Excessive shipping prices are what you get as they make up the profit the "lost" when giving you a deal on their items here! Wow! It seems that there are those in agreement with me about the excessive shipping costs! Look at the other reviews! Are you all trying to save the flailing post office all by yourselves?
I ordered a dough sheeter for my business on October the 31rst. The site says 2 - 4 days shipping. When 30 days went by and I had not received the machine I complained. They hurriedly placed some language on the bottom of the page that says because the item is not in their warehouse that could delay delivery. That language appeared AFTER I started to complain. And none of the customer service reps quoted this new policy that suddenly appeared The customer service reps are full of apologies but not solutions. At this point I have no idea when I can expect this equipment Buyer beware with Webstaurant!

I got a turkey fryer kit after Thanksgiving. I received it and wrapped it for Christmas.
When my husband opened it on Christmas day, the pot was damaged.
I emailed them.
I was asked to send them photos and I did.
Even it was my fault not checking the contents immediately, the new shipment is already on the way.

Beware of ordering from WebstaurantStore if you live outside of the US. The company's website says that they will contact you to obtain brokerage info BEFORE shipping your order. They don't actually contact you, and then you're forced to pay the brokerage and administrative fees to their preferred shipping company (FedEx). And if they happen to ship your order in multiple shipments, without notifying you first, then you have the privilege of paying these fees TWICE. Don't bother trying to speak with their "customer service" agents either. In their case, the customer is never right!

Ordered ground shipping for about $100 worth of food (after shipping it was a bit under $160) on Dec 10th. I never was given any tracking information on the food order. 6 business days later I got nothing and was told after I made them look into it they had sent my food to the wrong place and would of never told me anything unless I had made it my mission. The customer service agent asked if I would rather have the money refunded or the food still shipped but before I even opened that email of her asking me they shipped my food anyway. Why they didn't do 1 day rushed shipment to make up for their error I don't know. But I know I couldn't get my order refunded until they stopped the delivery, get it sent back and told me 3 business days. I told them forget it ill wait for the food then. It's am on day 8 expecting my food in two more days hopefully. I wasn't offered any store credit or anything for their error.
My faith, trust and confidence in this business is lost. They did not give me tracking info, they gave my order to someone else, they didn't communicate with me, they made decisions without me and didn't even bother rush shipping the order they owed me. My business will not be coming back, if I wanted slow and dishonest delivery I'd orider from eBay.

I ordered a set of sternos as a Christmas gift. I specified in the notes of my confirmation order page that it was important the box was not marked as to what was inside since I wanted it to be a surprise. I received an email from the company that they received my note and would send a blind shipping. I then came home from work five days later and saw three boxes on my doorstep with pictures of the product on the outside of it and to make matters worse the person who I bought it for was home when it was delivered so the surprise was ruined. Not only that I called the customer service line upset and explained to them why. The representative was not helpful and refused to let me speak to a supervisor. She stated that she could refund me the money for the products if I wanted to return them but only after they charged me a 30% restocking fee! I will never order from this company again. It was my first and my last time. Run or hope you never have to return an item!

Some items we carry are packaged in such a way that they can be shipped safely without external packaging. The email that was initially sent was letting you know that the shipment was being sent "blind", meaning with no packing list or pricing included.

Ordered an Excalibur dehydrator for $189 and had to initiate a return because it was large for my home. Webstaurant wants to charge a 30% restocking fee plus $23 return shipping fee. The manufacturer (Excalibur) charges a 15% restocking fee and the item is going directly back to them bypassing Webstaurant altogether. Webstaurant claims they have to charge 30% for online returns to keep prices down.
The fact of the matter is Webstaurant is actually making a profit on selling items and making a profit on returns as well.
Look to get your items elsewhere.

When you buy from a company that has no restocking fees, you pay for returns that the company handles, indirectly, through higher prices. There are a lot of costs associated with processing an order, as well as returning an order. The 15% restocking fee from the manufacturer is assessed directly to WebstaurantStore and does not include any costs associated with our customer service or processes required to set up the return. Most companies do build it into their initial pricing, but we try to charge it only when it is needed.
