My mother had ADT and passed away. I sold her house and canceled the service by phone with ADT. They continue to send text and mail about late payments. I have spoke to them on the phone to make sure it was canceled and they said that it was. Guess what, the geniuses at ADT continue to mail and text about late payments. I have never dealt with a company so STUPID in my life. I am not sure if there customer service people are from another country or another planet. American companies need to bring customer service back to the USA. I pay in US dollars and expect service in the US.
Horrible company
Scammers. They lied and extended the contract themselves without my consent, withdrew money from my bank 4-5 times a month, and in different amounts that were not agreed upon! I had to block my automatic payment. They blatantly lied that they upgraded the system in the house when no one was home for 2.5 years, and I was in another state with my dying mother. My house was robbed twice, and the system did not work, the police fined me $ 50 for each false call. Blatantly lied that I signed a contract for another 5 years, and extended it themselves without my signature and consent. Several days on the phone 4-5 hours with ADT. I received bills for five years and fines without signing any agreements and contracts. It was a real mockery. If it were not for the help of my lawyer, I would not have been able to put an end to this lawlessness and mockery. AVOID THIS SCAM COMPANY
This company doesn't deserve a 1 rating. If I can choose 0, I would. After months of back and forth telling them that our cameras didn't work, we finally got a technician came out to repair or replace the cameras. The technician came and told us that we will need to reschedule for another week and half because he didn't have a camera nor a ladder to do the work. They knew that our cameras didn't work. Why the heck didn't they bring a camera to repair or replacement? When I called in to escalate the repair since we had waited for so long, the customer service couldn't find our address on file. Our address is 1234 FM 423 (not a real address). The customer rep asked whether the FM is correct? She never heard of a street name FM. She then proceeded to transfer us to another customer service representative who couldn't help us either. We asked to talk to a supervisor to escalate the repair. Wait on the phone some more time and the supposed supervisor came online. She said that we called the wrong department. This is absolutely ridiculous and then transferred us to another customer representative. We are still on the phone waiting for answer. It had been about an hour. Such a waste of my time. Avoid this company at all cost.
Besides the fact we have great WiFi the cameras work barely and the reps are rude AF and the lies are ridiculous! How in the hell does our bill go from $90 a month the past nine months to you sending a bill for $900 you're deranged and it damn sure won't get paid. If you live in Franklin, NC DO NOT USE ADT this is the worst security place I've ever used. The people do not want to do their jobs at all and then want to get rude. And its always one lie right after the other. So no I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend anyone to them with the way my family and I have been treated by them. I guess whatever they can do to rip you off they will but remember god don't like ugly and I pray this company gets shut down. So have the day every single one of you people at this adt here truly deserve!
ADT is the worst home security company. They can't be trusted. I am a disabled veteran and do not appreciate all the lies that ADT has been telling. They said they will send their technician to install equipment. When the tech came, he was in a adt vehicle wearing adt clothing. When I had an issue a fee weeks later, I was told that I had to pay for LVD Concepts Inc to come reconnect my back camera. I later found out that the tech from LVD Concepts was the one wearing adt clothing and driving an adt vehicle. I was totally unaware that another company was in my home. Please do your research and do not trust ADT. I am very disappointed in their lack of professional & dishonesty.
When I first called for information, the customer service rep said they could probably use my Vivint equipment, but they couldn't. It's proprietary. It was never possible. They lied.
I told the installer that I was also considering Brinks and he said Brinks uses ADT equipment and would send ADT out if I needed service. That was another lie. Brinks uses alarm.com equipment and they do not send ADT to service their accounts.
Then the installer kept increasing the amount of new equipment I would need to buy after he already started installing the system. I ended up paying about $600 for the installation of new equipment. Then the installer didn't explain the system or even leave a yard sign.
The second panel stopped working after a week. I had to use the virtual tech support person to get it back online. When it wasn't working, my external door wouldn't arm.
Then the panel stopped working again about two weeks later. I had only been a customer for a month! I called to explain that this is the second time the panel has stopped working since the April 11 installation. They wouldn't send a service tech. I had to use the virtual option or pay for a service call ($169). After I gave notice of cancelation, they offered to send someone, but by then, it was too late.
Then as I was having Brinks replace their crappy equipment with quality equipment, they didn't call to say the system was offline until 24 hours later! Anyone could have taken that system offline! I specifically didn't tell them in advance to see what their response would be. I was not surprised by their inaction.
I requested a full equipment refund with cancelation. When I tried to cancel, they said I'd have to pay a cancelation fee. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and they offered to waive the early termination fee of $335.98 but wouldn't let me return the equipment for a refund. Even they don't want their crappy equipment!
This is what you can expect as an ADT customer. Go with Brinks! The equipment is much higher quality.
LIARS! They coerced me into signing up for a system. The paperwork & propsal they showed me was a low monthly payment. The actual loan agreement was higher, but their sales team showed me multiple credits I was approved for and assured me my payments would never be higher. After the system was installed (which took over 4 months and included extensive damage to my property) I found out they never filed correct paperwork or finished the job in time, so both credits were delayed and therefore a higher amount WAS incurred. After a few phone calls, they finally admitted their mistake and assured me they would be covering the higher cost! After doing that for 2 months, they decided they just didn't want to anymore and told me I was on my own and anything they say in a phonecall they cant be held accountable for. They lied and lied again and took no responsibility. NEVER work with this company. They may seem like they have good customer service, but they literally lie about everything just to get the product installed and you paying more than you agreed to. Hope you have a lawyer ready if you deal with them, you'll need it.
I had a system installed in October - alarm and CCTV. Eleven home appointments later, it still is not fully fuctional. Their technical staff do not all know how the system works; and even if you tell them the nature of what is wrong when scheduling an appointment, the technician will show up and not know what the issue is, and as often as not, they don't have what they need to fix it or are not knowledgeable of the issue. Worse, they want to charge for each visit. It sems to me that you should not have to pay extra when they failed to install something correctly. Customer service is more of a theory with company. Trying to escalate complaints to someone higher in the chain does not work either.
This company is terrible they transfer you like 8 times before they solve your issue you buy the system and try to move you have to buy a new system and they charge you for a technician to come out and do it an if your on a payment plan they charge you for both I'm telling this company would be the worst mistake you ever made in your life.
Waited a year to get google camera for the front of house. Was told that the price was 293.00 (2 Apr 24) Then was sold a nest to go inside for 49.00. Really thought this was a win-win. Camera worked for 5 hours, then read low battery. Called and Tech came out found that the electrician never turned the switch on (23 Apr 24) So, the camera was placed on charge for 2 days, that's when the Tech came back. Hooked back up, worked great. Check account 95.00 (25 Apr 24) was drafted from account. Called Tech he said that he would take care of it. Check account (4 Apr 24) now pending 244.00. Called ADT they say that the Google nest is 850.00. Explained that I was not told this. They say someone will call you next week. The WORST...
I have ADT for many years,they never get problems with me. I paid Diirect.April 17 I chat with TeQuecia and ask for simple help-just letter for insurance.She was not professional and didn't tell when I will get this proof.But every week I got email from ADT to upgrade service. It's meant more money,I'm not sure about service.I'm retired old may and with low SS.But looking like ADT will put me out. Thanks with respect Anatoliy Zeldin.Till today I did not receive a letter from ADT for insurance, but again got email to upgrade service.
Horrible company. They don't call you back to help like they should and let you get past the 1 month period for refund. Then you're locked in to owing them thousands of dollars. I wasted hours on the phone trying to get my system set up. Never using adt again
I purchased ADT and from day 1 started having problems. I called about 2 times during the 6 months period to cancel my contract unfortunately I kept giving them another chance
Boy do I regret that. The alarm went off a few days ago. I was in my room. When I asked my husband what is that whistling sound he said, that's the alarm. I said your kidding. I've had problems with camara settings on the home app. Once all my camaras got disconnected to my wifi and they did not send anyone they made me get on a high latter and fix them all myself. It was horrible especially for a person who has back problems. I could go on and on but the bottom line is I DO NOT RECOMEND ADT AT ALL. You may have more problems then before while paying monthly service bills. Watch out and don't don't get caught up with more problems than you already have. Terrible service.
The customer service representatives are absolutely terrible. They are unprofessional and incompetent. I've been a customer for 3 years and the two times that I've called for assistance I have waited on hold for almost an hour for the rep to be completely unhelpful, incompetent, rude and unprofessional. Both times my calls were miraculously ended without a returned call from ADT. Needless to say, my issue has not been resolved and I will need to spend additional time on hold in hopes to speak with someone who can actually assist. I am saddened I extended my contract but it was prior to having these experiences and disappointed I will have to continue with such an incompetent company until my contract is complete.
I had to have ADT come out on 5 separate occassions to look at my system. The system would not record and the ring door stop working. After the 5th time, I wanted to cancel my service. (Seems easy enough. If your equipment is not working as promised iI should be able to cancel) They told me, i would need to pay $2,700 the cost of the equipment that did not work, to get out of my contract. Beware of this company and i will NEVER use their system. I have already had 5 members of my family and friends cancel their service.
They put the cameras in my home yet they want to charge me 59 bucks to come out and see where my cameras are, that they installed, so they can assess how much they are going to charge me, depending on where my cameras are, what the f***? Shouldn't they know when my cameras are, they put them up. ADT use to be the best then they sold to brinks then they came back and bought their self back from brinks brinks was a piece of s*** and ADT is still a piece of s***. They're not the number one they just sell more because they're the biggest but they are also the worst in customer care, price and just satisfaction. Their systems are antiquated and old. They charge $36 for a battery that you can get at a battery store for 12 or 14 bucks. They are hot mess I can't wait to get rid of them and anyone who asked me how I like them I tell them they are a piece of s*** because they are. This would be no stars but of course you know that's not allowed. Totally dissatisfied with their service.
BEWARE! Please choose another company PLEASE! I wish I could give these cons a 0 star. They are really that bad, honestly. I was told I could transfer the contract to the new owner, in the event I sold the home. Well that's not the truth. Today, I mentioned I was selling the home. I was told I owed $1500 on the remainder of contract and $500 on equipment. I don't recall signing a 3 year contract, yet to have me pay for services I am not receiving is robbery. I then asked if I could transfer the services to the new owner since I'm being forced to pay $1500 for services I am not going to be receiving. I was told NO, the transfer can only take place in the case of a dead spouse! So, basically they are wanting the new owners to sign a new 3 year contact. This should be outlawed. I am planning to warn the new owners about ADT and recommend that they use another company. These people are unscrupulous cons. I will NEVER EVER use them again, mark my word.
I'm writing this review after a one year benign ADT customer, ADT is worst security service that you ever get, never 👎🏻 ever go with ADT for any reason they charge you for everything and every minute, you are going to pay half of your salary to them for no reason, customer service is worst, technical support is bad, technicians are not on time, they charge you almost for everything even with bad service, on top of it they have a cancellation policy the worst cancellation policy ever, 75% of remaining payment that's really a nightmare,
I suggest no ADT at all, Pls save your time and money with other companies.
3/8/2024 update:
The saga continues. The boilerplate response appeared after my review, offering me to email their "always there" address. I did. They suggested setting up a "virtual tech appointment," to which I agreed. The appointment was set for noon on Friday, but no one called (so much for 'always there'), which is very rude and careless in my books.
Then, around 2:20 PM, the tech finally called. I had to explain what I needed three times (I'm not exaggerating), and after being put on hold for multiple 20 to 30 minute intervals, I was told that NONE of my existing Google/Nest devices would work with ADT+, and to make it work, I would have to shell out $460 + tax. When I asked for any sort of deal, they basically inflated the prices only to then offer me a "discount."
Summary:
- The sales rep lied through his teeth.
- The service people lied about the appointment time.
- The "manager" who tried to give me a "discount" also lied about the prices. And, finally:
- None of the existing Google/Nest equipment works with ADT+; oh, and they don't support any smart locks.
Would you consider doing business with this company? Right, neither did I. What a shame. A total disgrace.
TERRIBLE COMPANY. Avoid them if at all possible. Been paying monthly since 2018. ADT System malfunctioning in three locations at our business. Called Customer Service and they wanted me to spend a half day testing, pulling batteries and reinstalling the sysetm myself. Finally asked for a serviced tech and they charged $59 plus repair costs.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
Answer: Don't go with ADT, the worst company I've ever dealt with.
Answer: This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, the lies never stop.
