Adt system wasn't working. Adt was going to send tech and reinstate account. Tech came out. Entire time thought they were just fixing the issue. Was misled to open a new contract that resulted in me receiving a collection notice for equipment. (That's when I learned I had a second account). Called ADT numerous times, was led that it would be corrected have names and confirmation numbers. Spent over 10 hrs on the phone over a couple months with them. After seeing that it wasn't getting resolved. I asked to cancel service and I would pay equipment charges. I was told I would be charged for ending contract that I was misled to open a couple months prior when I thought there was just one account that was opened 9 yrs ago. Unethical business practice to look like a new sale that led to me spending a large amount at one time after being told it would be fixed each time I called them. Either way I was out and they had taken a large amount of time and money from a client of theirs going on 9
My Wi-Fi went out after it was repaired I was told that there would be a charge to come out and re attach my cameras. Pretty poor customer service.
I signed up for one year, somehow the company has a contract that says five years and I tried to cancel after year one.no go...after year two...they want me to pay 1600. For their equipment which I have been paying monthly for two years. Plus it takes a month to schedule a technician for a problem...and they have never once responded to any kind of alarm! Then they threatened me with this binding contract I supposedly signed...but they never did. FRAUD!
I bought a syatem and installation was good but I didn't know the tech took the garage camera off the original order. When I followed up I was told the bill was reduced 100.00. They were happy to come back out to install the garage camera for 450. Which included another install charge of 99.00. This is price gouging they don't have an item so they do a new work order so they can charge another install fee and then charge 2 to 4 times the amount.
They are doing it to me again at a second home. Again the tech doesn't have the equipment so it comes off the work order and then if you want it are told you have to pay another install fee of 99. So you as a customer is being charged an extra install fee because apparently the techs that do the installation do not have the equipment. HEY ADT YOU ARE TAKING ADAVANTAGE OF YOUR CUSTOMER. TRY AND PRACTICE CORPORATE RESPONSIBLITY!
HI ALL YOU CAN CONTACT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF YOUR STATE TO LET THE ATTORNEY TO MAKE THEM AWARE OF THE BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE AND HOW THEY ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WANTING TO FEEL SAFE!
We signed up for ADT and have had nothing but issues and problems from doorbell not working and representatives getting overly friendly with my wife, and so inconsistent with their so called promises of free equipment and having things fixed properly which hasn't happened.
If you're thinking about getting security in your home avoid ADT at all costs.
This company Is a joke, no wonder there's a class action lawsuit against them.
First they try to get you to buy everything. Get only what you need. It is a very good system until you have a problem. My cameras lost connection and one person finally said they would fix free. Tech came and wanted $58 for call and $169 for first half hour. I said no. So I've been paying like $75 for over a year for non working cameras. ADT is a rip off. Laws against ripping off elderly, getting lawyer
I was told they would come and connect cameras after I got a new internet router. When tech got here he wanted $59 plus $169 for half hour. I sent him on is way. Very pour customer service
Absolutely pathetic service! Get bounced from one department to another and none of them can help!
Needed to extend my ADT alarm system to another part of my home. I called ADT and made a booking for Engineer to install both a contact switch and a sensor as my system is connected to the police.
Engineer failed to turn up first time and didn't call. I stayed in all day! Made a second appointment, again engineer didn't turn up nor called. I made a third appointment, engineer's job sheet only had the sensor down and not the contact so he couldn't install!
Called today and was told to wait for delivery of the parts and then call back ADT to let them know when it arrives so an engineer can be booked to come out! I don't know why the engineer can't just bring these to standard parts out with them!
I will look to move my business to Verisure after 10 years with ADT!
I have had ADT for 1 plus years. The sales person told me I had a 1 years contract. It turned into a 4 year contract. I have had to call 3 to 4 times to fix my out door camera. If you forget your verbal password, you won't get a password reset for 5 to 10 business days of NO SERVICE. Do not choose them. It is a scam. By the way, don't let them tell you there will be a service charge on their equipment.
After several problems with cameras and power supplies they finally sent out a tech to repair the non viewing issue. The tech repaired the power supply after waiting a long time for the part. However he made no attempt to replace the non working cameras. The system went down again and after spending hours on the phone I'm told that I'm not authorized on the account. I have the password and I set up the account, I'm the only person on the account. Now they want me to prove I own the company. Meanwhile I have to coverage and I have to provide proof of ownership before they will cancel my contract. FU ADT! I'm just cancelling payment thru my credit card company. Bye Bye, never to return
I am a government employee who worked at the Annual Syracuse fair ADT indicated I won a free security system for my home which never happened. Just a public warning announcement BEWARE.
We bought a house that came with an alarm system already installed and the old owners are still on the account and we've been trying to deactivate the system as the fire department has showed up to our door twice due to false smoke detector alarms. I have called multiple times and they tell me I am not on the contract and there is nothing that can be done, although we now own the system as it came with the house we have purchased and lived in for over a month. Initially, we had asked ADT to come out and link the current system to us as we OBVIOUSLY wanted to continue to use the existing equipment (2 cameras, alarms on all 4 doors and all 11 windows, smoke detectors and doorbell and keypad doorknobs also connected to the system) and when they got here we were told the equipment is "obsolete" and can't be reused and new equipment to replace what was already here would cost 10K… LIES, they just want to make money. In addition to all the frustration, the technician ended up braking the existing panel when he removed it, we told him to put panel back after he told us everything needed replacement, we told him we wouldn't be using ADT, we now have a brand new touch screen panel that is broken and has tape on it thanks to the incompetent technician, an alarm system that is still activated with the old owners who do not know what is going on, fire department coming out for false alarms, cameras outside and inside the house that can be accessed by strangers (huge privacy violation) and what are we being told? Nothing can be done about it. They are liars and scammers and it is beyond comprehension how on Earth this company is still in business! How are they not being sued for so much dishonesty by the vast majority of their customers?
At this point we are so infuriated that this is exactly what we want to do- hire a lawyer and sue them!
From the very beginning…ADT Non Security was. NIGHTMARE😵💫 based on the below:
-consistently inconsistent monitoring of my home
-malfunctioning equipment even after having new equipment sent out
-failure to send out a tech to the home (ADT Blue)
-incompetent techs that consistently transfer you from one person to another
-police showing up at my door while working the night shift yet ADT has NO record of the alarm going off
-techs and supervisors hang up in the midst of conversation and NEVER returning your call for assistance and a plea to discontinue the DIS service of ADT
-district managers NOT wanting to get involved in assisting w disputes
-technicians quitting based on the way ADT treats their customers
-being kept on the phone consistently for greater than 1.5 hours
My advice: select another customer friendly security service that value their customers and the system actually works!
First of all, if the previous homeowner had ADT, expect to be physically bombarded by a sales rep. The moment you move in. The guy was so pushy and insisted on "doing a walk through" even though my sister told him numerous times no (my husband and I were out at the moment and my sister was helping us move). She was the only one there and didn't feel comfortable letting someone waltz around the house. He came back as we were continuing to move stuff in and through our exhaustion of the day somehow convinced us into thinking it would be a good idea to sign up for a 3 YEAR CONTRACT. Second of all, if something malfunctions, or is not working, just expect them to tell you to fix it yourself, or else they can send someone out to help for a significant fee. Our camera stopped working months ago and our motion detection malfunctioned so I'm not even sure why we pay a monthly fee when nothing works. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of ADT. So much for feeling "protected".
This company lied about their money back guarantee. They promised a deal with app access. It's been 2 months with no app access (they want to charge more) and two technicians have came. When I asked to speak to the manager to cancel she lied and said I only have one technician visit scheduled. When I offered to show proof of the emails and text she refused to look at it and said, "I am going by my system." She wanted to charge $700 to cancel. This is the most unprofessional company I've ever experienced in my life. Please take caution when joining ADT. They will scam you
…is easier at home or work than cancelling service. I had to listen to the spiel for staying with ADT. I tried to get to the point having made my mind up and was informed they had to give me the information before I could cancel! I'll never use ADT again just on the basis it is extremely difficult to end your service.
I've been on the phone with these people all morning for 2 hours! I kept getting switched to a new person every call and it seemed like nobody wanted to help me. There very unorganized and not professional at all! I willNEVER GO BACK TO ADT! I DO NOT RECOMMEND
They just wanna your money

I cancelled my policy on 12/30/23 and they still billed me!
You can nit get a hold of a human being. It takes 5-10 minutes. What if you had a burglary or a fire?

I signed the contract with ADT on November 29 with the intent to purchase a good service, a piece of mind of security for my family, not this: the tech threw the pad on my kitchen counter top and left it there. Never use it since, an agent from ADT called me yesterday and told me the service is there and use it?
ADT schedule a tech to come out and secure the display, twice I have to sit around and wait, no show no call. If the tech can not make the appointment, at least to have the courtesy to call me and let me know, so I don't have to waste my time. I am a working man, don't have time to sit around and wait.
I email ADT to cancel the contract, the reason because ADT didn't full fill the contract, not provide me the service, the security that I should have, and they charged me $99 deposit, $51.47 the first month for this so call "service".
ADT agent told me I have to pay penalty to cancel the contract?
Pay money monthly for nothing?
Is this the kind of contract I should have?
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
Answer: Don't go with ADT, the worst company I've ever dealt with.
