Running out of contacts on the road. Called them and went over in details to replenish. Nothing showed up and when I called them they clearly had no idea what they were doing.

If I'd know this I would have just gone to my doctor myself to pick them up tomorrow but wanted to try ordering online. I only had the boxes for my contact with the prescription on them not my actual prescription. I find it extremely wrong to hold money on my account before verifying my prescription and putting the order through.
I never seem to have a smooth transaction with 1-800 contacts. I am inundated with emails telling me " my contacts are waiting for me". Baloney! ALWAYS back ordered then I call or text about my order I get three different answers as to when I can expect them. Seamless ordering through another lens provider. Cheaper easier and quicker. Bye bye 1-800 Contacts!
Placed an order for contacts. Then noticed a second charge for contacts. With a $10 difference. I emailed to have 1 order canceled, several hours later, I finally got a response. We can't cancel, they've already shipped. Called and got the same story. Now I won't get my $260 back until I return the second order to them. I only ever wanted the one order. That's all I ordered. Now I have to wait to get my money back. Completely ridiculous
HORRIBLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL I HAVE NEVER BEEN LIED TO MORE THAN REPS FROM 800 CONTACT THEY ARE ALL MORMON AS THEY CLAIM AND WITH A SUPPOSED CHRISTIAN APPROACH IN THIS CULT THEY ARE ANYTHING BUT EVIL DISHONOEST LILE COVERE UP RUDE DEMENAING AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED THE ODDEST CULT AND I HAVE ONLY HEARD OF CULTS EACH TIME I ORDER CONTARCTS IT IS YET ANOTHER LIE ANOTHER TRAVESTY THIS LAST SESSIONI TOOK THE DEAL OFF OF THE TABLE BASED UPON PRINCIPAL AND BEING A PROUD CITIZEN OF THE USA I WILL NEVER BE HARMED BY THE DECEPTIVE AND RUDE TACTICS OF THIS COMPANY HOW DARE THEY AND HOW THEY DEGRADE WOMEN
They lost my order about 5 times and even lost my prescription this is so unprofessional I'll never use them again!
The employees are such salespeople and it's all about sales for them. It depends who you speak to: some will give free overnight shipping, others will not. Some will give a great price, others will not. You feel like you are going to a used car lot, it's so much work unless you just want to be overcharged with their prices. They overprice unless you find a discount elsewhere and then they price match so you are wheeling & dealing just to order contact lenses, it takes forever. And this last person told me I can't get prices off of Google because they are too cheap; I have to search in incognito mode (for the higher prices) yet one month ago I ordered and they price-matched off of Google. Again, it just depends which agent you get and which are willing to give up some of their commission to give you a better deal. Occasionally, I have gotten really excellent agents, but it's the luck of the draw. I usually run out of time and then call them, but I do not recommend them. I'm going to start ordering from elsewhere because I always feel slimed by them; their policies should be consistent but they aren't.
The first time I ordered from 1800contacts and it went smoothly. Easily a 5/5 stars. The second time, and most likely my last time, the exact opposite. On May 4,2021, with a prescription for a different brand of contacts, I decided to exchange some of my left over contacts from my previous order and put in an order for my new contacts. Contacted customer service and the gentleman promptly checked my previous order, made some calculations and informed me the difference in cost. I agreed to it and the new order was place. I wasn't informed that part of the new cost was for shipping ( $19.99) but that's an issue for another time. After about two weeks, I hadn't received anything in the mail nor an email updating me of where my contacts were. Checked my account and order had not shipped yet. Opened a chat window, spoke to a very nice customer service rep who found out my contacts were backordered and expected ETA would be 4-6 weeks. I was fine with that. June passes. July passes. Come August and I still had not received delivery of my contacts. I checked my email in case there was an email with an updated status but all I found was plenty of emails telling me my "prescription is on file" and "Reminder, it's time for more contacts". On August 10, I again opened a chat window and spoke to a nice customer service rep. She informed me that my items were still on backorder but it was too late in the day to find out the expected window for them to receive more. She said she would contact me the next day with more details. She was true to her word and emailed me on August 11, letting me know that it's expected in 4-6 weeks but that time frame could not be guaranteed. I finally received my order on Friday, 10/1/2021. For a company, who's motto is about customer service, it's disappointing, to say the least, that the company didn't have the decency to inform customers when the items they ordered is backordered. Ordered in May, received in October. I can understand items being backordered but is it really that difficult to let customers know? After this experience with them, I question if I will ever support them again. I decided to give a rating of 2 stars because the chat personnel was nice and helpful.
This company charge my account without my authorization for $303.92 and mess up my credit card, so I advise customers with this company activity I'm very upset and I don't want to do business anymore with this fraudulent company in my life
1800 contacts is a very poorly run business. I have had nothing but issues everytime I try to use them. I updated my prescription and they still would cancel my orders saying it was not updated regardless of it working prior. Then when they cancel orders the always have issues getting emails sent out to you. I waited two weeks for contacts to find that they were never sent because of this issue and not a single person contacted me. Then when I overnight them they still have issues and never take responsibility. The price difference is not much. I would always order directly through your provider. Will never order from them again.
At first glance great pricing and convenience applying my eyemed allowance. But... the 25% off can't be applied if I used my $100 insurance but of course it was left up to me to notice that on my e mail receipt - they weren't going to tell me that now they were MORE expensive than anyone else! Should have stuck with "the king" as they are fair honest and have great Customer Service
I ordered a 6 month supply of contacts from 1800 contacts, noting the website clearly indicates my contacts as well as my Rx were in stock and ready to ship same day. I ordered paid and received a notification about 30min later my contacts would be shipped same day. I paid the extra $20.00 to get them next day. 5 days later having not received them I called and was told the contacts were 'out of stock' and 1-800 would receive them in 5-7 days. That came and went, I contacted them again, I was informed they were on back order and it would now be the 25th before they would be available. I informed 1-800 I would be out of town, and needed them before I left, they're response was, 'we can mail them to you'. 1-800 was unable to get the contacts to my home address, and I'm supposed to trust they'll make it to a vacation destination in the mountains where there is no mail box. Interesting to be sure. I requested a full refund, but was told it would be 30 days before I receive it, it didn't take 1-800 30 days to take my money.
I will never do business with them again, and if you're reading this, I would suggest you document everything as I did on email.
I tried their fake "vision exam" back when it was free, and I wasn't wearing contacts and put in the wrong prescription (-10.50 instead of -1.50) and they made me record my eyes looking in different directions. They said my lenses fit fine! I WASN'T WEARING ANY! And the prescription... they just rubber-stamp it because they want the sale so badly! The doctor who "examined" me, I found out later was fired from her job in (I think) Illinois for rubber-stamping online prescriptions! Now I think they charge for the "vision exams" because otherwise they are legally bound to give you your prescription so you can shop around.

Simply the worst company ever. They have NO customer service whatsoever. Ordered a year supply of contacts and was to receive a $100 debit card. I received it months later and when I tried to activate the card it had already expired. Called 1800contacts and they were no help at all. Offered me $50. Off my next purchase and laughed. I asked them which company benefited from sending me a worthless card. They refused to answer which was all I needed to know. Don't believe anything these scam artists say it is all lies.
I placed an order on 3/18 with my contacts prescription uploaded to the site. On 3/19 they said they cannot process because my first name got cut off, but this was how the doctor's office printed out. They said it would take just a business day to verify and confirm with the doctor's office. On 3/25 I followed up. On 3/26 they asked for my doctor's number. WHAT HAPPENED TO JUST A BUSINESS DAY TO VERIFY? WHY DIDN'T THEY ASK FOR THE NUMBER SOONER? WHY WAITED UNTIL I FOLLOWED UP A WEEK LATER TO DO THEIR JOB?
I sent them my spectacle prescription and pointed out that the patient and doctor's information are IDENTICAL. On 3/30 they upgraded my shipping to 1-business day and shipped the product. On 4/1 I called UPS and they confirmed the package was lost.
I emailed them on 4/1 AND 4/2. No response to date. They were quick to respond within 24 hours before the product was shipped. Looks like once they ship and have your money, they give zero f***s about you.

Uploaded rx, rx shows on my account and auto fills info for order, place order and pay for expedited shipping because I need ASAP.
9:30 the night before contacts are supposed to arrive, I get email saying Rx hasn't been "verified".
Contact company through chat. Inform them rx was uploaded before order was placed. They say they need Dr's info and can't explain WHY they need it when they have Rx already on my account with all info on it. Then they tell me they will remove rush shipping charge but I can't get them for 4 more days. I say I'm not satisfied because I need contacts tomorrow but fine, I guess.
THEN I get a text telling me my order has been CANCELED!

I share my frustration about their repeated mistakes and am offered a "discount" - of removal of the expedited shipping fee that never happened (whaaaat? Gee, thanks) - and still no contacts for 4 days. I share my shock that they are calling the removal of the rush shipping fee a DISCOUNT and tell them it is now MIDNIGHT, I need to be sleeping, and I'm done. Now that it's been over 2 hours, they offer a 20% discount... would I like then to charge my card again? Then they'll just have to verify my Rx tomorrow but still can't get my contacts to me until Monday (they were supposed to be here Friday). At this point, I trust NOTHING they say and suggest they send this order free, in order to preserve not only my business but my husband's, which has been long-term... but you can guess how that went over. So, they've cost me DAYS - probably more than a week - since I'm starting over now with another company AND wasted well over 2 hours of my time.

I did not check a box of contacts I ordered until a month later. I was missing a box of contacts from my order. I emailed them and they got back to me the same day. They said they would send me a replacement box arriving within 4 days. What a reliable business! I highly recommend them. Best way to order contacts!
I ordered contacts in the last week of the year with what was left in my health savings account. They first could not read the prescription I sent so I had to send photos of the boxes. This went around their customer service loop of order takers a couple of times before it finally landed in Brittany's hands. Brittany could at least read. She was sharp enough to notice that I made a error and didn't pick contacts for the astigmatism as it said on the box photo I sent. Rather than just calling me or emailing me or doing anything about this minor error, Brittany took the lazy way out and just cancelled the order! Now, the new year has passed. I called to beg to have the order reopened or backdated or whatever... nope. I lose out on $900 in health savings money, 1-800 contacts loses out on a $900 order and a lifelong customer all because of lazy Brittany who can't bridge the gap as to why people are placing such large orders with them in the last week of year! Think Brittany!
Compared the contacts to the same exact ones from my doctor and they are made cheaply, ripped easily.
Answer: You would need to get a daily disposable fitting from your eye doctors office before changing brands. Each brand contains specific measurements and if they aren't correct can effect the clarity of your vision. The doctor's office usually will give you a 5 day trial to make sure they work before finalizing the prescription to order.
