We dropped our landline and about a month later we got a "phone system failure" notification on our system panel. After calling ADT tech support, we were told when talking to their rep that the line number has been changed to a cell number and that everything was now ok. A month later we got the same message on the control panel. THis time tech rep checked the system and told us he is getting the same signal. He would have their advanced tech dept call us and gave us a time--the call never came. So on our next try, they said they would send out a tech rep to check our system. He never came. On calling again, they gave us a new time spot and a sales rep came, told us our system was obsolete (they never upgraded the system when we purchased the service),and told us the upgraded system would only cost $2200 (after discounts) and $70/month.
We continue to get billed even tho I cancelled auto payment, I think. I tried to call and cancel the service and after being transferred several times the computer told me there would be an 81 minute wait. I tried to get ane,mail address I could send an official cancellation notice too but no one could give such an address,
I have been an ADT customer for over five years. I would never recommend them. We had a CO sensor fail at 5 am one morning. First ADT said they would send me a replacement sensor, then said they had to send someone to replace it. Then this service call would cost $60, the technician said that it would be an additional $100 for a replacement for the failed sensor. AT least six representatives told me that the charge would be removed but it was posted. An account manager told me that only an account manager can remove a charge, and to speak with one of these seems to always include at least 30 minutes on hold. We started looking for replacement options and discovered that we pay almost $30 per month for monitoring than new ADT customers and three times what ADT's competitors charge. What a rip-off.

Do not expect to get help with customer service. They will either put you on hold or hang up on you just to not deal with the problem. Spoke with a lady and she was extremely rude, impatient, and just hung up on me after waiting on the line for almost 40 min. Waste of time and money.
ADT is slow to even tell you your alar is not working. The technician stated I needed a new system. I have not heard anything about the date this will happen. When I call they want me to be the technician. So I am in this stupid cycle. But they want me to purchase a new system. While my alarm system and cameras never worked right from the beginning. So buyer beware, they will even sell you a replacement battery.
My "technician" finished his install at 10pm.The system hasn't worked right for several months.The customer service line is a joke.Now I'm being charged a huge cancellation fee.Spend a little extra up front& get a local company to do it.
Worst company I have ever worked with from their equipment to their customer service. It has been nothing but a giant head ache the entire time we've been customers.
First of all they rope you into a 3-year contract which is ridiculous to begin with and you're not allowed to cancel that contract unless you buy out all the months you have left. Second of all your cameras are only under warranty for 6 months so if for some random reason beyond that in the 2 and 1/2 years you have left on your contract your cameras stop working by no fault of your own you've got to pay them between $60 and $80 to get a technician out to your house to fix your cameras that you didn't do anything to make stop working in the first place. They charge you $64 a month when Ring is only $10 or $11 a month. Signing up with ADT is one of the biggest mistakes I've made in the last couple of years. I would do anything to end my contract with them and not give them another penny of my money. Every time I call them, the hold time is an hour or more. And that only gets me to an initial rep who can't help me who has to transfer me to another rep who actually has the authority to do what I need done. I just had a conversation with an ADT rep over their online chat system and he said "just give me one moment" while he was supposedly passing me on to the loyalty team or so he claimed but what he really did was disconnect the chat so I could not message him any further and didn't help me at all after wasting nearly 30 minutes of my time when I started out the conversation making it clear I needed to speak to someone beyond his authority level. This company is a complete and total scam. Do not sign a contract with them. Do not put their equipment in your home. You will regret it.
Every time I call I'm put on hold for long periods of time, i'm transferred then hung up on. It takes days to get assitance by phone with issues. I wish I never chose this company for service. Oh, but if you are a new customer they answer you calls super fast. Such a dissappointment and would never suggest this company. Save your money with a product like blink.
ADT is a joke the worst customer service I have ever seen! They clam to have a life time warranty on equipment but when it goes down you cant get anyone to help. I am going to tell ALL my friends and family TO NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. On hold for 45min with the rudes customer service
We bought a doorbell from my mother she's a 100 years old for the camera for security the doorbell broke the battery went low about over a month ago we were never told we had to charge the battery or anything we ran around to find the battery charger finally got that at walnart...adt sends a video to A 100 year old woman my brother's 75 they would not come to the house with still waiting for them to come out to the house to fix the doorbell the doorbell's been broken almost 2 months now They just gave us an appointment for January 3rd I would not recommend ADT at all
ADT installed a system in a house I was renting 15 months ago. It was understood with the sales rep that I was building another home and would only need the system for the year. The owners of the rental did not want ADT. I found out today when I went to cancel the service that they installed a $2000 system and I was paying for it and still owe them $750 for a system which I cannot transfer and will not be using. Further they say they have an electronic signature from me agreeing to buy this system and pay for it for years to come. I never saw or read such a contract.
I was lied to, misrepresented and treated horribly. I've been an ADT customer for 22 years. They will not negotiate with me unless I tell them I agreed to this egregious deal that has absolutely NO benefit to me.
Now they are referring it to their legal team. Also, this system has not been working properly for the last year and I have called them about it. I've paid over $500 this year for their system that doesn't even work. If you have a suggestion on how to deal with them please advise. After being their customer for 22 years, I was treated like garbage and I would never trust them again.
I had Ackerman for 14 years and unfortunately they were acquired by ADT few moths ago, they increased what supposed to be guaranteed rate. I had no contract with ADT and my contract was fulfilled with Ackerman since I paid upfront for all my equipment years ago. I called ADT to cancel my service due to their horrible experience with their sales team to upgrade my system but fours weeks later no one got back to me! So I decided to go with different provider, they send me a bill for $851 claiming that my contract expires un 2024! I told the agent show me where I signed and accepted any terms! She told me that what you owed and have a good day and she hanged up!
ATT guy showed up saying if we get ADT our ATT bill will be lower. ATT does not work with ADT. This is total fraud. We called ATT they confirmed. We are requesting all our monies be returned and cancel this contract. ADT is frauding customers. Do not trust them.
Any issues with your service and you are on your own. You can never get anyone who speaks English that is easily understood to answer the phone. The wait time is ridiculously long, they will not come out unless you pay them, no matter the issue. There is no customer service just customer ripoff. Go with a locally owned company that actually cares. This hugh commercialized company is all about how much money they can get out of you upon installation, then you can forget calling someone with a question and getting any help within a short period of time. How can the wait time be 47 minutes all day long each time I called. Days later and still no resolution to my problem. Run!
This company has a horrible customer service and has nothing but lied to me from day 1. I will continue to discourage everyone from coming here. I have been charged things that I have never agreed to.
Camera never works, I had to sign a contract for 3 years with them and my time is about up. I cannot wait to tell them I am done! My camera did not work since Halloween when I had to get a new router for my wifi. Because of this the Wifi password changed and my camera couldn't connect. They came to fix it and charged me a trip charge of $59 that no one mentioned at all and $139 for labor, to reset the camera pw! Apparently it is not possible to change your own pw yourself. Then mysteriously 3 days later the camera would not connect at all. Walked through customer service call to no avail, walked through a tech call to no avail and then they said they had to send someone out. I told them someone was just at my house and charged me almost $200 to reset a pw. They assured me there would be no charge for this second trip. And guess what, the tech came, fixed the camera and left. Looked at my credit card a few days later and there was another $59 trip charge. The equipment is crap, and they nickel and dime you for not much service as near as I can tell. I have read a lot of reviews and it seems ADT used to be decent 3-5 years ago but something has definitely changed! Save your money and go with Vivint for security and Ring for cameras, even Amazon sells some pretty decent cameras for less than $100.
The worst customer service in the world. I have been with this company together over twenty years. I have been trying to get my password for two days. I was yelling at hung up on the phone. They care less about helping their customers. The representative has no patience to help the customer. I am now looking for another company for security. I would give them a zero but no star for that score.ADT
After four phone calls that didn't resolve our issue, we requested a technician appointment. In spite of being under a maintenance contract, we were told that we would have to pay $53 for the technician visit in order to get their unreliable equipment working properly. We thought Xfinity, our previous provider, was bad. This takes the cake to be charged for fixing ADT provided equipment that doesn't work. NEVER ADT AGAIN.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
Answer: Don't go with ADT, the worst company I've ever dealt with.
