WeightWatchers Reviews Summary

The company enjoys a long-standing reputation for its weight management programs, with some customers appreciating the app's functionality and ease of use. However, a significant number of reviews highlight persistent issues with customer service, particularly regarding billing practices and the difficulty of canceling memberships. Many customers express frustration over unexpected charges and a lack of transparency in subscription terms. Additionally, the frequent changes to the program structure are seen as detrimental, especially for those with specific dietary needs. Overall, while the brand has loyal followers, it faces considerable challenges in customer satisfaction and service reliability.

I ordered 3 boxes of chocolate swirl candy bar, I gotta tell you they are delicious! Got 1 box fine. Ordered 3 more all melted in the wrapper. These are not cheap. Called ww customer service and got a nice lady who was a little bit demeaning at the end of the call trying to get my money back. I said to her 8.99 is not cheap for small candy bars. She said "you got them for 3/$15" Really? And there is a disclaimer if chocolate is melted there is nothing we can do if you live in a warm climate. ( live in Buffalo N.Y it was 30 degrees when they came) She also said when they leave Tennessee its on me basically.Could this is where they melt? Alot of complaints about this. Maybe throw a cold pack in there to deliver a quality product? I ended up getting a 20% off coupon which did not cover the cost. So WW does not back up their products. Beware ordering chocolate! Your stuck with it if it is melted! Wow unbelievable WW. I really liked your company and these Chocolate bars helped me lose weight. Disappointed in your customer service!

Horrible customer service! Don't do it!
April 25, 2023

Horrible customer service. Called because I wanted to cancel my membership after trying it for the 4th time with no success and they said we can cancel it but I'm obligated to pay for the next 10 months. After explaining as a previous member, there were no lengthy contracts and I wasn't aware they basically said too bad. Never again and the diet sucks anyways with all the tracking. There are plenty of free apps that do that. Save your money and sanity, you get nowhere with customer service…

Scam
April 25, 2023

Would give 0 stars if possible. Saw a 3 months for $5 ad, got charged $15. After one month with no weight loss, the app turned off so I cancelled my subscription. Found out i got charged for 2 more months. When I called to complain and request a refund for the past 2 months WW refused to do anything about it

I initially joined WW a few years ago and lost 40 lbs. I regained 10 lbs and decided to rejoin. The program is great--the app sucks. I constantly have problems with it tracking my Fitbit. I would give it a better rating, but the app leaves much to be desired.

Your rebrand fools exactly no one. What would be exciting is if you actually examined and took responsibility for the diet culture you've been peddling for decades, which is only making our world a more disordered and superficial place. Do better.

This company is a total fraud, scam, whatever you want to call it. I tried canceling because their point system did not make sense to me, for several months told them I was not interested, however, they continued to charge me. They told me I was obligated for a year because they gave me a 3 day period to decide and that was their terms. That is absurd! You don't even see results in 3 days. Don't give them your bank information or it will become a nightmare!

If u sign up for a membership and u forget to cancel, they keep charging you and never send u a bill, so u do not event notice u are being charged. When u call to find out they just say that u signed up for that. Be very careful...

Very greedy vibes they just want your money no one really care about you or your personal goals.i signed up for a 3 months « commitment « I found it is less from the first week and wanted to cancel to safe my money. They charge about $50 for early cancelation. I read about the company scam and plan that abuse minors and find it absurd.

I was alerted that they program was being simplified IE. No free carbs anymore. I CALL SCAM! Basically they have taken my money, and said eat all the brown rice, quinoa and wheat pasta you want and you can still lose weight, but oh that didn't work so we are going to simplify it. Surprised KETO is coming after you because it is the exact same as KETO now--meat, veggies, fruit and a small allowance of everything else. I'm ok with the diet, just not ok that you took my money for 2 years while I struggled and now call it simplification--CALL IT WHAT IT IS ---A SCAM

Personal Agony
October 24, 2022

Joined the new personal point program and found it to be too tedious with very little results. When I did smart points(green plan), I lost 1-2 pounds a week. This new plan I was told has a slower weight loss, causing you to stay longer and pay more money. I went back to the green plan smart points plan and lost weight again. Everything is now tied to your phone app and I always ate healthy foods on smart points, but now they are giving you points for eating a healthy vegetable and activity, which I always did also. Any recipes have to be found on the phone and the new plan is not sustainable. I only regret paying the money up front. Never again.

Although, the program in itself was a good program, it worked somewhat by putting me on the right track.
I wanted to try something I could maintain after the initial program ended rather than using unknow chemicals or buying prepaid meals. However, for eveything good with the program I can't help but mention also what I found to be the opposite. Namely, the failure to notify the clients about the AUTO RENEWAL when their contract is coming to an end, I feel as WW should make a greater effort in pointing out the AUTO-RENEWEL feature attached to the contract. Everyone should be able to make their own decisions regarding whether or not to extend their contract. Beware, when you sign up to make sure the AUTO-RENWEL BOX IS NOT CHECKED otherwise you may lose money you can not recover...

Was being the operative word. Have had great success in the past. Life happened with covid and the loss of 3 family members. Have read about many changes since Oprah became involved. Some ok, some bad. The challenge of canceling is a nightmare. The online workshops are not a great thing. But, when considering to give it another chance when signing up the question of what sex you were assigned at birth really left me appalled. No thanks WW.

I would give a negative star of I could. Do not sign up for anything or buy anything from weight watchers they will lock you into something and charge you monthly without ever using it! I could not get out of the so called contract I was snuck into and they refused to refund me! Had to cancel my card and get a new one to stop them from stealing my money every month! BEWARE!

Money Money Money

Claims to focus on "building healthy habits" as opposed to weight loss but let's be real... I track calories as well and the point system had me eating 1200-1500 calories a day. That's pretty extreme for me, who is 6'0,200lbs. And 20 y/o. For reference, with exercise, I lose weight on 2100cal. So I felt like I was starving grr. You may lose weight, but that's just not sustainable in the long term, your metabolism will slow down and you will plateau, trust me, that is exactly what happened to me and it's hard to come back from without regaining at least some of the weight you worked so hard to lose.

The biggest problem though? This app should be free! It is ridiculous to have a $22 monthly subscription to this app, you could get the same results with a notebook and a Facebook group. Have fun jumping through hoops trying to cancel it for an outrageous fee. (Mine was $42).

Lifesum is the tracker app I've used for 5 years, (I've lost 60lbs. With it) it's 100% free unless you want to upgrade to premium (which is not necessary) and it's WAY cheaper than this starvation fuel. You can set your own calorie and macro goals (Do your research on what's best for you) or follow one of their meal plans.

My best advice if you're trying to lose weight or just be more healthy: exercise! It will be easier to hit a calorie deficit and you won't feel like you're being calorie restricted if you eat healthy/normal and have a sweaty workout daily. It also is a great mood booster and generally makes your life so much better in my experience. Do something you enjoy, you don't have to be at the gym to have a hard workout, I lost most of my weight during the pandemic by Just Dance-ing at home lol.

Scam
July 28, 2022

Weightwatchers is a scam. They sneak you into a trial then tell you it's a long membership you can't cancel. Don't get fooled, if you want to lose weight hire a local dietician instead of some giant scam company that you can't deal with face to face.

Weight Watchers will tell you that you can eat what you want and still lose weight - and they're right, as long as you like vegetables. When I ate only food I liked, I was out of Points by lunch time. Their plan used to really focus only on weight loss, and let you lose weight by really eating anything. Now they are just one more plan that tells you to eat healthy food and exercise. You don't need to pay anyone for that advice.
