Zocdoc is the easiest way for me to book appointments. Usually it was harder for me to find places that took my insurance, but ZD makes that so easy.
I used ZocDoc to find doctors in Manhattan and Brooklyn after I moved. I needed new doctors for everything and ones that were in convenient locations to my work or home. It made finding a new set of doctors really easy, and the convenience of doing paperwork before hand meant that I was saving time at the office.
By other people's reviews of doctors I was also able to be sure to pick doctor's where I would have less severe wait times (although I do think some people get angry about very little things so take reviews with a grain of salt). It's been a great and simple experience and their customer service team is quick-acting if anything gets jumbled.
Worked nicely; it saved me some time and inconvenience finding a doctor and dentist.
I signed up with ZocDoc after applying for a job there, to better understand the patient experience and fully appreciate the business model. It was great finding a specialist in my neighborhood via ZocDoc and I liked the reminder to get a dental cleaning though must admit, it prompted me to call my doctor rather than look for a new one via the app. Overall, I think the service is very useful in identifying new doctors and makes getting an appointment amazingly easy.

Was able to make an appointment with my dr thru the online appointment calendar and then be reminded of that appointment
Did not have good experience with him... 6" incision and 70% chance of recovery... horrible bed side manner plus Dr. Robin Wind does not know him. When to Dr. Scott Cordes much better. Dr. Bensen was his reside for 4 years... Dr. Afshari made bad recommendations.
The Dr. is just wonderful, she is the best Dr. I have had since I moved to Austin from Houston 15 years ago.
I made an appointment for an OB GYN visit on ZocDoc and arrived at my appointment on time. I stood in the office for twenty minutes waiting for someone to appear in the deserted office. When the nurse practitioner finally saw me she attempted to find me in the office system but could not locate me. According to their office I had no appointment and was not able to receive a consultation or examination. I took time out of my work day to travel to the doctor's office, wait for someone to see me in the office, and then was told I had no appointment. All because ZocDoc messed up and somehow my appointment did not transfer to the office system. It is difficult to find time during the work week to make an appointment and arriving at an office to be told I had no appointment was frustrating and not acceptable.

Love ZocDoc! Keeps me straight by reminding me of appointments.
Very pleased with ease of making appointments and follow up feature of the service.
I just love how ZocDoc makes it so easy to find a doctor in the area (who takes my insurance) any day, any time. I also find it useful that they list all of my doctors and their contact info in one easy spot when I'm filling out paperwork at other offices. They are huge on user experience, as well.
User-friendly site. Does not take a lot of time and you do not have to wait on hold till hell freezes over to get an appointment. There are two weaknesses about ZocDoc:
1. A lot of doctors in your area are not listed on ZocDoc
2. If you do find your doctor occasionally... actually more than occasionally... there are no appointments listed or available.

This is a great site to find a doctor who is accepting new patients and/or accepts my insurance. Patient reviews of doctors are also very useful in helping me decide if a particular doctor will work for me.
Dr. Jaime Mercado was listed as a provider under my Blue Cross plan. I had to change Obgyn's because the type of Blue Cross plan I was on changed and my previous Doctor was not on the new plan. The first time I looked at ZocDoc, you had a Doctor on their listed for Plantation, I made an appt. On-line. They called me and said there was a mistake on ZocDoc and it would be corrected, they did not take my plan. You guys corrected it and for the error apologized and gave me a $5 amazon gift card. Doctor #2 was scheduled. Called the office said I wanted to make sure he is on my plan before I have my records transferred. They said yes and had my records transferred and I saw the Doctor for my Annual Obgyn visit, which after Obama care went in to practice is suppose to be free. The Docor recommended I have some kind of in office screening test for Ovarian Cancer and to make a separate appointment. I made it for a week later. In the meantime, I called the Doctor's office and said, "Before I have this test done, I want to make sure of what the cost is". She called me back and said it was just a $50 co-pay. I receive a bill from them a few weeks later. They take the $50 co-pay and apply it to my annual visit, charge me for the balance of the visit, plus the balance of what the Insurance did not cover on the test. The bill was for $229.45. I called them and inquired and they directed me to Blue Cross. Blue Cross informed me that Dr. Mercado was out of network. I called the office back and they were perplexed. Right now they are trying to determine what to do in their billing Department to get this straightened out. As of this time, you still show Dr. Jaime Mercado listed as in In Network provider on my plan. I am disgusted with Both ZocDoc and the Doctor's office for not having a clue. Now I have to find another whole new Doctor. You can bet, I won't be using ZocDoc.

ZocDoc is amazingly useful and easy to use. I love being able to read reviews left by others who have visited doctors and it definitely affects my decision. It's also amazingly easy to book an appointment and they remind you of it too!

I have found Zoc Doc to be easy to use, and enjoy the appointment reminders.

Answer: Yes, prices appear to be around $44-180 now. Offices get charged this even for cancellations, no-shows, and fake bookings. Zocdoc has no built in protections to negate this type of booking behaviors. Why would they when they profit off it? Zocdoc also prohibits practices from talking about this fee as it violates their "community standards."
