This company is fraudulent and it is scamming people. Please don't use it. Don't go to the business, who use this company. Any business who use this company for financing is part of the problem too. There should be criminal case against them. I can't believe they are allowed to do business like this. This is a criminal company. I can't call it mis-information when they are doing it intentionally. That is criminal when you do it, because you know vulnerable people will fall for it.

Beware of these SCAMMRS!

I purchased a shed through the sears.com and used their option for lease to pay within 90 days. But, their website misrepresented the shed quality and charging 1800 for a paper thin plastic shed that came to me with damaged boxes from the shipper. I requested a return as this was clearly not quality that sears used to sell, and tempoe, sears, and their online reseller, builderdepot are screwing me over and not honoring the return request as they label it as buyer remorse. Now my wife is getting the run around after i've spent literally 20 hours on chats and calls trying to get this returned since 9/8/2020. I am livid! Previously opened package arrives still partially open and taped shut by whoever had it before me. Not acceptable at all. TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM ALL 3 PARTIES INVOLVED! The pix are of the way the boxes came. I could see the cheap paper-thin plastic through the openings, thus triggering the request for a return that they keep jerking me around about for a month now.

Horrible

I bought a refrigerator that started breaking immediately after purchasing it, It freezes my food and started breaking a week after I bought it. Sears has gone down hill. They don't even cover repairs on a lease. I'm stuck with this crappy product that doesn't work properly.
Never again.

This is a total rip off, they tell you, you have to make 5 monthly payments. None of these are credited to the purchase price, and you can only cancel; after they have taken 5 months worth of payments from you. Than you have a option to buy it for MORE than the price it was sold for. Its no wonder Sears is going bankrupt, all the Sears stores in my hometown have failed. It used to be a store and a brand you could trust. NO MORE. I will never set foot in a Sears store again.

HORRIBLE

Paid off account for a mattress, box spring, head board, foot board, rails and dresser with these people in 2014, never received anything from them, after being told I would. Now here it is 2020 and they are taking payments from my husbands bank account. NEVER AGAIN!

I bought a washer and dry for 1200 and a year later they are still taking payments that does not go towards my balance. So basically I paid double. They have really got over. I had to pay 600 bucks to close my freaking account. They are a freaking trash $#*! company.

I have to say I HAVE NEVER, EVER DEALT WITH A BIGGER "FLY BY NIGHT, TOTALLY SCREW YA" COMPANY AS THIS! IT JAS MANY FRONT NAMES! A. K. A. ELECTRO FINANCE, AKA TEMPOE, AKA WHY NOT LEASE IT! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN AS SOON AS THEY REJECTED MY DEBIT CARD FOR DOWN PAYMENT AND THEY STATED "WE ONLY USE CREDIT CARDS" THE DAY I WENT TO BEST BUY TO GET MY PURCHASE, I SHOWED THE CASHIER THE PAPERS I WAS TOLD TO PRINT "TO PICK IP MY ORDER" THEY INFORMED ME I NEEDED TO CALL MY BANK AND CREDIT CARD COMPANY INSTANTLY AS THIS WAS A FRAUDULENT TRANSACTION! THEY SAID THEY HAD DEALT WITH MANY PEOPLE THAT HAD BEEN SCREWED BY THIS COMPANY! THEIR TRICK IS, THEY CANCEL THE ORDER LITERALLY 20MINS. AFTER YOU PAY 50 BUCK PROCESSING FEE, AND DOWN PAYMENT! THESE TOOLS WILL CONTINUE TO TRY AND BILL YOUR CARD EVEN IF YOU LOCK EM BECAUSE THEY HAVE AT LEAST 3 "FRONT NAMES" 1. ELECTRO FINANCE 2. TEMPOE 3. WHY NOT LEASE IT! SO BE AWARE!

Chaos

I purchased a living room set and was given a delivery date. Due to Covid 19 they said they had delays with deliveries. I received a second delivery date and was told my furniture would be delivered on a certain day and had to take the entire day off because they couldn't tell me a time frame. I was also told I would receive a call 24hrs before the delivery to confirm. The day came and I heard from no one. I called them to get info and was told they couldn't provide any info. I was transferred from rep to rep -department to department and still could not get any information on who I needed to speak with or to get a delivery date I took the day off and called again bc now it's afternoon and still nothing. They then told me my order was cancelled and couldn't deliver due to Covid 19. I said ok and was told I would get a refund for my down payment. Here it is 30 days later and now i'm fighting for my refund. I've spoken with 4 diff reps and was told each time they would resubmit the refund and still have not received my refund yet. I'm at my wits end. I advise no one to order from them at all not only because of their rates -taking payments past the purchase prices and the amount they charge for their items. Total rip off. I've reported them to every agency I can find to get my money back. I just want to be done with this completely.

I was able to purchase a desperately needed washer and dryer from Sears, thanks to WhyNotLeaseIt. I had no issues thus far and paid off the lease within the 90 days. I totally understood that it was going to be a lot more money if I did not pay it off in the 90 days and I made sure it was paid and I called them at the number on my contract. I had no issues getting through and spoke with a very nice customer service agent that was most likely not in this country, cut I could understand her and she was polite and I will definately be using their services again!

This company is not trustworthy. I purchased my item (a trampoline) on July 3,2020 for the purchase price as stated in my customer portal online. On July 10,2020 I see a payment pending where they debited my account for a monthly payment, after I had already paid them the purchase price. Now, I've called them twice and Reps tell me they will speak to their manager about possibly refunding my money. I've also contacted my bank & reported the transaction for investigation & changed my debit card, as I do not trust them to stop debiting my account AFTER I've already paid the purchase price. This should NOT happen.

We purchased a washer and dryer in January... we made our payments, then the Covid thing hit one payment shy of our 90 day buy out.
They stopped taking payments... I tried to pay online but couldn't.
My wife called and was told they'd stopped taking payments during the pandemic, as a courtesy... we asked about the 90 day pay off option since it had passed, but was never offered.
"Donna" said she would see if they could still honor it.
She eventually said YES, and gave us a total of $548... we paid it, on the phone with her. She said we would receive an email and receipt of paid in full within 5-7 days.
After almost 2 weeks and our account showing the amount and date we paid, but continued to show "scheduled payments", we called back.
Explained the situation, got credit union print out showing "Tempoe" and the amount paid. This guy said he could see where it was paid, but not "finalized" yet, and assured us, another 5-7 days it would be resolved.
Again, 2 weeks later, still nothing. Another call, another person... explain the situation, they "see the payment" but its not finalized yet... Same story, 5-7 days... that was 10 days ago... STILL no receipt showing we paid the merchandise off!
I'm about over the lack of communication and getting this done!

Aside from this, we had a good experience...

ALSO KNOWN AS TEMPOE THIS COMPANY IS SHADY AS F***! THEY KEEP MAKING UNAUTHORIZED PAYMENTS ON MY ACCOUNT AFTER I CALLED AND TOLD THEM THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZE TO AND I REMOVED MY ACCOUNT INFORMATION. NOW THEY'RE TELLING ME I CAN'T CALL TO REMOVE IT AND I HAVE TO SEND A LETTER AND IT'LL TAKE 15 DAYS AFTER THAT TO BE REMOVED. THEY ARE DENYING MY RETURN. ALSO, AFTER FIVE MONTHS, YOU ARE NOT DONE PAYING YOUR ITEM AS STATED ON THE LEASE, YOU'RE STILL GETTING CHARGED AFTER THE FIVE MONTHS THEREFORE PAYING THREE-FOUR TIMES WHAT THE ITEM IS ACTUALLY WORTH. DO NOT USE THEM!

This is the worst just dont do it... You will regret it... There lease has hidden agenda they will make you pay for merchandise that you no longer have they will turn your account over to collection and it cheaper to just pay them off instead of going to court if it's less than 1,000 stay away

I was skeptical with using "Why not lease it" because of all the negative reviews. It seems that most people are wanting to buy the items and thinking that the lease option is a lease to own. When participating with this lease option, it is more like leasing a car. You are leasing the items not buying. There are early purchase options (which is what I did). To purchase the items, there is an upcharge. If you do not elect to purchase the item, you will be leasing forever which is why many reviews state that even after they paid the cost of the item, they were still being charged. Hope this review clears up the confusion. I called and informed the rep that I wanted to purchase the item and I paid off my items before 30 days. I was not charged any further.

Company is horrible doesnt let you buy out or cancel lewsw I sent letters and had to change my debit card number because they kept charging my account and wouldn't accept my cancellation. Told me to call sears to cancel Sears said they no longer have the lease. Stay away from this company.

COMPLETE CHOAS!

I paid my account off but they keep taking money. Their payments records don't match what my bank has nor what they have on the customer portal. No communication whatsoever, get a different story every time you call but yet they keep taking money out and they say they sent a refund but NEVER got it. Stay away!
