Terrible customer service. Fail! Lost 145 dollars and there's no way to get it back. They don't care and the only way to request a refund is by mail or their cheap site, none of which expedite the 30 day lag and the fact someone will spend by the time they process your request.

I sent a money transfer and realized there was a typo that prevented the receiver from picking up the money. I immediately calcelled that and did another one that worked, eventually. Now try to get your money back from them! They have promised at least 6 times that I will get my money in no more that 7 days. Now it's over 40 days and all I hear is more promises. I wonder if I will ever see it! Time to call again to complain, and hear more worthless promises. I would give 0 stars if it was an option.
They owe me $1200. It went out of my ANZ bank account and Western Union is saying they have not received it. My ANZ bank have confirmed with me it has gone to them and it says so on my bank statement. I have called them 15 - 20 times. They cannot problem solve. They cannot speak English well. They talk about some back office whom they have no contact with. I still dont have my $1200. They wont give it back as they said they never got it which is a lie. Now I have to email them my bank statements. They ARE THE WORST. DO NOT USE THEM.
Western union used to be my favorite but now my most hated company. Sending money is like walking through hell. Learn from money gram and world remit. They wanted me to download my ID then won't let me send $500 to Italy. I went to money gram and it only took 5 minutes to do that, I got a text to confirm on my phone and from my bank. I will never use them again.

I decided to send monies through Western Union you know quick fast money transfer right. Well initial I thought well if I could do it online I wouldn't need to leave my house so I did fairly easy and money sent, great. The experience was so convenient and smooth that I attempted another transfer well this is where everything became problematic. So I reached out to customer service and this is where I quickly learned when people who are supposedly hired to help but don't wanna be bothered are contacted it's a problem. The entire process the individual was rude, unprofessional and spoke with a accent ( so difficult to understand) I ended my exchange with her telling me I have to go to the location and I could use my card there after driving twenty minutes I was quickly told I could not use my card. So my position avoid this company at all cost this was WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!
I am trying to complete online transfer over one week using my bank account with no success. It is not my first time to do so. I have called the customer services twice to resolve the issue and I have been told, there is technical issues with Western union that will be cleared in two days. However, the issue is still exist. I do understand that it was my fault not to check the spelling, but it us ridiculous that I couldn't fix the spelling later! Like it's possible to correct receiver's name, but NO WAY to fix ONE LETTER in receiver's address?
Had to cancel my transfer. But instead of sending it through WU again used moneygram who's fees are 50% less, and delivery is made in minutes instead of 4 business days.
I did transfer money to my MOM by western union in publix store in Florida, they ask me about my phone number to pull my account, In two day western union send confirmation text to my phone contact telling them all my private information included how much i transfer and my MOM name ad all information regarding to my transferring the money, i called them to let them know that your system hacked my phone and texting my information to my contact people, Just be carfull guys western union is a careless company when it comes to your privacy
I've been trying to collect money in the last 3 days and tried different branches. They all said that the western union system was down and that I couldn't collect the money.
When contacting them via phone, the lady had no clue whatsoever about this outage and said to me: "Ask them to call IT to sort it out". Really?

I have spent hours on hold and speaking to different agents on the phone and via chats to try to get a wire off hold and refunded. We thought Western Union was a reputable company but they are NOT! I tried to wire money to a friend, but they would not release it from a hold (even though they said it was released several times). Then when I cancelled it, they said it would take 7 - 10 days to see it. It has been 3 weeks and I still cannot talk to the correct department because the agents say they don't have a phone extension. Still no refund. It is $1,000.00 they will not return. Don't EVER use this company!
Worst customer service, I went twice to a Western Union location to pickup some cash from 2 different recipients on 2 different days, for some reason the transaction was canceled and the teller at the window was not even able to provide a valid reason to why it was rejected. I'm using MoneyGram now and no issues at all.
I had an emergency situation where I needed to send $100 USD to a friend presently in the Philipines. WU decided they had to 'protect consumers' and cancelled the transfer. Three calls to their customer service center were totally unproductive... they were still freezing (and eventually cancelled) the transaction. I was finally able succeed in sending my friend the needed funds through PAYPAL, which took less than 10 minutes and the funds were available to my friend 3 minutes later. I've been a regular user of Western Union for years but today will mark the last day to EVER use Western Union again. Oh, and PayPal handled it with no fees to me or the receceiver on the other end. Let me repeat: NO FEES! Won't find that at WU either I'd bet.
