Zenni is Just Zenni

I'd used Zenni about 4 years ago. Then I'd found them cost effective and very professiona.My prescription changed so after all this time, as a trial, I ordered one pair reading and one distance. I was so satisfied with everything that I've ordered two more pairs ( distance and bi-focal) and plan on ordering a couple more. I just like having backup and different glasses for different situations. Hope they continue to maintain.

Deanna was very friendly & helpful, and because of her I have two pairs for my youngest. They are perfect for our needs and they have stood quite the torture tests! We needed glasses that couldn't be broken and they have certainly fared the weather!
I'm extremely pleased and thankful to Zenni, and I will most definitely be back.

Disappointed

I don't like to complain, and I am grateful to be able to in this instance.
These lenses pit a very bizarre curve like distortion
To things. I have to take them off often as it gives me a sick feeling after a few hours of wear.
The transition lenses do not go dark enough either snd I don't like the grey cast to it either.

Save your Money!

(I posted the chat so you guys can see that Zenni's customer service is horrible!) New to wearing glasses, I first contacted Zenni, they told me to give my eyes an adjustment period. I was persistent, and I returned the frames. They said the ophthalmologist found nothing wrong with my glasses and sent them back to me; BTW, I had to pay shipping and handling. Still not satisfied, now recurring headaches, I made an eye doctor's appointment, and let's say I'm agitated. Zenni not only gave me incorrect RX, but they have two different prescriptions in my one frame. My left eye has something different than my right. I understand that some people may have this issue, but not me! So instead of fixing a mistake that has been an ongoing issue, as the representative said, I've sent these glasses back to their company for review, the representative hides behind the return policy. The unfortunate mistake is with COVID and me being a fireman; I couldn't make it into the doctor's office until now, mandatory overtime as a FF/ Medic. Rather, it was 30 days or six months, and the frame Zenni issued was incorrect and did not measure up to the prescription I submitted. I wouldn't have known if the prescription was wrong until I asked my eye doctor to review the eyeglass prescription. Please save your money, and you want to purchase with a company that values customer service and fixing their mistakes! Please take your glasses to your doctor's office and make sure the prescription Zenni has issued matches the one submitted?

Thank you for posting this review of your purchase from Zenni Optical.
We are truly sorry that your glasses did not work well for you; we are also sorry for the disappointment you experienced as a result. However, as advised in our response to the review you posted on another review site approximately 6 months ago regarding this order, the glasses did not work for you because the prescription was entered incorrectly on two orders you placed with us, which we confirmed by reviewing the copy of the prescription you provided. The doctor’s prescription calls for +0.25 for the left eye (OS) Cylinder, and unfortunately, you entered -0.25 instead. Consequently, we apologize for any confusion and dismay you experienced as a result. In addition, we want to confirm that you selected the near-range workspace progressive prescription design for both orders, which provides good up-close vision up to approximately three feet away, and you used a different Near-Vision reading Addition correction (NV-ADD) on each order. You used +3.00 for one order, which we believe that you used because on your prescription copy under ADD the eye doctor provided EZ 3, which is not the standard way an eye doctor writes an NV-ADD correction. And for the other order, you used an NV-ADD of +1.00. Furthermore, we advise that you follow up with your doctor for clarification regarding his or her entry for the ADD, which says EZ 3, and the entry under the recommendations field of your prescription, which says EyeZen 3 as this implies a recommendation for single vision glasses instead of the progressive lenses you ordered.
In addition, we wish to clarify that the glasses were not returned to us to be examined, as there was no need to authorize an inspection once we saw that the prescription was entered incorrectly. When you returned the glasses from the first of the two orders mentioned, we issued a 100 percent refund of the price of these glasses in the form of store credit, excluding the shipping fee, to your Zenni account, so that you may use it to reorder the glasses with the correct prescription. A prepaid return shipping label was provided to cover the cost of shipping the glasses back and you were responsible for the shipping fee on the next order. Since you used a combination of this store credit refund, $78.92, plus $10.19 from your credit card to pay for the subsequent order, on which the prescription was also entered incorrectly, we want to confirm that when a return is initiated during the 30-day return period, the refund that is available when a customer uses a combination of store credit and a credit card to pay for an order is a 50 percent refund of the amount of store credit that was used, which will be credited to the credit card that was also used, and a 100 percent store credit of the amount that was paid for with the credit card, minus the $4.95 Standard shipping fee, which we do not refund in a situation such as this.
We will confirm that your glasses are several months outside of warranty, but if you would like to return the glasses, we are happy to make an exception and allow you to return them for the refund mentioned above. We are sorry that the representative with whom you spoke did not seek a supervisor’s approval to extend the return period, however, we are grateful for the opportunity to do that for you now. To initiate this return, we invite you to telephone Zenni Customer Service at 1-800-211-2105 or email us at [email protected] and anyone who answers will be eager to assist you with return instructions for this refund option, as well as a prepaid mailing label to use for return postage. If you choose to email us, please put your order number in the subject line of the email, and in the body of the email please advise that you would like emailed instructions to return the glasses for this refund option, and we will email you return instructions plus the prepaid mailing label.

Good Quality, Great Value for My Money

I've never walked out of an in-network optometrist store without plunking down at least $350 for a new pair of eyeglasses, and that's WITH insurance coverage. I got really, really tired of it.

I'm a very proactive consumer/buyer and I aggressively researched whether there was any way to get eyeglasses more cheaply - and Presto! Thank you internet for all of the great info you provided on how to buy eyeglasses online. I did a ton of reading on the top online eyeglass companies and after comparing reviews, prices and frames, I decided to go with Zenni. I bought THREE pairs of Rx glasses: near vision/readers; mid-vision computer glasses and far vision/distance. The total cost to me for all three? $140. I got three pairs of prescription glasses for less than half the cost of what a single pair would cost me at brick-and-mortar retail optometry store.

I got my glasses surprisingly quickly after I placed my order and I am SUPER happy with them! All three pairs feel good with both fit and the prescription, I've been wearing them every day and haven't noticed any problems. So far, so good! I definitely recommend Zenni and would buy from them again.

Very bad and slow service if you need to return eyeglasses during their warranty period. They only provide store credit and even after I have made the return to USPS with proof of tracking, they said that I will only be credited after two days. This is unacceptable because people need to buy replacement eyeglasses ASAP and they also have to consider their shipping time which takes weeks.

To Zenni: Please note that there are other online stores that offer much more superior services and better quality eyeglasses than Zenni, and more competitive prices too, including blue blocker lenses. For example, firmoo.com gives a refund immediately through their coupon code so that customers can buy replacement eyeglasses ASAP.

We are sorry to read that you consider our service bad and slow, after having contacted us to return and replace your glasses because your prescription had changed. Our records show that you contacted us on August 17th and that the representative who assisted you promptly emailed you a prepaid return shipping label to return the glasses free of shipping charges. Our representative explained that you may return the glasses for store credit, excluding the shipping fee, which you could use to reorder the glasses with the correct prescription. She also explained that typically, the store credit would be available in your account within 2-3 business days after you return the glasses to your local USPS office and after they scan the return label. We are sorry that this time frame is longer than you expected, but we are thrilled to see in our records that you returned the glasses to the local USPS office promptly, that the label was scanned on August 19, and that you didn’t have to wait 2 or 3 business days because the store credit was issued on the same day. We are also happy to see that you have already used the store credit to place a new order. Although orders for which customers select the standard shipping option can take 14 to 21 days to be delivered, many of our orders are delivered early, as you may already know since three of your recent orders were submitted on July 30th and were delivered within 8 days. We will manufacture the new order and ship it as soon as possible and we trust that it will be delivered in a timely manner.
We want you to know that we appreciate your feedback and we will be sure to pass your comments on to our management team to be taken under consideration.

I read the return policy on this company before ordering. They stated if you cancel you receive 1/2 your money back on an order they might have started. It was the weekend and Monday Morning when they opened the had my cancellation email. That is fine I can live with 1/2 a refund on a pair on glasses. No where on the description did it state that it also includes any product that is coming with the order. Lost out on a proper refund on glasses case. I wouldn't deal with them again. Any reputable company would fully refund the product. I can live with the policy on the glasses, but a poor business on refunds to do with product when it will just go back into stock. I am sure my glasses order wouldn't have even been started yet, considering it was a Sunday. They could have refunded both given there was a Sunday in between. Update, company chose to refund the balance of the glasses case. I am satisfied to the resolution of what I was annoyed about. Would change it to a 3 star now.

Poor quality! Very, very cheap material! And the return policy is ridiculous! They will discount taxes, return only 50% if you decide you want your money back! And you also have to pay to ship the return! It's absolutely outrageous!

We are sorry that you were dissatisfied with the quality of your glasses and with the terms of our return policy, which states that glasses may be returned for any reason for either 100% store credit or 50% refund to the credit card that was used to pay for the order. These options exclude the shipping fee; however, a prepaid return shipping label is provided via email to customers returning glasses from within the US.
We are also sorry that we cannot offer a full refund for glasses that were neither manufactured incorrectly nor defective. We believe that the store credit is a good option for customers who disliked the frame or lenses they selected, and are willing to try again to order glasses that better suit their tastes, and we are pleased to offer 50% refund to customers who do not wish to reorder so that they may recoup half of what was initially paid for the glasses.

Liars and scammers

Zenni will send you a totally wrong prescription and pretend they sent you the right one so they don't have to give you a full refund. They will lie to your face to save a few bucks. I got a pair that was a very small prescription change and I couldn't see a thing out of them, I felt so dizzy and sick to my stomach trying to see through them. I had my trusted local eye Dr. check the prescription and the pupilary distance was 4 full mm off. I sent them back after they lied about having a supervisor contact me (obviously never did) and then they lied and pretended the prescription was right, so they only gave me a 50% refund.

I can see they lied to other people and did this exact same thing to them to save a few bucks (check the other bad reviews on this website and others). I'm a creature of habit and would have kept buying from Zenni for years, but they lost a customer for life over $20. I have also told all of my friends and family to avoid them, which is also a loss of more than $20.

I sent the same exact prescription to Warby Parker and they were made perfectly. I'm very happy I no longer use Zenni.

First, we are sorry to learn that you were told that a supervisor would call you back and that it didn't happen, so we sincerely apologize for that oversight. Our supervisors are not always available to take a phone call, so it is not uncommon for a representative to advise that one will call back within a few hours. However, it is important to us to make sure that our representatives pass these messages on to the appropriate supervisor and that these calls get made; consequently, we have retrieved the recording of your call to identify the agent involved so that we may address this issue with both the agent and supervisor to ensure that this does not happen again.
Additionally, we are sorry that you felt the prescription and/or pupillary distance were incorrect, and we apologize for the disappointment you experienced as a result. We regret that we cannot accept a third party's inspection of Zenni glasses, as we cannot vouch for accurate calibration of their inspection equipment and we are sorry that your doctor’s assessment of the glasses did not coincide with the results of our inspection, which indicated that there were no errors of the prescription or pupillary distance in the glasses. When glasses are returned to us for inspection, and the inspection results confirm that there is a defect or error in manufacturing, we are happy to remake the glasses or offer a full refund; however, in cases such as yours where no errors are found, standard return options apply, which are either 50% refund to the credit card used to place the order, or 100% store credit, excluding shipping fees. When you were given those options, you declined the 100% store credit and chose the 50% refund, and our records show that that refund was processed on August 6,2021.
We are sorry that you are dissatisfied with our declining a full refund for the glasses since our inspection concluded that they were manufactured correctly; however, we thank you for posting this review of your experience.

This is an update to my Zenni Bad Prescription review.
Briefly: Got a 2nd pair of glasses from Zenni to match my original prescription. Left lens of Zenni was blurry. My optician found an error. Zenni didn't agree. Only got about half my money back.
Sent SAME prescription to Eye-Buy-Direct and they came back perfect.
PLUS, since my prescription is a little different Eye-Buy-Direct even called me to verify the prescription.
Cheaper is not always the best way to go.

Zenni is terrible. So, I have a couple pairs with my same prescription so I know how they're supposed to feel on my eyes. I ordered two pairs from zenni and when I got them, my eyes felt horrible, I couldn't see right, or clearly. I could tell something was off. So I sent them back for zenni to check. And they were like "we're sorry our team didn't create the glasses up to our standards, we will re make them" so basically if I wouldn't have known what my prescription should feel like for my eyes already, zenni glasses would have messed them up bad and gave me headaches because they can't make glasses correctly. Not only that, they wouldn't give me a refund. You only get store credit. Which I didn't want because clearly zenni is terrible. So, three money's later after all the sending back and them re-making, I finally get the re-made glasses. And they STILL ARENT CORRECT. They hurt my eyes, give me headaches. They're just not right. They just simply don't make glasses right. I don't know who they have back there in China making these lenses but they clearly don't know what they're doing and don't care about ruining peoples eye health. So now I'm sick of wasting more of my time and I'm stuck with crap glasses. Awesome.

After seeing all the U-Tube videos on Zenni glasses, I thought I would order a pair of prescription glasses. I selected a frame, and provided all the information they wanted online. The next step was to send my prescription to Zenni via email. This, for some reason was blocked by Zenni. So I tried to contact customer service by email to tell them about this... and my emails (5) were all blocked... So I tried to call them, and the automated voice was not distiinct - so I waited to speak to a real person - but kept getting a busy signal. There was a "chat" available, and I tried that with no success as there was no way to send my comments back to them. Soo, the only thing left was to send them a letter by USPS to cancel the whole order. A week later, they informed me that my glasses have been sent - (non-prescription glasses). I called again and finally spoke to a real person, who said I must return the glasses to them, and they will refund me the complete cost, and he emailed me a return postage label. I did this and returned the glasses - but they later informed me I will be refunded much less than what I paid. This whole thing was a terrible experience, and I would NEVER order anything from Zenni again.

First, we wish to clarify that there is no requirement or request for a customer to email a copy of a prescription to Zenni. Our online order form asks that you choose from either non-prescription glasses or those with a prescription. If you select non-prescription, you will not be prompted later to provide a prescription, either on the website or by email. However, if you choose prescription glasses, our website prompts you to enter the prescription in detail before the order can be submitted successfully, and there is no request to email it to us thereafter. Although it is not required, you may email a prescription to us or upload it during a chat session with a representative if you have questions about it or if you would like us to check it against an existing order to make sure you entered the prescription correctly while ordering. We hope to have clarified any confusion about how a prescription is added to a pair of glasses in an order.
Additionally, we would like to explain that when glasses are returned for reasons other than a manufacturing error or defect, a customer may choose from one of two return options - 50% refund to the credit card, excluding the shipping fee, or 100% store credit, excluding the shipping fee. We believe the store credit is a good option for when a mistake was made during the order process and the customer is willing to try again to order correctly, and we are pleased to offer 50% refund to customers who do not wish to reorder so that they may recoup half of what was initially paid for the glasses. This is my 2nd review of Zenni. After my 1st review, they asked me to private message them. I did... and... crickets. I've not heard from them at all. So, they made the glasses incorrectly TWICE, kept HALF of my money AND still have the frames to RESELL. Interesting business model.

We would like to clarify that in accordance with our return policy, which can be found in the Terms of Use on our website, if glasses are returned to us for reasons other than a manufacturing error, the return options are either 50% refund to your credit card, excluding the shipping fee, or 100% store credit, excluding the shipping fee. Additionally, orders that are paid for using store credit cannot be returned for store credit; in this case, the 50% refund will be the only option. However, if you received incorrect instructions from one of our representatives about how to enter your prescription, and that information caused you to order incorrectly, the return options just mentioned would not apply. If incorrect instructions were given to you and your order was paid for by a credit card, we’d be glad to give you a full refund, and if your order was paid for by store credit, we will reissue the store credit and make it available again in your Zenni account. Love my glasses!

Got my glasses and love them
Got my glasses and love them. I ordered because the ones I picked out at place I got prescription were huge but I couldn't really tell because my eyes had been dilated (never pick out glasses while blind lol). I swear I can see out of these better as well even tho these and my other company ones are suppose to be the same prescription. Absolutely going to order a couple more pair for backups (I'm hard on glasses)! Also I have never ordered glasses online before but after taking my time learning how measure my pupils and stuff I was able to pick out exactly what I wanted without feeling rushed in an office. I got an email asking for a review (no compensation) a month after I got my glasses and I don't have my proof of purchase email to verify I'm just doing this review to hopefully help someone on the fence about ordering from Zenni to go ahead and try it because I am so happy with my experience!
