Zocdoc is greedy and killing zocdoc 's good service by charging doctor high booking fee and they don't let people or patients to know this charging and circustance of their booking, hurrying the people making booking there and generating high booking fee from doctors, it is becoming worse and worse, patient no show, no information, false booking, last minutes booking no show still make doctor pay the booking fee. The point they don't let people know when they are booking, it is a monster system to generate the money through booking, please people waking up, not let it making money through your irresponsible behavior
On their TV ad the lady is reviewing profiles and while she is swiping she mentions that one doctor is "too old".
Age discrimination has no place in today's world.
Don't trust their doctor reviews. If you look at their reviews, they are overwhelmingly positive. I trusted these reviews and went to see a doctor with glowing reviews, but ended up having a horrible experience. I then submitted a review of my visit, but Zocdoc refused to post it even though the post had no sensitive or personal info in it. It seems to me that they discard negative reviews so people see a bunch of highly reviewed doctors that people will use their site to book appointments. Just go and compare reviews on Zocdoc of a certain doctor/office to other third party sites, and you will likely see the Zocdoc reviews are far more positive compared to other sites. For this reason, Zocdoc is a dishonest service and you should be cautious of using it.
Hi Peter, reviews are an incredibly important part of your healthcare experience, which is why we take them so seriously. Zocdoc publishes reviews that adhere to our review policy guidelines. To confirm, we want to create a useful, representative and reliable resource that you can depend on. That means we post positive reviews, negative reviews, and everything in between. Please give us a call at 855-962-3621 so we can further investigate this issue for you. We're happy to help! - The Zocdoc Service Team
My complaint is with the commmercial itself how in the world would someone while going down their list of potential Dr's say one is to EDUCATED it makes her sound like a $#*! for something that was written for her by your company but of course that didn't matter to you let's make her sound like a $#*! it would go over most people head's let's not forget she is black so more than likely they want get it
So I got on this website because I was told that you could see a psychiatrist virtually because I just lost my grandfather and I was not grieving well and I was highly depressed and needed help. Within a two week period four different doctors (2 psychiatrists and 1 obgyn) canceled on me. This company is clearly a scam because I have yet to see a doctor keep an appointment from this company. Beware I would not share any health information with this company who knows how they are utilizing it because they are definitely not using it to help people. This company really needs to be shut down what they are doing is illegal and it's harming people that are already dealing with difficult issues and illnesses. They should not be able to still operate. You cannot treat people this way and expect to stay in business. I would not use them if I were you, clearly at 3.77 stars I'm not the only one with this issue so obviously it's a company wide problem not a customer problem.
Hi there, Amber, we're troubled to hear that this was your experience with the appointments you've booked on Zocdoc. This is not how Zocdoc is intended to work, as providers do guarantee their availability and all information they list on their profiles! We want to look into this a bit further. I'm very sorry for your loss as well. If you're willing, please give us a call at (855) 962-3621. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you find the healthcare you deserve.- The Zocdoc Service Team
I do not trust this company in the handling of patient and provider information. They are not adhering to HIPAA compliance and are negligent with provider and patient information. The customer service is poor, and the management is poor as well very rude and unprofessional.
Hi there, thank you for sharing feedback. We take privacy seriously and comply with all applicable data protection laws. Feel free to find details here (https://www.zocdoc.com/about/topic/data-privacy/).
As a provider, I have never registered for Zocdoc. I am in Headway, and they offered Zocdoc for free for a very short time. They stopped offering this service for a very good reason. I have a review of someone I have never seen as a patient. They have another review of someone who is allowed to comment on how I looked. First, I work with women and see the damage other women making comments about appearance can do to a person. To approve this review, knowing providers cannot comment due to HIPAA is wrong. You cannot find me on Zocdoc because I would never want to be a part of a company that allows fake reviews and reviews that comment on my looks. How did a client get verified that I never have talked to or seen? They book with me on the platform and cancel but just show Zocdoc they booked. That is not verification.
Hi Tonya. On Zocdoc, we have a closed-loop review system, only allowing verified patients to leave reviews. If a patient books an appointment on Zocdoc and the provider does not mark that the patient was not seen, the patient can leave a review. To read more about our review policy, feel free to go to this link - https://www.zocdoc.com/about/verifiedreviews/. For any further questions or concerns, You may reach out to us at (866) 962-3621 or email us at [email protected].
1. Do not use this platform
2. Reasons: Patients are allowed to book even if you dont take their insurance
3. If they (the patient, not you) dont cancel within 24 hours you are charged $65
4. If they no show you are STILL charged the $65 fee
5. Customer Service is useless
6. I asked specific questions and spent HOURS asking questions and setting up my profile and have been charged multiple times for client no shows
Hi Brandy. I apologize if our policies were not explained efficiently when your profile was set up. We are a marketing service where providers pay for new patients finding them on Zocdoc and booking with them. We have policies in place to limit the number of patient no-shows and cancellations. With that being said, no-shows may still happen which is why these are factored into our booking fees. Feel free to reach out to us at (866) 962-3621 or [email protected] if you have any further questions.
It is horrendous that such an organization should be allowed to prey on well intentioned doctors and clinicians and clients for their money making schemes. Appointments are made by potential clients who do not seem to have been provided with appropriate information. And the Doctor is expected to confirm the appointment within 24 hours WHEN IT IS OBVIOUS INSURANCE VERIFICATION ALONE TAKES DAYS!. The doctor has no choice but to cancel the appointment within 24 hours to avoid the huge charges Zocdoc makes. And even when the appointment is cancelled (with a lengthy explanation to the potential client of the PROPER procedure to follow for insurance verification AND to determine whether the doctor is the right person for the client's issues) within 24 hours zocdoc charges anyway. Their practices are well known to be unethical and predatory but I could not believe the extent of these issues until I experienced them first hand. A BOARD CERTIFIED MEDICAL DOCTOR.
Hi Darwin. We're sorry to hear that Zocdoc has not added value to your practice by bringing you new patients. Zocdoc is a paid marketing platform for providers, and we apologize if our billing policy was not made clear at your time of joining our platform. We have policies and features in place to reduce the number of cancellations, no-shows and late appointment changes that patients make. Please give us a call at (866) 962-3621 or email us at [email protected] if you'd like to discuss this any further. - The Zocdoc Service Team
This company is a scam! They don't disclose their policies clearly and charge providers for no shows and cancellations. This is not in their agreement and they do not disclose this info when you sign up and do their training.
Thank you for your feedback. We provide this training at the beginning and throughout the duration of your experience utilizing Zocdoc as we are all aligned on our fee-per-booking policy. You can also review this in the Legal tab of your Zocdoc account. Please know, the fee is tied to the booking and not the success of the appointment. Our booking fees are calculated with the understanding that not all bookings are going to be a perfect fit. Please feel free to contact us directly to discuss this further either by emailing us at [email protected] or by giving us a call at 866-962-3621 and we would be happy to help! -The Zocdoc Service Team
Hidden fees, no transparency and extremely difficult to use. So so frustrating. Charged $100+ to get a consult with a doctor who couldn't even help my problem. No refund and got my account "black listed". Have tried it three times and just gets more disappointing each time. Doctor cancellations, being overcharged or being scheduled 8+ hours away from where I actually live. Horrible horrible website that is way too difficult to use.
Hi there. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you have been experiencing. We work very hard to make sure the booking process goes smoothly for all of our patients on Zocdoc, and it's disappointing to hear that you had a poor experience after booking. I understand how concerning an unexpected medical bill can be. We would like to assist in resolving this issue if we can. Please reach out to us at [email protected] or (855) 962-3621.
I would honestly rate this with ZERO stars. They do not care about providers and will charge for patient referrals who are looking for a completely different service. They do not reimburse you. They often have the wrong patient insurance and will still let them book without a refund. It is a scam and a rip-off.
Hi Erin, thank you for leaving that feedback. We are truly sorry to hear you feel that way, as we care a lot about our providers and want to make sure our service works for them as best as possible. We want to be as transparent and upfront with you about our policies, and we have a dedicated team who is available 365 days a year to help you better utilize and optimize your profile to get value out of your account. There are no strings attached and providers can cancel their accounts at any time if they feel our service is not for them. Please give us a call at 866-962-3621 so we can look into this and see how we can help make Zocdoc work as best as it can for you.
I search for doctors in Washington it gives me doctors in NY. Their search is a joke. No appointment that I've made through them had been valid. Wasted whole week on trying to make an appointment with a therapist.
Horrible.
Hey Elena. We are sorry to hear about the trouble you've had doing a search. This doesn't sound right. We would be happy to look into this further for you, as well as help you find an appointment that works for you. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if we can help!
The doctor reviews are clearly fake. The same people are writing multiple good reviews to make the ratings higher.
Hello Anne. We appreciate your concern related to the reviews you see on Zocdoc. We have a closed-loop review system that only allows reviews to be left after an appointment has been booked. If a patient has booked multiple appointments with the same doctor, they could also leave multiple reviews. If you would like to discuss this further or if we can help you find the care you need, please give us a call at 855-962-3621. - The Zocdoc Team
Zocdoc scams doctors by charging them a fee depending on what specialty they are in through a "third-party valuation company." What this means is they have a third party company figure out how much a doctor in that specialty makes, and increases the fee as high as possible to try to bilk them. If you ask ZocDoc what third party company that engineered all this they don't tell you. No transparency. Also patients get screwed because since the doctors have to pay high fees to ZocDoc, they can't afford to let patients with insurance plans that reimburse less because it doesn't cover the cost of practice expenses with the exorbitant ZocDoc fees on top of it all, so those patients are excluded from the list of insurances the practice takes. ZocDoc used to charge a flat subscription fee so doctors' practices have more flexibility in spreading the ZocDoc fee expense across patients with different insurance plans -- those reimbursing higher can cover the fee and allow practices to see patients with plans that reimburse less. But with the current per appointment fee bilking model, ZocDoc basically forces practices to cherry pick only patients with insurance plans that reimburse more to cover the per patient booking fee. For the sake of health care access and not discriminating against patients with insurance plans that reimburse doctors less, avoid ZocDoc altogether and just book directly with the practice itself. (ZocDoc is like OpenTable which also screws restaurants with expensive booking fees.)

If I could of marked this 0 stars I would have. They have this platform set up to totally scam Providers. Their whole "cancellation policy" is such complete BS. They've even gone further with it & even changed the options to where they confuse you- yes, patient initiated the cancellation is KNOWN to be marked so you're not charged BUT now they have changed it to where if that is marked but you still put the reason as anything besides patient wanted to (even though it's the actual reason as to why THE PATIENT CANCELLED IN THE FIRST PLACE) they charge you. & When reaching out to the service team all they ever have to write back is "Our booking fee incorporates the fact that not every booking is going to be successful". Minas well write "sorry the patient didn't work out for you, but we don't care, you still owe us money".
SO heads up to everyone, when cancelling an appointment you MUST lie about the reason and just strictly stick to patient wanted it cancelled.
This world is so sad. MONEY HUNGRY at its finest. They don't care to help you out, they care about the money flow coming it.
I'd definitely rethink choosing this as a marketing platform!

They say "we match patients' needs with providers." They failed horrendously and charged me $130. I never listed myself as a psychiatrist, yet two patients booked me for medication management.
Fact
1. ZocDoc's failed website design misguided two patients to book me.
2. ZocDoc insists on charging me $130
3. ZocDoc insists on taking zero accountability
Don't even bother talking to the service support team. They just copy/paste the same message about their business model.
Hello Kyle. We are sorry to hear that you had a patient book who was not a good match for your practice. Although it sounds like you have already been in communication with our service team, we would like to look into this further to be sure that your profile is set up to receive patients you would be able to treat in the future. Please give us a call at (866)962-3621 at your convenience so we can help. -The Zocdoc Service Team
I made an appointment with zocdoc with Dr.Ariel.When I went to the doctors office for check up,they said that I don't have any appointment with them in their records.Im highly disappointed with zocdoc service.
Hi there Ferzana and thank you for letting us know the provider did not have a record of your appointment. This is troubling to hear as providers do list all of their own availability. If you give us a call at 855-962-3621 we can look into this for you and see what may have happened.
Zocdoc said they will charge if I see a client...the truth is they charge when a client supposedly schedules a session...They don't wait for you to approve. All clients had Medicaid and my profile stated I do not take insurance. Cameron Rivers lied!
Hi there and thank you for letting us know. We do apologize for any confusion around our billing. We have many publicly available sources outlining our policies as well as exact details that are directly on your account. You can give our dedicated team a call at 866-962-3621 any day of the year and we can help answer any questions or concerns you may have.
I had a terrible experience with an absurdly long wait time (the opposite of Zocdoc's ratings), one other patient walked out so I told the receptionist I had to go back to work, then left a negative review, but it never posted, not only that, the doctor's office claimed they canceled the appointment.
Then I decided to cross check Zocdoc doctors with a google search and found an entirely different (and honest) set of reviews. Zocdoc is gaming the system because doctors pay them for referring patients so it's a scam.
Hi there Rob and thank you for letting us know. We are sorry to hear your appointment was canceled and your review was not posted. Unlike other services, we have a closed-loop review system with publicly available guidelines that prevent any sort of nonverified reviews to be posted. If you give us a call at 855-962-3621 we would be happy to look into this and answer any questions you may have.
Answer: Hello Mark. Zocdoc offers a closed-loop review system that allows patients to share their experiences after being seen for an appointment booked on Zocdoc. These reviews can be found on each individual provider's Zocdoc profile. You can search for a provider at https://www.zocdoc.com/. Please let us know if we can help you find the care that you need or if there is a different set of reviews that you are trying to access at this time. You can reach our service team at (855)962-3621.
Answer: Hi Sandra, we hope that you were able to get the care that you were looking for. At Zocdoc, we are not able to offer any medical advice or guidance so we recommend you contact your doctor directly if you need to ever verify they will be able to provide the treatment you are looking for. Feel free to reach out to the Zocdoc team at (855) 962-3621 or [email protected] if there is anything we can do to help you find the care that you need.
Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
Answer: Hello Swetha. Thanks for reaching out. We'd love to help you find a doctor and book an appointment right online. If you go to www.Zocdoc.com, you can search for doctors by specialty, location, and insurance. You'll be able to see a list of doctors and their availability. Once you select a doctor, you can choose the time that is best for you. Once you complete the booking process, the doctor will receive your appointment information and confirm your appointment via email. This is completely free for you as a patient. Please give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you need help with this or anything else!
Answer: Hi Amanda! That depends on the doctor's office! Every provider is different, so it would be best to get in touch with them about specific pricing information. Give us a call at 855-962-3621 if you have any other questions. In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
Answer: Hi Mallory! Thanks for your question! You can see a provider's reviews by viewing the full profile and scrolling down. All of the reviews will be listed there toward the left side of the page. Give us a call at (855) 962-3621 if you are having any trouble! In health, Mary M. Zocdoc Service Team
