Customer service
March 7, 2017

I agreed with all the reviews on the service part, I sum them up as "BEYOND HORRIBLE" The customer service must be provided by a third party providers call center, person who answered the call has no clues on every questions were asked. WorldSIM need to get their acts together if the company wants to survive in this competitive industry.

I signed up for the WorldSim about a year ago when going for around the world trip. Except few little issues like not being able to receive a call even if your network was available I did not have any major problems until Feb 2017. The WorldSim has decided to change their terms and conditions for previously purchased sim cards. They didn't bother too much to inform their customers either no notification sms. Now one day out of the blue (Feb 2017) I got a bill 15$ for a 7 minutes incoming call which should have been previously free. At that time I did not know that there has been changes to terms and conditions so naturally I contacted WorldSim to see what's happened. After number of exchanged emails and month later there still wasn't a clear answer from WorldSim. Simply they said that I was charged correctly. So my conclusion is they will show you the rates as per today and you'll be happy using world sim wherever you go. However, one day they will change terms and conditions for your sim cards. I know it sounds surreal but it is like this. Now I am stacked on the other side of the world with basically none functional sim card which charges you 2$ per minute incoming call. You would not expect this type of behavior from a legitimate company...

SCAM
February 19, 2017

I purchased a dual sim reader in January. It would not work. Made repeated calls to the help line, finally someone answered but could not resolved the issue. Told me to return the item for a full refund. I emailed for further instructions, received an answer with mailing instructions. Other emails to the company were bounced back as no registered address. I followed the instructions and mailed the item back. That was the 31st of Jan. I received no response, and no refund. Again, I tried contacting the company with no response. Finally I went to PayPal for resolution and was able to communicate directly with the company. Basically I was told the Custom # I gave them was not a valid number, they could not track the package. I submitted the number to the Postal service in GB and immediately received a tracking and found the package had been delivered 2 1/2 weeks ago. So far no resolution. I turned it over to the PayPal resolution center.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT
February 1, 2017

Steer well clear of these guys!

I travel a lot between London and South Africa so this SIM card seemed ideal.

My virtual number has NEVER worked - the customer services team run me around in circles and i have spent £76 for nothing.

I rarely ever leave product reviews but in this case I just had to - it is the worst purchase I have made so far. You're better off buying a local sim and roaming with that!

I purchased a SIM card over the phone. I was very particular that I needed it delivered by a certain date because I was leaving for a month to travel internationally for business. I paid for overnight shipping. I received the UPS tracking email and saw that it had second day air as the shipping method with the estimated delivery date after I was going to leave. I called their customer service, was told they had shipped it overnight, and that the fault was UPS's. I demanded a refund of the shipping charges and was refused. I told them I no longer desired their product and wanted to return it, and was told I could return it for a refund as long as I did it within 14 days. I told him I was going to be out of the country for over 30, they did not care and would not do anything to help me. Anytime I try and call customer service now, I get disconnected. I tried from other phones (different numbers and carriers) and the same result, disconnected before you are able to talk to a human. Terrible company, terrible service.

Absolutely terrible product
December 25, 2016

I have used the World SIM before. It was great product but over last 3 years, the customer service has gone missing, I can not get any support. My old sim card does not work any more so I bought an upgrade one. It never worked. The credit has gone without using it. I have tried to contact the customer service, could not get through despite from any of listed number.
This is terrible product, I would not recommend any one to buy it. There are so many wonderful products around the world, WORLD SIM, you had shined once but you have lost me completely, not a happy customer at all

I have been a long standing customer, over 2 years in fact. After receiving my "new improved" sim I have had nothing but problems. The sim connects to the correct networks but can neither send or receive any calls. Average waiting times calling support can be very very long and despite it being advertised as a 24/7 service, even calling at early or very late times will result in a wait that is simply unacceptable, often up to an hour. Pressing 5 after holding for 45 minutes will result in you being told that their mailbox cannot hold any more messages and you will be disconnected and back to the start again. Submitting an email or online support request goes unanswered. If you do get support I can guarantee that you will be told that they will send you an email with full instructions on how to resolve your issue. The email either does not arrive or is for a totally unrelated issue. Simply being told to take the sim out and turn it off for 10 minutes is just like saying "get off the phone".

For this company to be continuing to advertise and sell products in the places they do is just fraud. They don't call back, don't answer email, are dismissive of your problems and are quite frankly a joke. I am fed up with them. Stay well clear, the products don't work, properly and more importantly the support is atrocious.

I am currently working in Congo, it's almost Christmas 2016 and I cannot be contacted or contact my family other than when in my hotel online. Disgraceful service. No doubt you will soon read below their standard response asking for my world sim number and that they will sort this. They won't. STAY CLEAR OF WORLDSIM.

Avoid at all costs
November 28, 2016

I bought a sim card and data package from WorldSim about two weeks before my trip. I finally got the sim card two days before I was supposed to leave but was unable to get my phone to recognize the card. After about 10 phone calls to customer service, I was finally able to convince WorldSim that the sim card was defective. Instead of refunding me the cost of the sim card and the data package, they "graciously" (their words) agreed to give me a refund for the sim card, which was free. They refused to refund the cost of the data package, which cost $100, even though it was absolutely useless to me without my having a functioning sim card on my trip. I can't emphasize enough how utterly dishonest these people are. Do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs.

Doesn't work
November 16, 2016

During my recent trip to Europe I spent a lot of my vacation time trying to get this up and working with little success. I tried a non-Worldsim card in the device as well. No success. Talked at my expense from Europe with Worldsim customer support and they were not successful either. I've asked for a re-fund and Worldsim is now considering whether it will do the re-fund or not.

World Sim attempted to contact me to help solve my issue however it took them 14 days to respond to an email I sent the very next day. They didn't even respond to any matters in the actual email they responded with the exact same email saying they were sorry and wanted to fix, if I would please provide my details to which I did!

SO then why are you asking me for the same thing again World Sim - do you not keep an email record of what you are sending to your clients so that you may actually solve the issue>!

Not recommended Worldsim
October 11, 2016

Please read below my last email to Worldsim helpdesk after long conversation. Sent on 21st Sept, no reply since.

Dear Mafel,

Unfortunately i couldn't manage to have internet and i gave it up after one week as i didnt want to spend my holiday with being frustrated why iPass is not working. As you can see in the attached screenshot with good signal, iPass compatibility networks, the connection didnt happen. Finally i just ordered daily roaming data to my uae local sim.

I used an international worldsim card also for a few calls, but the call rates are far from what you are mentioning on your website. ( website says 0.9 usd from singapre to uae, but reality it was 1.37 when i made a call). The roaming calls with my uae local sim card was only 0.8 usd. ( not talking about the 'reduce roaming charges by up to 95%' slogan)

I purchased my worldsim products with high expectations, spending a lot of money for it ( 2 int sim cards /w credit, portable wifi and global wifi) but at the end they didnt support me during my travel.
Im really sorry, but im not satisfied at all with worldsim services, i will never use it again and will never recommend to anyone.

Thank you,
Beata Mohacsi

Several WS customer service representatives have told me that my US # changes every 60 days. If I want to keep the number from rotating, I have to buy a virtual number. Considering I already pay a monthly service fee, I find this unacceptable. If you live in the US, and to have US calls forwarded to your worldSIM card, you are in doo-doo if you happen to away from home and the default changes while you are gone.

Why is this important? Call forwarding doesn't work outside the dialing system. EG, in the US, our system covers North America, much of Central America, and the Caribbean. It does not cove Europe or most the rest of the world. If you were dialing, you might dial +country code... to call someone overseas, but you cannot use the "+" or the "011" to indicate a call outside the system. So you are hosed. Put another way: I can have my normal cell service forward calls to my US #, but not my UK#. This lets people in the US call me without extra charges. (World SIM: no charge or reduced charge for incoming calls).

I've a second issue going on right now, but am letting customer service try to fix it. But this switch every 60 days of my US # is a huge negative.

Brazil service not so Mardi Gras
October 4, 2016

I've tried contacting your team to explain that TIM BRA is selected on the phone as per instructions and your website. I'm still being charged for inbound calls. They tell me now I have to change to TNL PCS S. A which is not available in the area. Seems like things have changed when your system was upgraded in FEB this year. I'm constantly getting emails to update my SIM card which I thought it was what I purchased. I have now spent close $500 and will need to top again this week even after the generous $5 credit offer from your office.

OK, but...
October 2, 2016

It all works well, but what is really unpleasant is that the warning you are almost out of credit is only sent to you when you have just a few cents left. Immediate action becomes necessary. I found this to be disruptive.

Then, when coming home, I compared the cost I incurred with this product with what I would have paid to my regular provider had I kept my own SIM-card. The difference was negligible.

So next time, I just stick to what I have...
