WatchShop Reviews Summary

The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with some customers expressing satisfaction with their purchases and the quality of products received. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, including long shipping delays, inadequate support for faulty products, and issues with returns and refunds. Many customers reported feeling frustrated by unresponsive service and a lack of accountability when problems arose. This suggests a need for the company to enhance its customer service practices and address operational inefficiencies to improve overall customer satisfaction and trust.

I am currently experiencing problems with this company. My husband bought me a lovely Rodania waterproof watch for Christmas 2014. It cost £65, with a RRP of £129.00. Recently I noticed moisture build -up under the glass of the watch face so contacted Watch shop who requested me to return it to them for assessment! However they say there is no sign of fault with the seals and that the 'crown' was probably not screwed in properly(?!) which was how the moisture got in! They quoted £45 to repair it! If by the crown they mean the small time-change pull-out button on the side, the watch would not have kept working if this was not pushed in securely, and at no time did the watch stop working! I am not paying them another two-thirds of the original purchase price for this 'repair'!
Update to this review dated 27th June 2015 - Since posting the above reply I am happy to announce that Watchshop have informed me they are going to repair my watch free of charge as a gesture of goodwill! Good on them! But beware of watches advertised as water resistant to 30M. This does not mean 30 metres (although mine had not been worn in water!), but possibly only resistant to very light rainfall and an isolated case of having been splashed with water!

I bought a watch for my sister and it arrived in good time. Unfortunately the watch face (not strap) was too big for her so we sent it back for a refund (with the objective of buying a new watch from the site). When they received the watch they told us we had damaged it and would not make any refund: "As the item that you have returned has signs of wear and usage, it is now unsellable, and we are unable to process a refund." Given that the watch was never worn and in the 4 days we had it, it can only have been out of its box for about an hour that is impressive! They have refused to review this despite correspondence with them to explain the situation. Notably they say we have removed protective packaging (there wasn't any) and that the scratches on the clasp are from 'wear and tear'. I normally don't like these sorts of complaints but this really was an obvious rip off by them and they had no interest in any solution other than not refunding/crediting me. I STRONGLY urge anyone reading this not to buy from this company for your own benefit.

Watch refund
February 27, 2015

I bought one of their Ingersoll watches for my dad, 3 weeks later the strap started to just unravel so he told me to just get a refund, I packaged it up and sent it back recorded delivery, instead of the refund they just sent it into their repair shop, and I was quoted £20 for broken strap, dial, glass, and damaged case, when I complained about how that could not have been possible as I padded it enough that you could play football with the package. They re-quoted me £20 for just a damaged dial!. A further complaint from me again stating the only damage was the strap led to another quote for £25 to replace the strap. And now after another complaint ive been quoted £20 for a new dial and £25 for a new strap. These quotes are from the same 2 people, all I wanted was my refund, but I was told the watch was too damaged to receive one, it would have to be repaired first. Just avoid watchshop like the dam plague!

I ordered a watch from watchshop.com. The prise was 25
The price was 2.565.12 Nok included shipping.
When I collected my package I had to pay 946,- Nok in Tax
Since the price was in Nok and inkluded shipping on the nettshop, I got the impression that the price i paid with watchshop was the total price for the watch.
This bakame a prisy misstake. Stay out of this shop. You can get the watches for better prises otherwhere.

So folks, you are herby warned

I ordered a pink timex for my daughter and received it on time and in perfect condition so i wrap it and once we used it after unwraping it at christmas, we noticed it keeps loosing time and it is brand new. I ordered it online because it was convenient and i am in canada. Little did i knew when i ordered that a) i would receive a defective product and b) that i would have to pay to return it to England which cost about half the price of the watch. I sent emails to their support line and called this morning the support line in England. Marion suggested that i deal with Timex and i was shocked, i would have to deal with timex and the warranty for a product that i used 2 hours to discover it was losing time? Legally i paid for a product that works not a defective one so it should be their problem to solve and refund an unsatisfied customer. I dont know how this will turn out but already, i am dissapointed... my 10 years old is dissapointed...

I would not recommend this company to any potential customer. The first watch I ordered continually lost time after it was a year old so out of warranty. Thought it was just bad luck so ordered another watch in the sale in June. Again the watch started to lose time so agreed to return to the Watch Shop so they could monitor it in their workshop. After a few days I received an email saying no fault found so did I want to have the watch returned. I emailed to say I did as long as my manufacturers guarantee would not be affected. I then received another email saying they had "accidentally" refunded my watch so if I wanted the watch returned I needed to pay for the watch again! After checking my bank account I then did this, even thought I did think it was strange! I then received a phone call saying my watch would be sent out and I would receive by "Thursday". Yes you guessed it the watch didn't arrive. I then telephoned customer services several times, each time being held in a long queue and having to wait sometime. The agents I spoke to didn't appear to have any details of my previous phonecalls or transactions. Each time I phoned I was assured of a call back that day by a member of the escalations team. (Initially I was told that the escalations team only responded by email!) So far I have not received a phone call. My impression of this company is they are great when they are initially making the sale but after that they don't give a damn. They appear to be a bunch of cowboys who do not care about customer service at all.
I would avoid like the plague.

I bought a citizen eco drive for this company, an anniversary present for my wife, after receiving it, it wouldn't work, not any movement at all, I rang for a replacement, I was fobbed off with ''it sounds like a battery, we will send another one'' I explained eco drive means no battery needed, she then asked me to return which I did. A no replacement came, it was ''lost in the system'', as the anniversary was closing in I asked for a refund which seemed a big ask to them. After two weeks NOTHING, so as soon as I sent them a solicitors letter the refund was imminent and my solicitor present them for another bill for his time, so in the end they were £150 at a loss. Did they care?, did they hell

I bought a watch from this company. It arrived ok but it was losing time. I sent it back. They first said there was nothing wrong with it, then said that they had found a fault and were discussing with the manufacturer. After having been without a watch for 3 weeks, I chased and they are now saying they'll refund me for the watch but not the postage (over £2). I tried phoning just now and was 9th in the queue so my suggestion is: avoid them.

Ordered a watch from watchshop as a gift for my Dad's 50th birthday. Main reason I ordered was because it guaranteed that if I placed the order before 10am Saturday my watch would arrive giftwrapped on the Monday before 1pm.

I received initial email confirming my order had been placed and again told me would be delivered by 1pm Monday. I became quite concerned when, by 11:30am on Monday I still hadn't received further correspondence that my order had been dispatched so I contacted the customer services team who told me that there was "a problem" with my order and I wouldn't be getting it? When I asked what the problem was I was put on hold for 15 mins while someone tried to find out what was going on. Eventually when she did come back on the line, the customer "service" agent informed me there was an issue with quality control and that the watch was not dispatched, there was none left in stock and they didn't know when they would be getting them back in. When I asked why I wasn't informed about this she replied "I don't know!" so I had to contact them to be told that I wasn't receiving my watch just over an hour before it was to be delivered by.

Absolutely disgusting, I cancelled the order there and then and was told that my money would be refunded within 2-3 days. So now I am £200 down and no birthday gift for my dad.

This company is a joke, don't order from them, I wish I had listened to the negative reviews that I read before ordering.

Bought watch 14 days before anniversary, but when I went to set and start it before wrapping 2 days before the day, I found it wouldn't start. Tried everything to persuade Watchshop to get one sent out immediately while I returned the other. Was even prepared to pay for a second one in the interest of speed but they discouraged me from doing so on grounds they couldn't guarantee a refund on the first (it still had the protective film on the face and had only been out of the wrapper to be set and started). Not interested in finding anyway to help me besides robotically repeating I should return it at my own expense and they would give me a verdict within 2-3 weeks. They made it clear that there was nobody above the level of an assistant supervisor who could speak to me and that the MD and Ops manager didnt talk to customers.
Even two calls from Kahuna themselves asking them to call me produced nothing despite the fact they told Kahuna they would call.
Good service is not just about delivering a product speedily, it's about what you do to HELP the customer when it goes wrong. They do only what they want to do.

Absolutely appalled by this company. I purchased a gift for a little girls Christening it was advertised in coming in a little lavender coloured box, it arrived in a very boy themed navy and red box, I contacted them and asked if I sent this one back (at my own cost) if they could just send me the one pictured or at least one similar. They were dismissive and simply said that it is the correct box. When I asked about the photo, they stipulated they had a disclaimer somewhere on the page saying boxes may differ slightly. Over all they were unhelpful and just all around quite rude.

Bought a watch from these clowns which started slowing down by up to 3 hours. I had to foot the bill for the returns, only to be told that they had carried out tests and had found no fault with it.

It was eventully returned back to me and, within 2 weeks, had started slowing down again. It has currently slowed down again by more than 7 hours. I was tempted to chuck it straight into the bin, but decided to try them once more, so I spoke to them on the phone, to ask for advice, and they said their 'company policy' dictates that I stick my hand in my pocket again and send it back for tests!

Stay away from these guys - they sell counterfeit goods.

As part of my 18th Birthday present my parents bought me a watch from this site.
Unfortunately, the watch wasn't to my liking, so after reading about their 'hassle free returns' I sent the watch back to them for a full refund.
I had only tried the watch on causing no damage, yet they told me the watch was damaged and therefore nonrefundable.
I've even asked them to send a picture of this watch for proof of the damage, which they have refused.
I strongly recommend to any potential buyers that if you are the slightest bit unsure about purchasing a product from this site, then do not get it from this site because you probably won't get your money back.
