I have a problem with my ADT monitoring service, so I called no one responded instead the automated,machine to give a choice to wait for a phone call within 36 minutes, I waited two hours no one called back. Awful service.
ADT is a joke and I hope the company goes out of business. They make you conduct all account operations over the phone and getting anything done means jumping through a series of unnecessary hoops. They're fine print contracts mean that if you sign it, you're on the hook for the entire contract no matter how circumstances change. It's simply a bad way to do business and terrible for the consumer. When there are so many options out there like Ring, Simplisafe, and Nest, using a service like ADT is worthless. At least when I move, I can take those products with me and don't have to cancel service.
I have had the worst experience with ADT. The sales rep lied to me about the services provided in the contract. I can't cancel it without a $700 termination fee even though the services were not provided. The technician did not show up for 3 appointments. When he finally did show up he said the sales rep told you incorrect information and we do not support the services needed. In order to try and resolve this I was online and on the phone for over 4 hours with no resolution. Then I found out that someone in their office signed the contract and misspelled my name. So illegal practice as well. If you want a horrible experience and absolutely terrible support services then ADT might be for you. I would recommend avoiding them at all costs.
Worst company. Doorbell hasn't worked properly since I started the contract. I can't cancel because it's a 3 year contract. I spent countless hours on the phone with them to fix the problem and it was never fixed. Stay away from them if you don't want to waste your time and money.
No help, no customer service, no any service. They should be banned from the market. Very bad. Don't waste your money and time on this company. You will be disappointed. The positve feedback is probably from paid individuals and employees. They even faked my signature on the service receipt. My accound is locked out, no help to get it restored. What a scam and fraudulent company.
They constantly try to charge more (or do charge you more) for services that are already included in your plan. It's a very gimicky bait and switch company. Has cost me many hours and dollars unnecessarily.
I have been an ADT customer for more than 2 years and having such customer service is huge let down. Background: I have service plan added to my account for no cost where ADT will not charge my account for tech visit. I was given a word by account manager that the tech visit will be of no charge on my account. Issue: I have recently started receiving sensor errors and unpleasant beeps. I called customer service to help me troubleshoot. They tried but they were not successful so I requested for technician visit to resolve and troubleshoot the issue. The rep said it will a charge for the tech visit. I mentioned about the service plan and ADT account manager gave me a word on no charge tech visit. But ADT was not honoring their word and they said it will be $59 visit fee. Keeping the original issue of sensor error and unpleasant beeps I spent more than 5 hours to explain about the service plan and no tech visit fee. Both the issues are still not resolved. I feel I am cheated by ADT and I am super disappointed with ADT. Lesson learned: what you agree on please have it in writing from ADT rep. Do not rely on their word. They will say anything to make a sale.
ADT Customer Relation department is also of no help. They keep on repeating the same thing over and over again like a parrot. Time to look for other security monitoring systems.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ADT. I WOULD RECOMMEND TO PAY FEW EXTRA BUCKS MONTHLY AND GET A BETTER SECURITY MONITORING SYSTEM.
Horrible customer service on the phone. Get transferred here and there, nobody can figure out my account. Waiting for a resolution for FOREVER! They sent me to collections even though I have proof that I made the payments. Wasting my time on the phone with this company, have been on the phone on and off with them over 3 hours to figure out this simple situation. Once my contract is up I will never go back. Horrible.
I have finally switched out of ADT after 9 dreadful years of service. I don't know why I waited so long.
Probably because anytime I've called to cancel, there has been, at least, a 90-minute wait. Well, I finally did get through and terminated ADT. I am furious to learn that they have a 30 day termination notice policy. How they could have the nerve to ask be if I would reconsider tells me just how clueless they are.
All I can is I'm happy I'm done with them and I truly wouldn't recommend using them.

It began when I was told I would not be put in a contract, but I have had to deal with this madness from ADT for 3 years. The cameras will catch a car coming past it would even catch trees moving but it will not catch a person taking something out of your yard. I have had over 9 technicians to come out to fix problems with their system. No matter how many complaints you give they will never let you out of the contract they will only try to offer you more things. Seriously this is no joke I would rather stay in a high crime area with no alarm system than to continue to deal with ADT.
Was on hold for over 2-Hours, horrible customer service. Do Not go with them. Tried to brake my contract due to horrible customer service & they wanted to charge me for the rest of my service, might as well keep ADT. DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM
Ive literally soent 13+ hours calling ADT because billing and automatic charges are wrong. ADT can not be trusted. Everyone in billing will tell you a different amount due and different date your contract expires
Unfortunately ADT is an EXPENSIVE, UNPROFESSIONAL, NOT-TO-BE-TRUSTED outfit!
Their procedures are complex, convoluted and inefficient. To boot it took me repeated attempts to access my account since they couldn't identify my password. What kind of "security" company is this? How can we trust them the safety of our home and assets? Their dominant "fortress mentality" also makes it impossible to reach a live decision maker to cancel my membership and ask them to come and collect their hardware. It is a most frustrating experience, leaving the impression they are desperately hanging on to dissatisfied clients, possibly due to financial troubles. STAY AWAY!
Out of business? No customer service. Called 36 times spent over 10 hours in 3 weeks still couldn't Get a Technichian come to fix sensor problems that cause alarm went off in the middle of nights sometimes and disrupted daily life. ADT has no protection but disturbing system at this point. I screen shot and saved last few times my calling records.
If I could give zero stars I would. You will be on hold for hours with different phone numbers that go to the same place, no one will respond, and if they do, you still have to contact another person. Do NOT sign up for a long term contract! Sensors will fail and you have to pay to have someone come fix them on top of what you already pay, and if you cancel before the contract is done, fork over your money. NOT worth the headache and automated bots and holds.
I signed up for ADT five months ago and then sold my house. Because of a five-year contract, which was never explained to me by the sales agent, the company is now stating I owe them $2,500 in order to close the service...in a house I no longer live in. They stated the equipment charge is $700, which I could understand paying for, but what is the remaining balance for? They charge you an absurd amount without anything to show for it. When speaking to customer service for over an hour, and learning they WILL NOT transfer you to a manager OR help out in any way, the only option I had was to change to a different service. It was never explained to me within that hour WHY I was being charged the $2,500. The agent only stated that it was for the 'monitoring' charge...but if there is no service, who is monitoring? Basically, the charge is a gigantic SCREW YOU to any customer foolish enough to sign up for ADT. Anyone, please, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH ADT!
Horrible customer service. I called with a complaint about my bill and the agent kept putting me on hold. I timed them, and each hold time was at least 5 min. Very rude individuals! The first call I got a dial tone after waiting 10 min for him to return. I keep asking for someone in charge, but all I get is put on hold. I need an issue resolved. Since no one is in charge, what do I do?
FIRST THEY LIED, THEY NEVER PROVIDED THE CORRECT EQUIPMENT, THEY NEVER PROVIDED AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTIONS, THE HOLD TIME WAS OVER 42 MIN, NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY WERE DOING, EVERY TIME I CALLED THEY WOULD XFER ME TO ANOTHER IDIOT AND I WOULD HAVE TO START OVER AGAIN... AWFUL!
Stay far far away from ADT! Unless you know with absolute certainty that you will not move during your contact period with ADT DO NOT get their service. ADTs relocation department is a scam! They spew lie after lie and then you're forced to spend hours on hold them hours arguing with other departments for their mistakes. I KNEW this would happen and told the jerk at the relocation center it would. Now I have to spend hours to reverse a $1200 cancellation charge for a cancellation I didn't want simply because they said it wasn't possible to transfer service to the new address! ADT SUCKS AND YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
They lied to me and said I would be able to cancel service if I needed to. That is the only reason I went with ADT. I was never told I would be in a 3 year contract. The man who did the installation was new and didn't know what he was doing. He never informed me of the length of the contract and I just had to sign electronically on his phone. He didn't finish the installation that day and said he would return and then never did. It took a month and me calling for them to send someone out to finish the installation. I was charged for the month of service even though the installation wasn't finished and I was unable to use the service. I called and asked them to credit me for the month, they lied and said they would, and then never did. They make you wait on hold for ridiculous amounts of time, sometimes hours before ever speaking to a person. They will transfer you over and over and over again in the hopes you'll just hang up. I spent hours explaining the situation just for them to send me a fraud form that is not applicable to my situation. I removed my credit card from my account and they still charge it without being authorized to do so. They will lie to you and steal from you. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
