After waiting longer than we should have, the Wayfair delivery truck finally arrived. Alas, they didn't have what they needed to unload and deliver our 200 pound plus vanity, despite my written warning to them that they would have to climb a few stairs. The drivers complained that the vanity was too heavy for them. They said Wayfair would get back to us and reschedule with the right equipment, but it never happened. I have written a second time. Try to get them on the phone! It won't happen and they try to redirect you. They fired a ton of people and now complain that they are too busy.
My daughter convinced me to give Wayfair a chance. I agreed and I ordered a fire pit. It looked good on line with a ceramic top which went perfectly with what we wanted. I saw a fire pit in a local big box store $370 cdn which was considerably cheaper but just didn't like the top.
Well didn't Wayfair send that exact model I saw in the store with a $200 higher price (which was on sale with an additional $200 reduction).
Bottom line. It took over 2 weeks to deliver. I didn't get what I ordered and it cost me 200 more than the local store. I was over the barrel with an impending family event I was hosting. Just really disappointed and angry.
Lessons learned;
Don't buy from Wayfair. Expensive, time to deliver, not what you order.
Don't buy large items on-line. What do you do when a 100 lb box is delivered on your front steps and it isn't what you wanted or doesn't work...

Canceled my order within one hour of it being placed. 5 days after placing original order, realized that although I'd received an email saying they'd contact me as to the status of my cancellation, they hadn't. I called again - after being on hold 1 hour and 43 minutes, finally talked to someone who said he would check into it. No further response, and 10 days from original order, I get "your item has shipped" email! What the heck. I refused delivery, but now just got an email that says "your item was delivered, enjoy your sink".
WORST COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EXPERIENCED IN A WHILE
Wayfair is my favorite home decor site. I was confused by all of the low scores and thought perhaps they were being unfairly reviewed. When examining the dates of the low scores, it appears that people are most upset with having to wait for their stuff which to me is an unfair criticism in light of Covid.
I've shopped Wayfair for YEARS and as recently as March when I completely renovated a bathroom with Wayfair products. I've always had a great experience and Customer service is always friendly and helpful. Yes, products are a little more expensive than what you may find if you spent hours searching for the same product somewhere else, however, I prefer NOT to do that so I opt to pay a little more for the convenience of one-stop shopping. The only inconveniences I've experienced is that they only ship through FedEx and I don't have a FedEx location near me. Also, you pay for return shipping. That being said, because I do so much business with Wayfair, I've developed a friendship with my Neighborhood FedEx driver and he's always great to stop and pick up my returns. Shipping costs for returns are expected, but they can really add up when you're buying lots of product. They had promotional free shipping on returns earlier this year which was really nice, but I get why that can be costly for the company. **Would be nice if they implemented some type of points system based on your buying history that would give you a discount on returns.**
Overall, this is a great company with quality product and customer service. Unfortunately, it's a GLOBAL pandemic and EVERYONE is experiencing setbacks and delays, so Yea... you may have to wait a bit longer for your stuff. It's common sense. I just don't think it's fair to fault a company for something which they have little/no control. People should be grateful they have some money in their pockets to spend when lots of people can't buy groceries. If you're still upset by it, take it up with your Left-leaning Governors and Congressman who are keeping stuff closed.
You'll find you'll get your rug and lamp much quicker when everything opens back up.
I purchased a porch swing for my balcony. Wayfair promised a delivery date of about two weeks. I received an email from them the day before the promised delivery date that it was delayed. Went from two weeks to five months! Seriously? No explanation. I wanted to enjoy the swing over the summer. It was now to be delivered when winter started. In my opinion, completely irresponsible and unprofessional. First and last time I'll ever order anything from Wayfair.
I bought 1600 Sq ft of laminate planks from wairfair. After one month they delayed shipment and said it would arrive later then normal. Another week goes by and they cancel my order. After being on hold for a hour and a half they customer service agent tells me the item was never suppose to be listed and never way available. Now I have no floor and i lost out on multiple flooring sales due to the holiday when I ordered it. Horrible customer service and horrible company. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!
We received our kitchen cart and 3 pcs. Were missing. They did send them out but the one piece was incorrect plus when we went to put the marble top on you could tell the coating was smeared before it was totally dried. It took me 10 years to save up enough money to re-do my kitchen and 6 months to decide on this cart and as you walk into my kitchen the first thing you see is that smear. They said we will give you 15% back and I sent back saying No I want a new top and they never answer my new message. I was on hold for 1 hr and 15 min and no one answered. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM THEM!
Not only do you have to sit on hold for almost 2 hours but your questions are never answered customer service sucks at Wayfair. The items never ship on time even though you pay for expedited shipping at times. In order to get through to someone you must hold for almost 2 hours.
Wayfair approved me for a credit card then I tried to used the card they placed it on a fraud alert and told me to reapply for the credit card are you stupid? Not sure of the low score on this company my 1st interaction with them was superb from the website where I shopped to the pricing and the delivery was so fast I couldn't believe it packaged securely and exactly what I expect from the website pictures I'll reccomend them with no problem plan to shop with them as needed things do occur an I had no issues with my 1st purchase if it changes down the way I'll update the rating
I understand that due to the pandemic many companies are extremely challenged however the service received by Wayfair has been horrific. I ordered initially on 5/13 and delivery date was supposed to be by5/19. That came and went when I finally got through to customer service after being disconnected and waiting over an hour-I was guaranteed delivery of my item by 5/29. My parents ordered my husband and I a crib in April. This is our first child and we are beyond excited. The crib we ordered was manufactured wrong and parts were missing. It took over a week to get in contact with customer service about the issue. We were told the parts would be replaced. A week later we received an email the parts would not be available until July. We have now been emailing/calling multiple times a day for over 2 weeks now to talk to someone regarding this! Emails have not been returned, calls are on hold for 30+ minutes before we give up, or we are leaving voice mails that have not had a returned call. Our baby will be here in July and I'm needing answers. Very dissatisfied and do not plan on doing business with Wayfair again after the experience we have had.

It doesn't get any worse than this. Stay away from this online business! From the time I placed an order to the time I canceled several weeks later -so disappointed. Right from the beginning of placing an order with a representative and communicating with several others, only to find out weeks later, nothing was happening with all the items. All on hold, due to nothing was in stock, although the website reflected it was. Very frustrated with the whole experience and time wasted invested in placing an order on Wayfair. Non-communicative, several errors made by the initial rep and the hour a half hold times, and at times they put you on hold and mysteriously your disconnected. You would think they would call back, NOT. A terrible experience and such a lack of communication when it comes to an order already placed. If you don't ask, you won't know because they are not going to come out and be transparent on what's going on behind the scene with your order. Not even send an email or call about items not being available as advertised. No apologies!
I ordered dinning table and chairs. Chairs were ok but the dinning table is horrible they don't answer your calls and if you try to return it online they will charge you a lot of shipping the table was chipped and not what is says I will never buy from here ever again the worst customer service ever
I purchased a white dresser for $179. It arrived on time, however when assembling the dresser the drawers were not the right size to stay in the tract. When requesting a refund, I was informed that I would have to pay to have it shipped back to the company that had a faulty product. So not only does my daughter now not have anything to put her clothes in, I have to pay for the companies mistake. Very dissatisfied! I will never shop here again!
Taught I was buying a bbq grill, they send me a shelf. All the pictures showed a bbq grill now to return item I have to pay $40. Would be doing my online shopping with Ebay. Good riddance $#*!s
I spoke to a very understanding and sweet Jinny and Becky who both helped resolve my returns during the pandemic. They were both helpful and resolved my issues. The wait to speak to them was very long but since everyone is working remotely it was understandable. Worth the wait. Ordered from Wayfair and will continue to do so. Recommend them to anyone.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to communicate with Wayfair, I have been on hold for over 30 minutes. Additionally, there web site sucks when it comes to customer service. The phone suggests one go to the web site, my orders, well, it does not give status of an order that is overdue! It is easy to buy, but after that, you are on your own.
