My experience with VROOM was positive with some kinks in the road. They offered me a great price on my trade in and I got an excellent price on the vehicle I purchased. When I received the vehicle I noticed some damage to the bumper well hidden by the previous owner. I contacted VROOM, they asked for pictures, I sent and then they asked me to get a quote and send back in 24-48 hours. I did; and they offered to pay it all to the body shop I chose. Because the vehicle will take 2-3 days to repair VROOM is letting me keep the vehicle I am trading while the vehicle I bought gets fixed. Be sure you insure both your vehicles after you take delivery for your own safety.
Overall I am quite pleased. I see a lot of negative reviews and I appreciate where they are coming from. However, one needs to remember they are buying vehicles virtually. My vehicle shipped from Texas. So it isn't like driving on a car lot with one vehicle, signing papers and driving off in a new vehicle a few hours later. VROOM actually has not pressured me for my trade in vehicle at all. They allowed me to drive their vehicle around for days to decide if I liked it (again, be sure you insure it when you get it IN ADDITION to the vehicle you are trading).
My advice to anyone reading my review is if you have patience you will probably like VROOM. I gave them time to get back to me and respond to my inquiries and found they were pleasant and helpful. I'm happy with the transaction I made with VROOM, they sold me an excellent vehicle at a wonderful price, fixed everything on the vehicle I requested after its delivery, allowed me to keep my trade in while they fixed what I requested at the shop of my choosing and didn't pressure me at all. I gave them 4 stars cause five means everything went perfectly, I'd give them 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Can I rate it a zero? Where do I begin? JUST DON"T DO IT! I know, it looks like you can get the car you want at a good price. But oh, that is just the beginning. First, your car has not been inspected. My car arrived with a flat tire. Okay, no big deal; the valve could have been damaged when the car was loaded on the truck. So, I bring it to a tire place. There is no lock lug nut. Oh, there is a place for the lock lug nut - a big obvious place - but nothing there. You couldn't even look in the trunk without seeing it was missing. So, I buy one. Then, as soon as it rains the back windshield wiper comes on. Great! Except that there is no rubber blade. The metal wiper then carves a nice deep arch in the rear window. They fix that, which took 2 weeks and was a real hassle. How do you miss a missing windshield wiper blade in an inspection?! No one even looked at this car. It's not that it's a bad car, but if you think you are getting a inspected car, forget it. But now we get to the best part. I purchased this vehicle on December 19. I received it in December 29. I GOT MY LICENSE PLATE TODAY - JUNE 12! And it was NOT due to COVID-19! Vroom says they work with all states and know how their registrations work. Not in my experience. First, they sent the wrong amount to register the vehicle in my state. Second, they sent the paperwork to the wrong office (in the wrong city) not once, but twice! I am not kidding when I say I spent at least - and I am not making this up - 15-20 hours on the phone with them in what was probably 25-30 phone calls over six months. Astounding. I left messages for the manager to please call. Nothing. Next time I am spending a little more and getting a car I can see from people I can look at and who at least will return a phone call.
The entire process--purchasing and title/registration--has been horrible. The car I purchased had significant issues from the moment I received it, and had to be left at a shop the day after I received it to stay there for a week. I also called and left several messages over the course of two weeks after I submitted my insurance and VIN inspection for registration that never came in time before my temp plates expired. Now, without my car being registered and no temp plates, I cannot drive my vehicle a month after receiving it. I am extremely dissatisfied with Vroom and will never purchase with them again and will encourage others not to as well.
Just purchased a car from Vroom. First, caught the sales person in a couple lies. Quoted me an interest rate of 6.26 then turned around and sent the contract with an interest rate of 9.79. If I had not gone over it I wouldn't have known. But she didn't inform me of the different rate. Then said the finance company decided to take a 2nd look at my application? Seriously? Which was bs. I was able to negotiate a much better rate. Car arrived in good condition. Then trying to communicate with the registration dept was the worst. Called an left messages 10x but I'm no one ever answered an no call back even though the message said someone would call back. Sent 5 emails before getting one answer. Then 3 more calls an 3 more emails over the next 7 days and nothing, no response as of today. While writing I spoke to a customer service representative who, when I told her the reason for my call was heard in the background snickering. Then said she would transfer me to registration which she did an hear I am 30 minutes later writing this review.
We purchased a jeep grand cherokee after looking for about 3 weeks online and every time we found what appeared to be a "good deal" it was sold when we called the dealership. I have never heard of vroom but found out about it by searching for online vehicles. I immediately found one with low miles and a better price than I had found with all my previous searching. I called vroom and asked about how it all worked. He assured me that if there was anything at all wrong with the vehicle, they would "cut you a check" to repair anything wrong that was not listed on the website. I must have lost my mind because I did not check the reviews prior to purchasing this $22k vehicle however I did purchase a warranty which was WAY cheaper than the quotes I had gotten only days before on a similar vehicle. After putting down my $500 deposit to "take it off the market", I did check reviews which were HORRIBLE- now I'm really sweating - do I take my chances of losing the $500 or pay for it & hope they will follow what they told me. I paid for the vehicle, then they said it would take 10 days for the $800 delivery of my vehicle (came to find out later, these vehicles are located in Houston which is only 5 hrs away- I would have driven over myself & saved the money if I had known that was an option). Regardless, I stress the next week wondering if I have been ripped off & how hard will it be to get my $$ back. On day 6 I get an email that the vehicle will be here the next day, then later that day an email that said the vehicle had actually already been delivered- so I am stressing calling vroom who assures me it will be the next day. Then I get a call from the driver who says he will be here tomorrow that he is out of time on his driving so my jeep will be "at his house" which stressed me out even more. Next morning it arrives & I am stressed out to the max until I see it- it was really nice- so the relief was immense. However, on the steering wheel where all the controls are located on one side, it looks like someone took a brillo pad & scrubbed off all the black finish leaving a large silver area that is very obvious when sitting in the driver seat. We tried to look online at the original pictures online but they were no longer available. We sent a message for them to "cut us a check" like the guy told us when we bought the vehicle to have this repaired. So they produce a picture of the steering wheel from the posting & tell me it was shown (however it looks like a glare & not a damaged area)- so they refused to fix it- so I felt that was a little deceiving. However- I really am impressed with the vehicle overall for the price, no haggling & great price on a warranty. I would definitely consider them in the future- easiest car purchase I have ever made - however very stressful about not seeing it in advance.
Vroom approved me for 5.04 percent loan with my 758 credit score, then called me asking for more info and then said it would be 16 percent for the loan. I wasted 8 days with them. I cancelled and got my 500.00 deposit back. I then got a better vehicle with less miles thru Carvana in 4 days for 4.59 percent loan.
Absolute headache! Horrible customer service! They never answer the phone or return calls or emails. Purchased our van from them 2 months ago, inside was filthy. Now 2 months later I'm still dealing with vroom trying to contact them daily because our vehicle has yet to be registered and our tags have expired. Stay away!
Terrible experience. I was sold a vehicle with numerous defects that were not disclosed. Scratches and dings all over, clean carfax yet there are paint runs in the door so it's been painted, hiding a previous accident. Vibration issues in the brake pedal and steering wheel so it needs brake work. The change oil message is on the dash, it's missing a plastic console compartment door inside, rips in the rear seat, scratched plastics inside. Not the high quality vehicle i was expecting. I had to pay out of pocket to get repair estimates & now I'm worried about the return process. This wasn't the hassle free experience I was hoping for. I feel like a bait & switch job was pulled on me. I paid top dollar for a car auction trade in. Not impressed as I wait anxiously to find out what will happen. I just found out vroom screws you over by not refunding the delivery fee. What a joke, plus I had to pay out of pocket to get the estimate because even the dealership told me they dont deal with vroom. Word of caution steer clear. I doubt the pictures on the website were even the same vehicle I was sold. The delivery driver picked the car up from an auto auction. Vroom customer service is nice however they dont help much. Every call I was told I would recieve a call back... no one ever calls back and you're forced to call them. They won't disclose the buy back departments phone number. Not pleased at all, I'm out time, out money, and disgusted with the entire experience. I'm contacting a lawyer.
Purchased a 2016 bmw 750i from this company and I must say the worse decision I have ever in life...
Car was either misrepresented and/or damaged on the way. You expect more from an $80.000 luxury car. Imagine what they do with the rest. And the follow up/disclosure of information has been zero. We're hoping our state attorney generals office gets to the bottom of this - and these.
I had never heard of Vroom before. I always purchased my cars at auction, almost brand new, low miles etc. I had never purchased an expensive vehicle without even test-driven it. I decided to give Vroom a shot and purchased a 2019 GMS Yukon XL. Knowing I could test drive it and if I did not like it I could return it. The vehicle arrived, no scratches very good interior condition, the driver was super professional. After a week I felt it was not for me, having driven Mercedes Benz vehicles for the last 30 years. I called Vroom told them my experience they were super professional and curious, they told me when was the vehicle going to be picked up, they sent me the documents I had to sign. I documented tHE miles I had driven the car 200. They told me as soon as they received my vehicle and inspected it, I would get my check in 48 hours. They called me to inform me they received the Yukon. 24 hours later, yes 24 hours later I had my check for the full amount I paid less the $499 shipping I agreed to pay delivered to me via FEDEX. Would I recommend them? ABSOLUTELY. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS TO ME, TO SAY THE LEAST... MIND BUGGLING IN A POSITIVE WAY. Georg Klein. Atlanta Georgia
Hard inquiry! After I applied I got a call the next day from someone calling from their personal cell phone telling me to reapply after my credit report showed the pull... weird company full of $#*!! GOOD LUCK!
I applied for a vehicle with vroom the week of April 6. I reached out o vroom numerous time to get a decision on weather or not I was approved for the vehicle and no response. I finally was able to speak with someone on 4/11/2020 and my application was properly submitted and I was approved for a vehicle. I sent in all verification documents (SSC, ID, Proof of Address). The sales rep Dillon told me that when I applied for the vehicle my address was entered incorrectly the address on the credit app was 1010 instead of 1000 so he would have to contact the creditor and let them know of the change and he will then send me over all loan documents for me to sign. I called vroom about 5 more times on 4/11/2020 and I was unable to get ahold of Dillion or anyone that could help me with my vehicle purchase. Again I was approved already and I place my $500 deposit down to claim the vehicle. Since I received no reply, I called back on 4/13/2020 and again I got the run around. After about 6 phone calls I was able to speak with someone who told me I was denied and they cant tell me why! (Funny Right) and they will be refunding my money. Vroom gave me 2 credit inquires and held $500 on my credit to just say now Im denied. Yea this company is a JOKE... don't waste your time. I will be contacting the BBB because I take pride in my credit and you will NOT run my credit and approve then deny me like I am applying for something I cant afford or don't have the credit for.
Received car in a timely manner. Was assured it went through a detailed inspection. Received with a headlight with moisture inside. Started car up and a loud rattling was heard, exhaust shield appeared to be not attached. Rust throughout undercarriage. Still waiting for refund.
Absolute waste of time trying to sell with Vroom. Offered over 10k less than median kbb. What a joke. Not a great way to bring in customers. Carvana was much closer at least not an insultingly lowball offer. I would not recommend to anyone unless they are a masochist.
Car came with lot of scratches and rock chip in the front and it is a 2020 Toyota Sienna! They did not even wash the car before delivering.
Middle seat of the middle row is missing. It was not listed in the vehicle description. It says 8 passenger van.
It has been 5 business days since they received the trade in. So far no info on the payment. Horrible customer support. They said they would send me a touch up paint!?!? That is all they can do. If I return $599 delivery wont be reimbursed.
Horrible experience! Business practices are ridiculous. I dealt with a person named "Shadi". Ironic.
They delived the car dirty - they made me go to DMV to get the vin verification - they made me get the car smogged. Which against the law in California - they did not reimbursed me for the expense of the smog test - they really don't care after the sale
There's the exact same priced vehicles that are through the same process of being delivered to you and they have such a better reputation than Vroom. I urge you to go with Carvana or Avis Car Sales. Listen to the bad reviews of Vroom I promise that's closer to the truth than the positive ones.
My experience has been awful and they've done nothing to make up for it. In a nut shell, they don't have their own delivery drivers or trucks so they put your car up for a bid and drivers bid on if they want to pick it up and deliver. I imagine they do it this way because it probably saves them money. I wish I had known this beforehand, because this means the delivery drivers are under no pressure to keep their job with Vroom and don't have to care about the customer.
To that, my first driver tried to drop my vehicle off at a time I said I wasn't available, I spoke directly into he phone with him 2 separate times and he completely ignored me about not being available. He wasn't willing to work with me or Vroom and be there at a time I was available. Second driver was actually quite great and I wish I could rate him. But it took them 4 days after the first driver wasn't working out to find me a second driver.
My car was delivered with mud caked all over the outside and inside. The driver even told me and showed me messages where he offered to get the vehicle cleaned for me because he couldn't believe they would deliver to me like this. They declined and said no deliver as is(he showed me the conversation proof). The gas tank was also delivered with 2 miles to empty, the very first thing I had to do when I got the car was fill it up. I swear if it's possible to take gas out of a cars tank once it's in there, they did it all just to save a couple bucks.
Answer: I got a good offer and my car is 2 years old and in better than average shape. In fact they offered 1400. 00 more than the local dealer, more than Carmax or Carvanna. Then I read reviews, the BBB and received the contract. In there point #7, they said they have the right to adjust the price and do not pay out until they inspect the car. Called and canceled the contract before it got any further. In this day and age I decided if I'm going to sell something I need to look at the person face to face. VROOM holds too many unknowns.
Answer: Don't trust them! Can't handle simple matters as honoring a deposit.
Answer: Awful. I have been waiting for a month and still don't have our deal done yet due to their disorganization and expiring their offer on my trade in, so now I have to start all over again with that process - which, by the way, was part of the reason I chose to buy from them!
Answer: Yes, wait and wait and wait and wait. Be smart, walk away from these people
Answer: Then go ahead and sell it! They do not force you to buy a car!
Answer: They are a bait and switch company! Truly what's on the internet is not always true! If it seems to good to be true? Probably to good to be true!
Answer: I wouldn't do it. Everything in my experience with them has been painful and fishy! I still don't have my deal done yet after a month!
