This is the most frustrating and incompetent company out there. Do not spend your money advertising with Yellow Pages. There are far better ways to advertise your business online.

Just Walk Away!
January 25, 2017

I signed up for a year for my business. I didnt get 1 call via yellow pages online. Think about that for a second. I shelled out about $700 and didnt get 1 call. Use Kijijj instead to advertise your business.

These guys are now sending our business a $30 monthly bill claiming they were previously affiliated with the Telus bills and their "services" were authorized by someone who worked here for another business 4 yrs ago. I said we would not pay it and she said we needed to notify them 3 months prior to their printing and online posting. Total garbage, plus they had previously been calling the office constantly, asking for information. This should be illegal.

Forced Sign up
December 6, 2016

The yellow pages rep called me about promoting my business on Yellow pages and I said NO, I asked him to email me the contract so I can review it, the Guy said "just say I agree so I can hold your spot for the month" till I review the email contract. He never send me the details and after a month I receive an invoice for $281.09 for something which i never knew i signed up and now they are saying it is one year contract. On top of everything, they are advertising wrong business name. Horrible experience and by the way I have not got a single business call from their ad. Will be reporting to BBB.

Worst experience ever
December 2, 2016

Stay away from these guys. They sell you on false claims, and then fast talk you into verbally agreeing to a year contract you don't even know you are getting into to. Do not ever agree to anything verbally, ask for a written copy and sing it then send it back. Once the contract is verbally signed, you get ZERO support. When my listing finally went online, my logo was missing, the company name was wrong, and the add was listed in the wrong city. Don't believe their exaggerated claims of their connection with GOOGLE, it's all sales tactics to get you money and then leave you in the dust. Do yourself a favour and advertise elsewhere to save your money and wasted time! 0/10

Unprofessional Company
November 11, 2016

I see I'm not the only one having difficulties dealing with this company. They placed my ad with my competitors web site and wanted me to pay, I lost business and it took them almost 9 months to resolve the problem. When i asked to cancel my account, they gave me a date to cancel by, I sent them emails with my permission to cancel, and a month later they said i missed the deadline. What a joke. Now they are billing me for another year, with a higher rate. I never received notification if i wanted to renew or advising me of a price increase.
I think since I'm seeing many of the same complaints, i'm thinking this is a good story for Market Place, BBB or contacting a lawyer to proceed in a class action.

Absolute dirty business. Never use yellow pages. We agreed to a 30 day trial but they signed up our seasonal business to a one year contract for a total of $3000! They mislead us and never sent us a contract. They also stole our pictures off of our facebook page. I'm having a hard time getting in touch with a manager but my lawyer assures me they are crooks and have nothing legally binding. They have my vote for worst business in Canada.

YP Called me one day and offered me a google ad seo solution with no mention or disclaimer that its only free for one month. He pushed me into registering for it and already had all my details already and signed me up. I had no idea what I had got into. Few months later they called me saying you have an outstanding amount of $600 and I told them at that time I didnt sign up for anything and there invoice lady insisted being a $#*! about it. Followed by that they escalated it to the collection group who were even bigger $#*!s saying just settle it its good for you bla bla bal even after I told them I was forced into this

I have been very disappointed with their service. I signed up for a $30 a month plan for 12 months and received little response from the add. They never posted my logo despite me contacting them 3 times to have it resolved and them promising each time it would appear on the website. They called me in March to ask if I wanted to renew for another year and I declined. They continued to bill me after the cancellation date for $45.00. I called and was told "yes we have the recording of your call and we see you requested it cancelled and will credit the money". The next month I had another charge and called in. This time I was told "yes I see that it was be be credited but there is a form that needs to be completed for a credit and next month I will have to submit the form to get your credit and then it will take 6 weeks to process". So they want to hold onto my money for another 2.5 months. That is if the guy sends the form. Meaning I stopped it in March and wouldn't receive my credit until September. I had to threaten to call Visa and dispute the charges before they were able to give me a resolution and say that the credit would be within 2 weeks. I must say they were always very pleasant on the phone but the hoops and shifty practices has made me loose complete trust in this company.

Service? What service? You mean the online directory that no one goes to see and that the add you posted with the wrong information? And you want me to pay you how much? 300$ a month?
Hahaha, pathetic. Unfortunately, their sale people are good and agressive and they say things in a way that could be construed as harmless like not interested? No problem, give me your authorization to save this special price: 75$ for the next 10 days, you have 10 days to change your mind. 3 months later, you get an invoice for a service you never wanted, a contract you "agreed to" over the phone, 12 months, and no cancelation possibility.
They are the epitome of bad business, selling a service that has become irrelevant, on their way out, and trying to take as much as possible before they kick the bucket. Shameful.
Stay away.

I highly discourage business owners from contracting with YP.ca for any type of print or digital advertising. They are scam artists, who lie, don't return phone calls or live up to their commitment. If you get a call from * - run for the hills.

Yellow pages suck hard!
February 11, 2016

Customer service- horrible!
I tried to change my listing because we moved.
I was told that I couldn't make that change that my phone company needed to request it.
Wait... what?
I'm the customer though!
After arguing with them for 15 min they finally agreed to make the change.
It could take 24-48hrs he said.
So a week and a half later I searched my company name.
Still the wrong address!
Call them once again.
We have made the changes to our web site but we don't control Google so
It could take up to 3 weeks for them to change it.
Sooooo the service I was paying you for (dearly) isn't what I agreed to.
I was told that if I sign up with you when people search my company name I will pop up withing the first 5 links. Thats what she said! Sorry YP I'm not paying you 1 more cent!

I signed up with Yellow pages 6 months ago for my business as a mortgage brokerage. I was promised that I would see traffic and my investment would be very worthwhile. After 6 months I have not received any viable calls for business ( I have received calls from people trying to sell me something).

I asked to cancel my account twice and Yellow pages has said no, because I have a contract, and they say I'm obligated until the end of the contract. What about their obligation to me to deliver positive results?

I would NOT recommend anyone deal with Yellow pages as they appear to only want your money and really don't seem care if they deliver or not, or if you are an unhappy customer.

Yellow pages.ca are plain crooks. They constantly hassle you for advertising then when we agreed to view the details of some possible advertising. They automatically put our business online mind you all incorrect info and wrong business name and began invoicing us. when we called they said we agreed to the advertising and sent it to collections. Called the sales manager which said he would correct the problem. Take 2 weeks at a time everytime you leave him a message to respond and over 2 months still no resolution. This organization is a joke. DONT AGREE TO ANYThING not even to look over a possible advertising campaign they will bill you automatically.

The worst!
November 5, 2014

The worst! I signed up for a free online listing and was immediately contacted the next morning for paid advertising pitch. I agreed, and I fulfilled my end by submitting photos, keywords etc. and we were to follow up and confirm before launch. The confirmation didn't happen and after many emails on my end, I gave up and let it go. My site was not listed. Then after a couple of months, I signed up for the free online listing again. Nothing happened. All of a sudden, 3 months later I get an invoice for the initial contract! I go online to see if my site is there and the bare bones are there. Basically the free listing and my logo. I call yp, and get the run around that they will find a resolution and definitely get back to me that Friday. (they don't) I get a call the next morning though, from the initial sales girl (Priscilla) acting like she doesn't know what happened and would I resend my pictures? I tell her no, I'll wait for my resolution call. Then the next month, I get another invoice! I go online, and miraculously my photos are online! Coincidence? They've been there all long? Yah right. I call again, and finally get put through to the director's voicemail with a promise of a return call within 48hrs. Again, nothing. Sent an email to the business outlining my issues, and nothing. Luckily, I haven't spent a dime and I will not be. This is such a poor outfit. Oh forgot to mention, I received a call from 411.ca. After my call into a director of yellowpages. Shane specifically said he was not affiliated with yellowpages, but guess what? They are. My warning? Be careful what you sign up for! Still not resolved almost 6 months later... I'm sure my next invoice will be arriving soon.
