everything was going smoothly. I had to make a down payment on the loan which was fine. I linked my bank account, made the down payment, got the notification on my phone from my bank app that the payment was made. Then the Affirm window displayed an error saying that the session timed out and that the purchase could not be completed.
I received an email saying my loan was denied. I thought this was very strange because I was pre-approved, approved, made a down payment, then denied. Customer service emailed me back after a day and gave me what I call "politician" answers which is when someone answers your question by not answering you at all. I was in back and forth emails with them asking very simple questions. Why was I charged? Why did the order not go through? Was I approved or denied?
I needed to know this information because I needed to know how to proceed. Was my loan still good? Was I denied? Was it typical practice for them to charge a customer for a down payment then decide whether or not to approve them I was actually told I was both approved and denied! That's reassuring.
I was told it was my fault for not accepting the terms of the loan. Mind you, the first round of emails were "sorry, you were denied," then, "you were approved, then denied." Then, "you never hit 'accept' so it's your fault." I never had the opportunity to hit 'accept' because once I made the down payment, the web page said it timed out.
Now, I need to wait 7-10 business days to get a refund on my down payment which further delays the purchase I would like to make. I'm never using Affirm again and I caution those who choose to use their services. If their website fails on you during your transition, you will be made to think it was your fault somehow, you'll be charged a down payment, but your loan will be denied.
I had been approved for a boat cover for $300 and payed off on time, and with 740 credit rating they won't approve for next loan. Wanted a $600 tv from Walmart and they turned me down. And make me feel like bad credit risk.
I've used it to buy 3 items so far. Paid on off almost down with the second and just started on the third. Making early payment has been amazing and easy. I will not be going back to my credit cards!
It's so simple. You can create your own loan and use it wherever, or you can pick a store. Once you get approved, you can pick your own payment plan. If you want a lower monthly payment, then you will pay more in interest over time. You will always however, have the option of paying it off which will save you on interest. The more loans you have out, the lower each new request will be. I've used affirm a lot while rebuilding my credit. Anyone who says it's a scam, just doesn't understand what they're doing.
Idk how there are so many negative reviews but to each his own. I have taken out about 7 loans some that I paid off within the first month, others I have went the duration of the term. The loans really helped my credit history out as well as proved that I have a substantial amount of income to not miss a payment on all of my obligations. Long story short affirm helped me out big time by getting me over the hump and I have a beautiful 2019 AMG Mercedes sitting in my drive way that I just purchased in February 2021 with a great APR as well. If you treat affirm like a credit card and use it wisely it can help big time
Placed an order and returned it 2 weeks ago. Contacted Affirm via email who told me to contact the merchant. Contacted the merchant who told me affirm shouldn't have told me to contact them because the returns are immediate on their end. Then call affirms 855 number only to be disconnected after a recording tells me that if my money hasn't been returned in 45 days to reach a back out but continue making my payments in the meantime. Seriously? I have to continue to pay for something I returned to the store, cannot use and no longer have access too and then wait for 45 to try to reach a human being? This isn't free money. This is my money and I'm paying for something I returned and you can't even hire custom support reps to assist your customers? Never again will I ever use Affirm. It's a freaking nightmare.
If you ever have to return something, don't expect to get a refund from this company. They'll keep telling you the refund is coming but it never does. This company is a complete scam.
This company makes me sick to my stomach. They are going under and they have the audacity of advertising 0% APR. To whom will they give the 0%? I cannot believe a better company hasn't crushed them. If you see Affirm as a payment option, think long and hard about the purchase you are about to make. If you still are getting the item DO NOT USE AFFIRM a high 19-22% APR card will save you money compared to Affirms 29%.
This company leaves me warn out and frustrated everytime I have to deal with them. Their reps lie to you. Can't even pay my bill without a hassle, because the website never work for me. If I ever get through with them, never again will I use their services.
My payment only pay once a month but I didnt touch anyway. They took my account twice. I piss off! It cause my bank fee. Affirm system need to fix!
I purchased a pair of shoes from Nordstrom December 10. I received the shoes December 27 and returned them the next day. Affirm charged me a second time after the return. I was told they were processing my money back to my credit card. It is now January 27 and they are telling me up to 10 business days!
I will never use this service again.
I love affirm, shopping is so easy and you can buy anything. Things you thought you'd be unable to buy you really can buy them. I think it's a great help to me.
I have a good credit rating. I applied for financing through Affirm on the StockX website. I took pictures of my drivers license (front/back) and of myself as instructed. My finance request was denied. They stated they could not confirm who I was. I believe their method is flawed but after reading other comments, I'm glad I was denied financing through Affirm.
Do not sign up for their savings bank. The App is glitchy and no one can help you if anything goes wrong with your money. Stay away from the savings part of this company- complete novices and inept
Answer: On paper legit, sort of, but really a scam. They aren't even who you are financing with.
Answer: I had heard of the company because a friend actually knows the owner. Very sorry I did worst experience I have ever had.
Answer: It's not. They now also are charging large interest amounts. Don't use them.
