Below is an email ( and a review on Trustpilot that TP removed) that I sent to WorldRemit.
I have sent well over 12 emails to them (inc to Compliance Officer, Philip Doyle (no response).
I just had an email from WR saying they have suspended my account---no reason given.
I urge you to look at my email to them and tell me if they need to be shut down, as they are nothing but thieves.
I have been with them for 10 years without any problem until this year.
They have treated me like a criminal---and others also, if reviews here are anything to go by.
This was my my latest email to them:
WHY HAVE YOU STOLEN MY MONEY?.
I cancelled a £1-45 transaction to the Philippines on Dec 8th immediately after I saw it being "reviewed".
It was and STILL IS at the "processing" stage---and I cancelled it at least four times.
I have been with you for 10 yrs, and I have written statements from you saying that I am a "valued customer" and "when am I going to make my next transaction" etc.
You KNOW there is no problem with my recipients after 10 yrs and over £30,000 worth of transactions.
They are very close friends who I know extremely well.
My recipients have been basically the same for the 10 years--with no problems whatsover until this year.
You are now asking for extremely personal information as to WHEN and HOW I met my recipients as well as other personal information about them.
""""Proof of Relationship to the Beneficiaries - Please provide details of when and how you met each of your beneficiaries and provide proof of relationship (e.g., beneficiary's valid identification card or passport stamps confirming travels to the country you are sending to)."""
"Confirming travels to the country you are sending to"?... What does THAT mean?.
You are also asking me to provide THEIR ID!
THEY provide THEIR ID to the teller when they collect money.
How you expect me to have their ID is beyond me.
You are grossly mis-using any so called "powers" that you have as regards personal information.
All you need to know is my information and the recipients name, location and number.
THEIR ID is taken care of in their country.
You can talk about new "regulations" until the cows come home---but what you are asking me about my recipients is on a par with asking about my medical records etc----IT IS ILLEGAL AND AN ABUSE.
Send me my money please----along with compensation for the stress you have put me under after sending you at least 12 emails, with "promises" that you will contact me and resolve the matter.
YOU HAVE STOLEN £1-45 ( the amount is irrelevant).
Can you please send it to Philippines from USA to my family and relatives thank you so much
Regarding Ramon Castillo tinimbang
Worldremit means service failure. They are liars & incompetent.
Their so-called verification process is a joke: they have been messing around for 6 days requesting the same documents (passport & ID) several times. While they were wasting my time, I made a transfer to the Philippines with Remitly & the money was received in less than 15 minutes. Just AVOID worldremit and use
Any other similar company. No-one can be worse than worldremit.
I decided to send money to my wife in Colombia ( for urgent medical reasons)
After 5 days the transaction was never made and worldremit doesn't cancel or refund me my money ( 150 euros) using the same excuses. Stay away!
I am a web developer and with clients across the globe. On the 30th of January 2022, I asked my client to pay me through world remit since the wire transfer from her bank Regions Bank in the US to my Bank GTBank was not working. She asked me if I was sure of the company since she had never done any cross-border transactions outside the United States. I assured her that it was a reliable company. She proceeded and transferred the fund $2000 (screenshot link). After several days the money failed drop. The sent her messages of delay and technical issues (screenshot link:)
They canceled the transaction after about 15 days of waiting and said she would get a refund in 7 days. (See screenshot) its now 1 year and 7 months no refund. After so many calls to support with no response. We reached out to the CEO Ismail and some other staff on LinkedIn they blanked and blocked her. The World Remit Support on Facebook apologized for the delay and said the refund was processed since the 5th of February 2022 that she will be notified via email for further updates ( see screenshot:) and this was the last we heard from them. They stopped picking up calls or responding to support messages.
We going to do a video together exposing this company. It's a scam and if you think you are going to scam me of my hard-earned money. Think again because I am gonna be publishing videos of your scam every week on all social platforms.
I registered last week, made a transfer and they lost it. Refusing to refund. Do not use this company.
It is impossible to wade through your website and get anything done. 6 months ago your site was good and easy to use. Now, I can't figure out how to ship to a person I have been helping for over a year. Take your website back to the way it was and I might use your site again.
Phone World remit couple of time and waited over an hour still no answer. Just wanted to verify why my receiver didn't get the money. Out to their online chat, they disconnected after few minutes. Very bad experience.
Very unreliable and poor Customer service. I have two transactions that are still pending for the last couple of months. I have been trying to collect my money back in dollars and it's $3000 or have it transferred to my country's account as initially requested. Their customer service agents are trained to lie to their customers by giving them false hopes. My next best choice is to report them as scammers to the authorities.
The app leads to deduction of money from the bank account, but transaction does not show up. Customer service is impossible to connect. Waiting time keeps fluctuating. Even chat has waiting time of 20 minutes. No call back option
Promo codes never work, and customer service stinks. There's an impenetrable firewall between you and the humans at world remit. No chat function, no email contact, and the phone number has a plus "one hour ## seconds" wait before someone answers. Been on hold for 24 minutes and 47 seconds and the wait time is increasing! I'm done with these idiots.
THEY SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS! Useless douche bags! Waited 6 days and no transfer, but they were quick to take it from my account in seconds! Wait times to get help over an hour always! They are rude and condescending over the phone and hang up on you when you call them out on it and ask for professionalism! 6 days waiting and its supposed to be 1 day According to their advertising. Another 2 to 6 days to refund.
I use world remit every month and have never had an issue, until now. I did a transfer on the 29th of September using the same reference i use every month and the transfer hasnt been done, theres no online chat and i have tried calling 3 times to speak to a consultant and the wait times are awful.
This really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
They really need an online chat to deal with customer queries.
World remit please contact me to resolve my payment issue and please activate an online chat help function so that your customers can be helped on time.
If my money isnt paid or refunded ill be opening a fraud case.
Hi,
WorldRemit closed my online account for no apparent reason. Their excuse is that their Security system was uncomfortable processing my last transaction. While unable to give me specifics details when and where the last transaction was made. While insisting that I proceed with future transactions in store. The last transaction I know I made was in store. Which means that my online account got closed due to me making an in-store transaction. While they insist, I make any future transaction in store. Unable to provide details for closing my account other than security reasons, no details on what raise the red flag when I sent money to my wife in store using WorldRemit. I'll stop using WorldRemit and I'll recommend Western Union, Wise, PayPal... but never WorldRemit...
Looking at the type of behavior, I don't even feel like contacting customer service as mentioned as I see the whole situation as part of a scam. Today, after they requested all my personal information (including photographs of identification documents), and after verifying my account and collecting the amount from my bank, Worldremit sent me the attached email canceling the transaction and my account without providing a single specific explanation. I believe it's the first time in my life being treated like this. I see absolutely no reason to be involved in issues as I have had no problems whatsoever with any transactions. Unfortunately, I listened to a friend who recommended this service to me because it was more economical. On the other side, I have a very disappointed recipient who was relying on the process and expected the promised amount within the time frame. Now I have no choice but to pray that they actually refund the amount I sent. Please stay away from WorldRemit.
Clever buggers. Whip your money out and sit on the transfer for a week. NO communication at all. Cant get hold of them.
The first transfer to an African country went alright(ISH). I had to upload pictures of my ID etc. Then, after a week or so, I started the next transfer and was asked to upload my ID again. So I did. Then at the third transfer, again I was prompted for my ID. I cancelled the procedure. At the next log in a free weeks later it wouldn't accept my password which I had thoroughly noted down. Always wrong, so I clicked on "new password", got the link clicked it, entered new PW. Log in "wrong PW". Now I pray every night that their bankruptcy may come very soon. I don't want to waste my time an health on websites like this one.
The problem with world remit is getting worse by the day, you send money it doesn't arrive, you call no one answer your phone. Yet when you want to do another transaction they are ready to take your money, they should close up shop and stop frustrating their clients, it is the lost time I will ever use it
They took the money from my bank account on September 7 and still I have no idea where it is. There is no way to contact them to find out.
They're nothing but common thieves!
WorldRemit has stolen 6000 USD from me and refuses to provide any help whatsoever! I am opening a case with the Belgian central bank.
They refuse to offer any assistance and in their portal they are falsely stating that 'Local partner is processing the transfer' which is nothing but a big fat lie! Their local partner refuses that they have received any information at all regarding this payment from WorldRemit.
I am not homeless and have no money for rent! I am loaning cash from everyone i now to stay in cockroach-infested motelrooms.
